Agua de Pravia 1905

Heno de Pravia... ...the "hay from Pravia" is a nice summer splash. Most "colonias" have a big citrus component in the mix but this one is soft, herbal/floral grounded by soft sandalwood and yes it has a hint of a golden yellow dry hay note. Overall it reminds me of one of the first sunscreens (Delial) which was invented in Germany and funnily was also sold in a yellow bottle. It smelled clean, creamy, fresh, soapy and it smelled like "beach". It is unisex and i prefer to use it as an after shower body splash and hair tonic. I have no idea though, why Fragrantica believes that Heno de Pravia is from the Philippines.... It is marketed by Puig and last time I checked Puig was a Spanish company. But then again......according to Fragrantica, Adidas and Michalsky are US-american...so so.

I always believed that fragrances seal memories and have the tendency to bring you back into the past. Heno de Pravia is one of those fragrances. I believe that it was my beautiful Lola (grandma) who introduced me to fragrances simply because she only uses Heno de Pravia soaps, a colonial export in the Philippines from Spain. So every time I see and smell Heno de Pravia soaps it always reminds me of her and warm summer days sitting and talking with her. I was in Spain recently and could not resist but to buy a bottle of the cologne for the sake of being reminded of my Lola. This is not a fancy fragrance. It is not complex-it is clean, green, soapy fresh and I use it now as after shower cologne.

Heno de Pravia is a very nice, great really, clean kinda soapy fragrance. If I could give a one word image, it might be a bar of regular yellow dial soap in term of scent. I think it smells wonderfully clean because of that, and simple. Possibly the perfect fragrance to just splash on even for work or going out anyplace. I dont get any lavender in this, the Aqua Lavanda has the scent of lavender, the spicy, minty lavender scent. This one though has none of that, but rather a very clean like a bar of soapy clean scent. You could also say dried grass with a touch of grassy sweetness, like dried hay for example! which is what Heno means actually. A great cologne.

An absolute pleasure to wear. Simple and high-quality. Oddly, I find that I dislike the smell of this while it's in the bottle, but it's oh-so-lovely on skin: soft, clean, airy, enticing, refreshing, delicate, pefumed hay. No one will find this offensive. Neither longevity nor projection are strong, but they're not meant to be. At around 5 USD for a 500ml bottle, it's also very affordable. Good solo, but also plays nice if you want to layer it with other fresh simple fragrances or essential oils (e.g., lily-of-the-valley, citrus of your choice, lavender or rosemary).

incredible nostalgia every time I dab it on my skin. my grandmother used to put in on her wrists, hair, in her closets. her blankets and sheets smelled like it when I would sleep in her bed, so crowded was her small apartment when we visited, as a child. very fresh simple yet beautiful scent. recently found a very small bottle in my house and have been wearing it after my showers.
