T-shirt and jeans. Lounging in a hammock with the perfect refreshing beverage. A long drive in the sunshine. Smyth is warm and sweet and enticing, juicy and cheerful. It's relaxed and approachable. A superbly bright fragrance that beautifully highlights the crisp vetiver oil it contains. Smyth encapsulates the feelings I love in a surprisingly simple combination of tart fruits, whispering florals and delicate woods. The green apple, melon and apricot aren't at all overwhelming, or too sweet. They dance around jasmine and white tea to effortlessly reveal the sheer woods and warm amber; vibrant and verdant vetiver oil at the heart. Easygoing and soft, and very breezy. Smyth always makes me happy. It's a lovely and quiet wear that sits close to the skin. The delicate brightness doesn't last incredibly long, but I've owned this several times and always enjoy it. My favorite from the Henry Rose line.

I love Smyth so much :) The notes are similar to Light Blue but clean and pure. I love the apple and lime, and the fruity notes are balanced with the depth of a slight woody note in the background. (When sprayed on skin, there's just a hint of wood, but if sprayed on clothes, the woody notes are stronger, so that is something to consider based on what you're going for. I prefer to spray on skin so the woody notes are quieter.) As it's clean (and legit), it might need to be reapplied midday, but this scent does project and last better than most clean fragrances. This is my favorite perfume, tied with Jake's House by the same brand! It's like an earthy slushie :)

Crisp, cozy and safe. This is probably the least sensitivity-triggering fragrance in my collection, which I wasn't expecting because it does have a hint of floral in the notes! But I pretty much only smell the apple and sorbet + musk and a bit of woods. I, too, enjoy spritzing this on after a shower and before bed, and it's the only one I can stand to sleep in. Longevity isn't there, but that isn't a big deal for me as I prefer lighter scents anyway. If you have fragrance sensitivities and/or allergies and have been looking for a fresh everyday scent, give this one a go!

Smyth is so light and refreshing I love to wear this one around my house. No projection whatsoever though genuinely a skin scent, but i don't mind because it's so refreshing and uplifting. I get the apple and watery notes but it does fade very fast I'd say within an hour 2 hours tops. Lovely as can be but I'm glad I only got the trial size not sure for the price if it would be genuinely full bottle worthy.

I really like this one even with a calone note. Fruity opening, super pretty, clean, iso e musk drydown. Smells fancy. I have a little sample and everytime I wear it, during the drydown I ask myself what perfume I'm wearing bc it smells expensive and put together. $100 for a 50ml. Maybe.

I've been wearing Smyth since it first came out. I smell the green apple from start to finish plus other notes I can't identify. The combination is great for summer. I get a decent amount of longevity but that may be because my juice is 5-6 years old so has had lots of time to macerate.

I thought I would love this one a lot but was kind of disappointed. The initial crisp apple sent was beautiful but it disappears so quickly. The dry down has a strong woodsy scent, definitely can smell the white woods in here. It was okay but not something I would purchase.

Tart and sweet green apple, powdery musk, a dash soapy sandalwood layered with white tea leaves - who knew this combination would be so addictive! It’s clean, fruity, youthful, so refreshing you wish you could slurp it right out of the bottle. 09/10

I love the opening. It's fresh-picked apples while still in the orchard. Yet, it quickly disappears and becomes a light, fruity, floral scent with a hint of Iso E. Iso E can be overwhelming on my skin, but here it's subtle and nicely blended. I like it, especially enjoy that it's light and fresh. I don't come across many fresh scents that truly capture my attention. Unfortunately, it's almost too light. I'm not a "smell me from the other room" fragrance wearer, but I did want a bit more projection, especially of those top notes that disappeared much too quickly. I wish I could bottle those fresh, dewy apple top notes alone. Maybe with some woodiness, as long as those top notes stuck around longer. I'd even take them as a simple "skin, but better" fragrance. As is, I'm left with a nice but somewhat lacking dry down. If this were gifted to me, I wouldn't be disappointed, and I'd definitely wear it. Yet, I can't see myself purchasing a full bottle on my own. I still see Smyth as a commendable addition to the Henry Rose perfume house. Out of the 12 fragrances I've tried from HR, there's only one that I wildly dislike. I find that impressive.

First it starts sharp and fresh. It eventually (pretty quickly) develops into something a little more warm and rounded. But in that process of switching from sharp to warm, it goes a little sour before it reaches that full developed scent. And I am not sure if that souring is supposed to be a part of the experience or if it's because of how the formula reacts with my skin. Either way, it is a pretty nice fragrance and one of the better ones from this house. But its not the apple scent I'm looking for.

