Osara

Just an impression from a passionate but pretty untrained nose: The most beautiful, and one of the only, aldehydic / (floral, ylang-ylang) / plum perfumes I have ever had the pleasure to smell. Slightly waxy from the aldehydes. Fruity in a subtle way. Sweet and resinous. Florals play a bit of a background. More transparent and less animalic than the grand Gala by Loewe. More coherent than amorphous, powerful, more obviously floral Boucheron Boucheron -- less ornate than Boucheron, Osara has more olfactory "form" or at least I think I can sense that. Less crass somehow than "Red" by Giorgio Beverly Hills (but I like Red too for what it is / in its own right). Osara is a sensual joy. This perfume gives me backbone / spine. I love this Henry Jacques brand personally, their signature elegance makes me feel euphoric and makes me want to do them justice in my attempt at lyrical expression...How a perfume makes one feel seems tantamount: that combination of fragrance, name, packaging / bottle, story / how the perfume came into being, how it comes onto our radars and maybe into our possessions....a heady combination of mystery and fascination. I have noticed that Henry Jacques Parfums put ylang-ylang as a major component in a lot of their perfumes. Like Myosotis with ylang-ylang and hawthorne (gorgeous, sweet) or this Osara with ylang-ylang and plum, another winning combination together with aldehydes. Ylang plays a large part in many of their works. I used to hate ylang, now I see it's sultry elegance...

if you enjoyed perfumes like Gala de Loewe & Boucheron Boucheron in your 90’s, you will adore Osara...as it has a perfect blend of flowers which never cloy nor suffocate. The dry down gets a little sweet which makes the experience very comforting. A little oil goes a very long way... Thumbs up!

Too soapy. Definitely for more classy woman.
