Incense & Musk

Well, Incense & Musk is exactly what was advertised: Incense. And Musk. And unfortunately little else to maintain interest or intrigue. Longevity is fleeting, the development is purely linear and changes little from beginning to its premature ending. Incense & Musk isn't a bad fragrance. It's a very good bargain given its reasonable price. What is lacks is the endurance and imagination to make this truly a worthwhile experience. There is also an incredible similarity to Byredo's Encens Chembur but for a few important details: Encens Chembur has far more depth and complexity and much better endurance. You may find yourself liking this -- and again, it's not terrible -- as a very light everyday fragrance, but it's far too fleeting to be taken seriously.

this is purely mystery, reminds me my honeymoon in dubai.different than the rest of the fragrances out there and there is no other fragrance that can be comparable to this particular one. very unique. forbidden, mystery, temptation...when I sniff this fragrance, these are the words that come to my mind. really intense. very assertive. it is like going to a foreign territories and beyond.

This is probably one of my most disappointing blind buys I've ever done. I made the mistake of thinking this would smell like "Incense and Musk". It doesn't at all to me. The opening is extremely acrid and strong and immediately throws me off. There are a few fleeting wafts of what must be lotus, but I'm not really sure. What I hoped would be a smooth nice incense fragrance is so very sharp, I almost cannot tolerate it. I'm going to keep trying though because of the name alone........this should smell like incense and musk...shouldn't it?

Henri Bendel INCENSE & MUSK is a streamlined yet beautiful perfume which truly showcases, as advertised, incense and musk. The incense is warm and dark without being smoky. Incense is quite distinct from both myrrh and oud, I have learned, and INCENSE & MUSK offers a very good rendition of this note. The musk is clean and imparts a smooth texture to the composition. The patchouli and lotus are so light that this could almost be a two-note wonder. Although the composition is fairly linear, it is a pleasure to wear because the notes are of niche quality. INCENSE & MUSK is much less complicated than Bvlgari BLV NOTTE (another incense-focused perfume) but I actually like this one more. This edp has great longevity and medium sillage, and I recommend it to both guys and gals who appreciate oriental perfumes, in general, and incense, in particular.
