Blue Vanille

Blue Vanille is simply haute parfumerie at its best and it is one of the greatest vanilla-based scents available on the market. It starts off with aromatic and spicy facets from geranium and cardamom. The perfume then transitions to vanilla (natural; not too sweet and not cloying at all), which is at the forefront for the remainder of the journey, complemented by sweet tobacco. The woody and musky characteristics stay in the background to support and round out the fragrance. The scent profile might be simple for some, but the perfume oil is beautifully blended and smells exquisite. Blue Vanille is quite versatile and can be worn all year round. In my opinion, it is an office-friendly scent but is equally wearable in the evenings and at social gatherings. It sits rather close to skin, as most perfume oils do, but it lasts all day on me. Blue Vanille is a true masterpiece and one of my favorite perfumes of all-time. If I had to pick a signature scent, this would be it.

This is hands down one of the best vanilla fragrances I have ever smelt in my life. I had never heard of Henry Jacques before and I am honestly surprised that not many people talk about this brand, as from what I have smelt and experienced I would consider this perfume house to be one of the best. However, this comes at a caveat. Their fragrances are super super expensive. So I would HIGHLY recommend actually checking out what they have before fully committing to a fragrance, as you will be chucking $1000+ for only 15mls. Yes, 15mls. But to me that's not why you would by this fragrance, you are buying it not for the brand but more for how beautiful the smells are. The fact that the fragrances are also oil based means that they won't really expire, but rather get better overtime. I know that I will probably wear this only on a few occasions but when I do, I know in confidence that I will be the best smelling in the room.

A smooth and moderate sweet blend of tobacco and vanilla. I tried the Eau de Parfum version of this fragrance. The vanilla and musk notes are present all the time, it leans more to the feminine side. However, the sweetness of the vanilla is rather soft and not overwhelming, so it can be worn all year. The tobacco note is light with an aromatic undertone. At work, it will make the airspace around you fresh, without causing your desk neighbour any headaches. In other words, if you opt for a subtle smell with a touch of paradise, you could try this one. Fragrance 9/10, Longevity 8/10, Sillage 8/10

I tried both this masterpiece and Vanille Planifolia by Guerlain, Blue Vanille wins for sure in terms of pure and gentle vanilla smell, however Vanille Planifolia is more popular and lasts way longer but (there is always a but) Vanille Planifolia is a bit syrupy imo. If you have to get one go and get the Blue Vanille, they are both very very good quality perfumes but I like the Blue Vanille more. (These are my thoughts on these two amazing vanilla perfumes/oils), hope this review helps.

Update after a few weeks: this is an amazing amazing masterpiece! The mix of lavender, vanilla and geranium is stunning and unique. I am now wearing it almost every day at night. Very long lasting too! Quite an amazing scent Have had the bottle for a few hours now and the scent has already changed a bit Very soft and sweet Feels more feminine to me but totally wearable by all. Gorgeous
