Boys of Summer

Smells like a sitting nearby a river on a bright summer/spring day and the smell of the wet river rocks and nearby lavender fields. I'm not even into clean smells but this one is special, almost photorealistic. strength and longevity weren't great but i let it sit for 2/3 months and i was much better! I think 50 ml for 15 is a good price, which is the current price on henry rose's website. The fragrance is very unisex, if your worried about it being too cologney this body spray doesn't have that issue.

You can tell this has the same dna and nose of Queens and Monsters. Pascal Gaurin used the same petigrain top note in this body spray as he did in Q&M. Queens & Monsters is one of my all time favorite, top 3 perfumes for life and I adore the resemblance of the two. They also layer beautifully.

Boys of Summer is, somehow, both not very impressive and still quite nice at the same time. I blind-bought it from Sephora and I can’t decide whether to keep the bottle. First, the packaging: gorgeous. The metal bottle feels luxe and heavyweight in the hand, and the atomizer sprays a beautifully even, wide mist. The formula is alcohol-free, too—so safe for hair, which I love. My initial impression of the scent itself was that it’s a pretty predictable masculine cologne: lavender, vetiver, pepper, and those slightly salty “cologne” signifiers pop right away. I see what ScentedSynthesia means by "Axe-like," but the petitgrain keeps this just quirky enough to hold my interest. It actually reminds me of how I remember Jake’s House smelling (assuming I’m not misremembering), just lighter. And “lighter” really is the theme here. The scent is faint and would be a very safe, pre-gym spritz for men. On my skin it lasts maybe two hours—honestly fine with me; there’s a time and place for something subtle like this. My issue is that it leans masculine in a way that works against me. I love using a soft men’s cologne as a layering base, but this is so light that any EDP I pair it with just bulldozes right over it. I'm left with no layering effect—just the other fragrance. I do like the drydown when spritzed on its own after 20ish minutes: soft and cozy yet fresh and lightly salty-skinlike (genuinely like the smell is emanating out from within you). But I’m not sure I like it enough to justify keeping a 200 mL bottle. Still thinking about it. If I were a man, I would absolutely keep this around to use as a post-shower and pre-gym spritz.

Smells like the guy who told me to spread my legs while I was riding my college shuttle. But that could be because I maced him with this, before I kicked him in the groin repeatedly. Not a memory I like yo relive regularly, but the nostalgia is hitting today

This isn't a bad scent, but it's too masculine-leaning for me. Luckily, I got the mini trio and didn't spend on the full bottle.

The notes listed here are so right up my alley I thought it would be the easiest blind buy- especially because it’s a body spray. They take the idea of clean a bit too realistically... as in sterile... I use lemon scented Lysol all purpose cleaner/disinfectant EVERYDAY. And the opening/middle of this smells exactly like it. I had others confirm the similarity. There is a definite lemon note in here that I can’t believe is not listed. I know alcohol bases can sometimes give off cleaning product smell but this doesn’t even have alcohol in it. Very unusual. It’s not like clean laundry, and it’s not soapy, it’s lemon clean. Eventually other notes do come through and the cleaning smell mellows down but it doesn’t go away completel. I will say it’s not unwearable, but I prefer it as a room spray. Might be a really good option for a gym bag/gym scent.

Smells like minty axe spray, with a ton of pink pepper. Pink pepper is great, minty axe not so much ! Reminds me of what the morning routine of a teenage boy would smell like (toothpaste, and cheap body spray) I regret buying this, pass!
