Tried this at the original Helmut Lang Perfumer shop in NYC (SOHO) ... What a shop/laboratory it was. Absolute skin scent. It reminded me of a scented soap I had smelled as a child that came with a book about a Hippo. I couldn’t stop smelling my my wrist all day long to understand what it was because at first it was nothing: Emporor’s Clothes I thought ..... as the day passed it transformed into the scent of liquid bubbles from my childhood mixed with the girl’s hair who sat next to me in 2nd grade. Many memory flashes...enlightening, genius I thought, a “perfume/oil” that personalizes for each individual. It wasn’t cheap so I stuck with the $50 HL cologne, but never forgot that magical “scent”. 10 years later I ordered a bottle of velvione musk from a perfumer supplier. Ecco: the same exact “scent”. I often put velvet musk on before Lang to to enhance my favorite scent: HL EDC. Now when I open that very same “velvet musk” bottle 20 + years later its scent fills the room. Velvet musk or velvione musk is HL’s velviona. If you are curious purchase some professional grade velvet musk from one of many suppliers: it’s inexpensive, it gets better and better as time passes and both Maestros Lang and Rochel put it out for a reason... so discover why p.s. in 25 years I have only seen Velviona sold once by a resale site,maybe 15 years ago... it came in a special collector’s kit with a Helmut Lang bottle made of silver for $250. Regret not buying

They said it is 100% Velvione, which is a musk product from Givaudan.
