Amber Musk Jamid

I don't know wether i should consider this as a "perfume" at all (although it smells delicious) because it's very soft with very low projection, but now that I know it I cannot live without. It was another blind buy, I've watched reviews about it and was interested in it's multipurpose qualities. I was surprised. The brand claims it can be used as a perfume for body and clothes, deodorant, car, wardrobe and home scent, and even as incense, fixative for your own homemade perfumery creations, and applied to the thighs to heat up that moment. I tried it as a deodorant and it has an antiperspirant quality, so I applied it on the palms of my hands and feet to prevent excessive sweating, and was surprised with the efficacy. I then applied it in the oily parts of my body (face, scalp, neck, ears and chest) and it had a tonifying effect, closing the pores and making the skin look smoother. Didn't get any excess oleosity and pimples since. I need to test the other uses now and will update the review. I bought a combo of 3 (the other scents are not in the database) and was satisfied with all. Apparently they will last for years or a lifetime, who knows, so they are also cheap. Since it's just musk and other base notes it can be used with most other perfumes.

As someone else said, this is a magic gem. I first found it in a middle eastern grocery store some years ago, and have repurchased it. It lasts forever in storage, the scent doesn't lose power but mellows out into a more and more pure sweetness as years pass. Very good musk, white flowers, sugary vanilla, with a deep but clean spiced woody incense smell. It's a great choice if you're looking for something to keep in a drawer, it will last a long while, with sufficient fragrance release if you leave it in the foil sleeve, which I'd recommend if you mind crystalized pieces flaking off over time as it dries out. It has been a couple years since I've applied it to skin, but my memory of it is that it settled into a nicely intimate body chemistry-altering musk over the course of hours in its dry down, smelling like you but better.

I've tried all three Hemani musk jamids: 'Musk', 'Black Musk', and 'Amber Musk'. They are all nice, but this one is my favorite! It is quite potent, so just lightly rubbing the skin leaves it deliciously scented. It is a creamy, sweet musk of the type that appears in vintage perfumes, sweetened with labdanum and vanilla. This reminds me of the far drydown of both Shalimar and Obsession, but without the skank of civetone present. The musk here is simply sweet and milky. Very nice. Great for layering, or as a cozy skin-scent with good longevity. A single block will likely last me the rest of my life, but I bought a backup just in case...

A sweet yet alluring scent, slightly more unique than your standard perfume. The musk notes are light, leaving a delicious, sweet, buttery vanilla scent on the skin for hours after application. (It's also perfect for perfuming wardrobes, clothes and hair). Errs on the side of feminine in its sweetness but, in my opinion, most of Hemani's solid perfumes are suitable for unisex wear.

I love it so much it's probably my favorite ever. I was given this together with an incense burner at the store ages ago and this magic smell fills the house every time i light it. Use it for everything

I got this little gem today. The small tin box contains the solid perfume block of heavenly scent. This is a sweet amber but not to sweet. It is quite linear but just so lovely. I bought this kind of solid perfume wheen I visited Marrakesh but just a few months later on the perfume faded a lot. How ever, I get the impression that this product from the brand Hemani is a high quality product. When I rubbed it into my skin, the scent was a lot more stronger than the one (unknown label/perhaps homemade) I bought in the souk. I can really recomend this one, its amber for amber lovers, a true gem and also perfect for layering. Overall the perfume feels very smooth and velvety on the skin. Almost like a fine cashmir sweater. You can also use it like a deodorant according to the company, or even for scenting your wardrobe, home and so on. I prefer to have it on my skin and I can't stop sniffing this, just amazing! If you buy any type of solid perfume, remember to keep it stored in a air tight small bag and in a dark place, the longer your perfume will keep its scent. Some say that it ages and gets even better on the way, and then you can go on enjoying your solid perfume for many years.

So vanillic and and sweet. To me this is a great buy because it costs barely anything and you get so much from it. I usually think of solid perfumes as something that's more for yourself, intimate, doesn't project much or stay the whole day. But this is the opposite. I was surprised that it lasted throughout the whole day and I smelled it on myself the entire time. I rubbed it on my neck and arms and it really stayed put. One of the recommendations is to scent clothes with this and I can totally see how you could put it in your closet and the scent would stick to everything. Rub it on your hands and go through your hair...it's gonna be there all day. It's like a waxy cube but it's not too soft or prone to melting. Easy to apply. If you use it for perfume for yourself it seems like it would last forever and retain the strength if kept neatly in its closed box.

On my skin probably the musk is the most dominant, closely followed by the amber. The floral nuances are equally there. It is much stronger projection-wise than I expected from a solid perfume tho. It's the bomb! Anyhow, this reminds me of a Coccolino Floral scented laundry conditioner...in a good way!

Warm musk with low sillage and projection, but wraps you up in an intimate cloud of soft sweetness and creamy amber and vanilla. I like it for its multipurpose uses.

those creamy ambery resiny like cubes are jewels they remind me of my child hood i d find them snatched away in many of the drawers i was able to open .. those musk cubes do not smell like civet or dear musk or any animalic aromas they smell like vanilla clean amber woody resiny labednum powdery accord they are solid cubes but are not too hard like rocks they are like waxy cubes that you can easily rub on your skin leaving a beautiful trail perfect for layering many use them as an antiperspirant they are also great to keep in cars or drawers or cupboards to make your clothes smell nice they are so cheap and last for years i think they cost about one us$ per cube !

Growing up, this was one of my favorite scents. A wonderful ambery, floral, slightly sweet combo. I bought one recently from a local seller and grinded quarter of a cube, mixed it with my rubbing alcohol, then passed the mixture through a tissue sieve and poured it in my rubbing alcohol spray bottle. I can spray it on anything now without staining while still enjoy this wonderful scent. Highly recommend that you try this method.

True magic gem hidden in a traditional box. Notes are missing, because more than an ambery buttery clean musk and white flowers, I smell cinnamon, resinous woods, powdery and soapy vanilla. It smells like an invitation to travel to the empty peaks of India and Pakistan. Never has a little all purpose piece of solid perfume been so inviting to an exotic pilgrimage.
