Ripe

Imagine homemade sorbet melting on a garden table just as a storm clears; Ripe is an atmospheric, fruity-floral: perfect for slightly chill summer mornings. Upon first spray, a zingy, tart watermelon emerges alongside an aquatic, tropical, almost citrusy lychee. There is a crisp green note in the opening, preventing the profile from becoming too cloying or unsophisticated. While the pepper and cardamom remain indistinct, they provide a necessary complexity and nuance to the top. The opening is ever so slightly hairspray-esque, though in a clean, nostalgic way. At the heart, hints of watermelon linger, though much more photorealistic and subdued. The rose water is lovely: watery, translucent, and delicate, reminiscent of morning dew glazing rose bushes. Much like the rose water, the peony is dewy and fresh, adding an interesting, sparkling element to the perfume. The wisteria brings a prominent (more classic) floral essence: it's lush while maintaining a slightly powdery and spicy touch. The dry down is incredible. Having never smelled Orcanox prior to this, I find the effect fascinating: woody, milky, and almost paper like (in a good way). Overall, the base settles into a sweet, solar musk. Very enjoyable! I am sure Ripe will become one of my summer signatures; it's invigorating, fun, and uplifting.

Oh, there you are. I’ve been looking for a scent like this for a minute and I’ve fallen in love. The opening is the most realistic smelling watermelon sorbet. It’s lightly sweetened and the sorbet aspect gives this scent texture that makes it completely unique. In the dry down it becomes an exuberant floral that leans slightly aquatic. This is the scent of someone who has an inexplicable light that shines from within. Like light refracting and reflecting on water. The sweetest woman you ever met.

I kind of hate to say that I love this perfume because it reminds me of my middle school lipbalms, but this is a combination of some of my favorite scents. As someone who loves fruit and floral scents, this smells extremely fresh and sorbet-like, as some other people have described it. It doesn't smell sickly sweet to me though, I can have multiple sprays without a headache. It just smells like a cool, fruit drink on a warm summer day.

I blind bought this and am thoroughly not disappointed. It’s generic and mass appealing but fortunately for me this scent profile is right up my alley: fruity, shampooey, aquatic floral musk. It’s less sweet than many other fruity florals at Sephora and more grown up, and very office friendly. I love it, it didn’t set out to do much but it is perfect for me!

This is amazing. I mostly get the watermelon and litchi, but it's so juicy. It's what I've hoped for every litchi perfume I've tried to be It reminds me of The 7 Virtues Candied Lychee, a little brighter and with watermelon

For me, lychee can be a note that goes two ways: juicy or sour. This fits the juicy lychee description perfectly. It’s mouth-watering and delicious.

The opening is very bright, pretty and juicy. This is the perfect warm weather scent for the person that dreams of twirling in meadows with a floral sun dress. It’s feminine and an easy reach for someone that identifies themself as a girly-girl. The dry down is verryyyy similar to Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Granada Salvia, which is not a bad thing at all. This has much better performance than Granada Salvia and Ripe is technically cheaper when you break down the price per ounce. I wouldn’t say this is 100% a dupe for the Guerlain fragrance, but it’s seriously so similar that when I run out of my Granada Salvia, I’ll just purchase a full bottle of this.

Based on the notes, I never would have ordered a bottle of Ripe. I'm not typically into super sweet, fruity scents. However, I received a sample of this recently and was pleasantly surprised at first sniff. I absolutely love the bright, uplifting top notes. I get watermelon (real watermelon, with aquatic undertones) and lychee (light and tropical). Peony brings a lovely dewey quality, followed by a creamy, almost powdery musk from the Orcanox in the dry down. Yes, this fragrance is a little sweet, but it's not saccharine; it's airy and refreshing. Perfect spring scent, stereotypically "girly" but not immature.

Bought a fleet of testers with this in it. Starts with what I thought was very ripe banana for a second, then it smelled like juicy ripe berry through the drydown. Compelling, but I don't want to smell like fruit. I would only wear this very occasionally, and wouldn't buy a full bottle. Nothing bad about it, but again...who wants to walk around smelling like fruit? A good exercise for a perfumer though.

Like this for Spring and Summer. Have a sample vial. Scared to purchase ANYTHING from Henry Rose. Always ask " will full bottle be remotely close to sample vial"? and with Henry Rose the answer is mostly NO! Too many "renditions" occurring in each fragrance. How can we trust the "cradle to bottle" motto if they have sooo many inconsistencies and poor customer service?

