Agua de Pravia 1905

Heno de Pravia... ...the "hay from Pravia" is a nice summer splash. Most "colonias" have a big citrus component in the mix but this one is soft, herbal/floral grounded by soft sandalwood and yes it has a hint of a golden yellow dry hay note. Overall it reminds me of one of the first sunscreens (Delial) which was invented in Germany and funnily was also sold in a yellow bottle. It smelled clean, creamy, fresh, soapy and it smelled like "beach". It is unisex and i prefer to use it as an after shower body splash and hair tonic. I have no idea though, why Fragrantica believes that Heno de Pravia is from the Philippines.... It is marketed by Puig and last time I checked Puig was a Spanish company. But then again......according to Fragrantica, Adidas and Michalsky are US-american...so so.

I always believed that fragrances seal memories and have the tendency to bring you back into the past. Heno de Pravia is one of those fragrances. I believe that it was my beautiful Lola (grandma) who introduced me to fragrances simply because she only uses Heno de Pravia soaps, a colonial export in the Philippines from Spain. So every time I see and smell Heno de Pravia soaps it always reminds me of her and warm summer days sitting and talking with her. I was in Spain recently and could not resist but to buy a bottle of the cologne for the sake of being reminded of my Lola. This is not a fancy fragrance. It is not complex-it is clean, green, soapy fresh and I use it now as after shower cologne.

Heno de Pravia is a very nice, great really, clean kinda soapy fragrance. If I could give a one word image, it might be a bar of regular yellow dial soap in term of scent. I think it smells wonderfully clean because of that, and simple. Possibly the perfect fragrance to just splash on even for work or going out anyplace. I dont get any lavender in this, the Aqua Lavanda has the scent of lavender, the spicy, minty lavender scent. This one though has none of that, but rather a very clean like a bar of soapy clean scent. You could also say dried grass with a touch of grassy sweetness, like dried hay for example! which is what Heno means actually. A great cologne.

An absolute pleasure to wear. Simple and high-quality. Oddly, I find that I dislike the smell of this while it's in the bottle, but it's oh-so-lovely on skin: soft, clean, airy, enticing, refreshing, delicate, pefumed hay. No one will find this offensive. Neither longevity nor projection are strong, but they're not meant to be. At around 5 USD for a 500ml bottle, it's also very affordable. Good solo, but also plays nice if you want to layer it with other fresh simple fragrances or essential oils (e.g., lily-of-the-valley, citrus of your choice, lavender or rosemary).

incredible nostalgia every time I dab it on my skin. my grandmother used to put in on her wrists, hair, in her closets. her blankets and sheets smelled like it when I would sleep in her bed, so crowded was her small apartment when we visited, as a child. very fresh simple yet beautiful scent. recently found a very small bottle in my house and have been wearing it after my showers.

this scent has an amazing clean soapy smell. Only wish they sold in in a smaller glass splash bottle for convenience.

I have the soap and love it. Time to get this splash to prolong the sweet freshness just a bit more!

I love this fragrance! It's fresh, clean, relaxing, and calming.

The scent of Agua de Pravia: Opens with a green soapy feel. The goal of this fragrance is to achieve the scent of freshly cut hay which I believe it does a good job of doing, but it has a herbal and citrus undertone to it. Fresh. The grass starts to come out more after the initial spray and the lavender really adds aromatic feel to it. All of it is backed up by that geranium nuance, which in my opinion, is a very well placed ingredient. Certainly unique. To me, this scent is extremely nostalgic, as it reminds me of my grandmother's house (which is where I first found this fragrance). Not unisex in my opinion, it leans more feminine. And because it's not necessarily my style of perfume, it gets a like. Still really good regardless.

The relatively new Agua de Colonia Heno de Pravia Glicerina y Té Blanco is much better and sooooo cheap! (2,5€ 650ml). It ́s a lovely clean fragance with a surprisingly good longevity. And it ́s the only unisex bath cologne I frequently get complimented for. Light and refreshing in this heat wave we ́re suffering. It ́s a pity it ́s not listed here.

Definitely unisex, I don't see hay listed within the notes, I always thought that was the main note in Pravia. The EDC is almost water so if you want longevity you might wanna try one of the soaps or body wash like I did. Old school and casual as can be for day and warmer time of year. Oooo...I love this! I bought a few of these huge splash style bottles of Spanish Eau De Cologne to try (Lancry Colonia, Nenuco, Puig Lavanda...), and this one is one of my favorites. I bought some of this bar soap too. It smells slightly herbal-fresh-clean. Not sure if perhaps my parents had this, or something similar when I was a child, but this smells very familiar to me. It makes me think of the late 70s (similar to vintage Jean Nate, maybe?) When I used this for the first time, the opening to Three’s Company came to mind for some reason (when Janet is watering the plants, and accidentally waters Chrissy with the watering can when she’s outside sunning her self :D). Not overpowering either. I put some in a spray bottle and use it to freshen up that way. Such a nice, sunny, herbal, clean, retro scent.

This Spanish Puig cologne is a piece of history for me and I guess for a lot of people from Spain. That soapy lavender and light floral herbal opening and the light woody musky base is so well made. This refreshes perfectly when it's hot and calmes me when I go to sleep. The soap bar is even better. I have a 750 ml plastic splash bottle that's perfect for the job. And the price is great. You can bathe in the stuff. Puig is a huge company now but I praise them for keeping the first fragrances they released in production. Like Aqua Lavanda, Aqua Brava, Brummel and Quorum. They treasure their roots and are loyal to generations of customers. Muchos gracias!

It does not last, but this is for a crisp lift, not for performance . I keep a spray in the refrigerator for after shower during heat spells. On occasion I add some geranium essential oil to the cologne for more intensity. I think this is a very safe blind buy, dirt cheap, and especially good for application to the temples during oppressive heat. Refresh yourself!

I see this as a woman's fragrance. Light and fresh. Too often I get bogged down with the same scent, hour after hour. Not so here. At times I like a light fragrance that dissipate fairly quickly. Sometimes the thought of "what was" is more powerful than the sensation of "what is". So do not reapply. As we drift out of summer, we can still bring back memories. Thumbs up

Love this cologne here in Buenos Aires Argentina coming from a basque family always was in our toilettes, smells as the soap , the soap has been at home since I remember, now my 12 year old boy loves the soap and cologne, smells so clean and refreshing in me lasts 5 hours.

Wow I absolutely love this smell! I am also from Argentina and the Heno de Pravia soap was a staple in our bathroom. It reminds me of my childhood, of good old times, of security and trust. I must try the eau de toilette and let my mind go back in time...

Terrible longevity and sillage but it makes a truly lovely after-shower splash. It is really sparkly, lively, and grassy. I do love it and wouldn't be without it - one of life's fleeting beautiful moments.

We were bathed in this cologne every morning for years... it was strong but it dissipated quickly and left a fresh, herby smell. I prefer "Nenuco" now, but still use it when I go back to Spain.

ZELJO, that's why she said " COLONIAL Export " meaning Spain exports this product to the Philippines, a Spanish colony for 333 years. The Spanish introduced Heno de Pravia to the Philippines.

a classic. A reference for a green/herbal cologne where citrus take a step back. Soaps between the clothes of my dresser. Cologne to spray in couches and curtains daily.