I’m definitely getting the Granada Salvia vibes from Ripe in the drydown. The opening is the best part - the juicy fruits are delicious and I wish we could have this permeate the fragrance from top to base. It would have made the scent more linear, but worth it imo! Nothing special here.

At first spray, I’m instantly reminded of the Tommy Girl I wore in my early teens, but that quickly changes and it turns into one of the best fruity candy, shampoo-ey scents. Longevity isn’t great but it layers with other things beautifully.

Fruity and fresh. Very clean and refreshing. I get the watermelon and green, it is a bit tart in the opening. Not super long lasting as it becomes a skin scent fairly fast. But for summer, in 110° heat, it works.

Strawberry, watermelon, fresh young rose is the gist. A fresh fruity floral that dries down slightly heady and warmer. Pink, girly. It's done well, easy to like and should be mass appealing.

Watermelon / gummy candy mixed with a nice hair spray. It’ll be nice for summer. I agree with others that this is mass appealing. Fresh, clean, shampoo-ey. Gives me Kate Spade Cherie vibes.

Watermelon and litchi. Light floral. This is one perfume where I’m pretty sure the fruit scents actually last to dry down.

Upon first spray Ripe is juicy, bright, alluring, and oh-so-summery. After about two hours, however, things took a turn for the worse for me. The fragrance became a sickly sweet floral blast. It retained a few juicy, litchi, summer-fresh qualities but the peony took over in such an intense way. For the rest of the day I had a dull headache from the wafts of sweet florals coming from my wrist. Im a bit disappointed as the opening was exactly what I was looking for in a summer scent, but it was overpoweringly floral in the long run. On a positive note, this fragrance lasted quite strongly on my skin for almost six hours, and the sillage was more than decent! I think fans of sweet florals would enjoy this perfume.

This opens a bit sharp and sour with watermelon rind and lychee before mellowing to a green rose with hints of the peony and wisteria. The drydown is what I'd describe as a tame, fruity musk. This is not bad at all, but not remarkable or entirely necessary with all the fruity-floral perfumes coming out right now. This is pleasant, but a bit short-lived, and with minimal projection. I could definitely see people enjoying this in the heat.

It’s very lychee forward, I barely get any watermelon. Mostly smells like a slightly green rose/peony/lychee combo. Not a bad fragrance but I find it to be too similar to other rose+lychee scents I own. It even somewhat reminds me of Angel Nova by Mugler. This type of DNA has been recycled a little too often IMO 🥱

Similar to L’imperitrice (D&G) with some fibrous warmth. Watermelon juice, white rind & a fluffy, cream-colored yarn blanket.

To me this smells like something I’d have worn as a child during school summer holidays. Nice but too young for me.

This ended up being much more floral than I initially thought, so it wasn't for me.

I kinda knew going in that the addition of cardamom and pepper was something that would be an acquired taste. The fresh, aquatic, tropical accords did not come through on me. It just leaned very...GREEN. I was hoping for more watermelon. It also didn't last over an hour (on skin or clothes).

Smells cheap.. opening is juicy and fresh but dry down is not good in my opinion.

This pulled a lot more floral than fruity on me and it was nauseating. No thanks!

I watch a woman of substance, artfully grayed, walking with purpose in the pouring rain. I want to be her. She pauses, glances around, and ducks into an alley. Fascinated, I followed. As I peek around the building’s edge, the wet city’s acid smell fades and something bright and juicy blooms. Is she buying heroin? Is she going to adjust her bra? Is she going to call an illicit lover? She was jumping in puddles. I want to be her.

I'm not wowed. It's basic. The watermelon is ripe and realistic, it adds a really nice watery element, but that's the only interesting thing about it. The florals are very prominent, it's like you can pick out the notes. It's giving designer, crowd pleasing, shampoo, etc. Watery, sweet watermelon, with a touch of litchi next to a huge bouquet of fresh flowers.

bright, fresh, and clean lychee & watermelon sorbet with dewy florals and cloud like musks. Almost feels like ice cream in a drying machine, it’s got that freshly musky scent of dried linen. The fruits here lean sweeter rather than fresher, the florals also having a clean touch to them and a dewy undertone. a simple fruity floral that’s simply just lovely

need to do an extended wear test but i am really enjoying this so far ~ very juicy fruity shampoo vibes, kind of reminiscent of crushed fruits by RDF but less pulpy(?) and a little more soapy/ synthetic not usually a fan of watermelon notes in fragrance but this is really well done

This unfortunately is really sharp and sour on me. And it smells like a shower gel from bath and body works in the 2000s. Definitely for teenagers