This smells like a crisp clean shirt on a freshly showered man you trust. This frag is very subtle with almost zero projection or sillage. I wore it yesterday and the apple notes were much more pronounced, today I'm getting zero apple, maybe vague lemon? and the musk factor is more prominent. Overall an extremely subtle "soft wood" or musk is the predominant smell, and there is a watery vibe in there as well.

green apple upon spray overall really pretty in between meaning not too childish like kool aid or a fruit punch and obviously not that "mature". i usually like scents that tell more story and are a lot more sensual or sexy but this is refreshing. i don't mind it. once the apple goes away i do smell white tea and white woods maybe a bit of fruit melon or apricot nectar, i cant tell. its pretty clean

Like a green apple Jolly Rancher floating on a cloud of peach blossoms, pineapple, and jasmine. Dries down to a clean sandalwood/balsam scent, with an ever so slight smack of insect repellent. Update a day later: the longevity is poor. I keep reapplying, but the scent just doesn't seem to last. You almost have to use your imagination to smell it after maybe one hour.

This one is lovely but a very, very, light fragrance. Almost opposite of other Henry Rose scents like Torn or Last Light. This is, to my nose, a tart and sweet fresh green apple with hints of peach. Likely wouldn't offend anyone, and would be safe to overspray. Sits close to the skin. Not sure of longevity yet. Sits in the same circle as D&G Light Blue.

This is a strong like. It's one of the best clean, fresh scents I've experienced. It doesn't get undone by a clashing base note, and it lasts about 6 hours. Sillage is close to arm length. I think this would work well and get compliments in workplaces where people are sensitive to fragrance.

I love this so much. It’s like a more grownup, sophisticated DKNY Be Delicious. Perfect for year round, inoffensive for work, and just a great everyday fun scent to have in your collection.

I don’t know if I like this or not because I have to use my imagination to smell it. I really do like subtle fragrances but no.

I used to not like this. Now I think it's charming... sweet and clean... reminds me of a nice shampoo

Man, I wish I was smelling the fragrance Henry Rose promises with Smyth. I find Smyth to be pretty musty overall, like something damp and a shadow of its former glory. I really wanted a bright, juicy, photorealistic apple note from this, but alas this just doesn't deliver. I'm surprised to see so many fruit notes - especially pineapple - here, when I feel like there is just a vague suggestion of something artificially and generically fruity, somewhat waxy, underneath the main profile. I agree with others that this is pretty muddled and doesn't seem to have any real direction or cohesion. The struggle doesn't last long, though, because this scent has pretty poor longevity that goes beyond just a close-wearing scent. I have worn this before and knew I needed more sprays than average; 6-8 sprays and four hours later, I have to hold my shirt up to my nose to smell anything and even then I barely smell it. I bought a full bottle a while ago when I thought I really liked this. Happy to sell it to a good home. 5.5/10.

A blast of crisp, green apple, then it settles to a beautiful scent that I was ready to love, had it not been gone, completely, in under an hour. 30 minutes tops on skin, with your nose pressed to it to find the scent. Less than an hour on clothes..., gone..., nothing lingers. What a disappointment. What a complete waste of $120.00. I feel robbed. They could have at least had the decency to use enough oils and ingredients to make it at least be body spray strength🤬

Sweet apple, like a red delicious...but that fades quickly. Something in the drydown i do not like. I do not like iso super E... probably that undefinable note I don't care for. My least favourite Henry Rose.. Not much to it and it doesn't last. It's probably meant to layer on top of something else. Because on its own, there isn't much there.

Deliciously crisp green apple opening. Dry down quickly bcms a dusty display bowl of artificial Granny Smith’s. Disappointing. 😕

This started out with a great, bright apple scent that didn't seem artificial at all (the brand boasts using non-toxic ingredients), but after maybe 20 minutes, all that stayed was a strong, white floral scent that I disliked. The branding didn't mention any florals, just apple, watery notes, and white woods, so I came to fragrantica to see it was star jasmine. I am particularly sensitive/allergic to jasmine flowers in life, so it seems that I am also quite sensitive to them in "natural" branded perfumes as well. The scent was quite nice, but too strong and not to my personal taste at all. Unsure of lasting power because I needed to take it off

My sister in law really likes this one and she wears Light Blue by DG, which I'm not a fan of. They both have green apple and that maybe why I do not like either perfumes. At least w/ this one I don't get the headache I do w/ Light Blue so I hope my sister in law switches to this perfume. If you like these type of bright, fruity scents this one is well done and I would love to see people who like these types of scents switch to this one. There is a balsamic quality in the dry down that is appealing. It is not sharp, just crisp, clean and a good scent for summer.

"Confused" is the adjective that most comes to mind after sampling this. It starts off as fruity with the green apple, which fades very quickly; it's then dominated by the Iso E Super, the jasmine, and the musk. And there are aquatic notes too. I don't really know what they were going for here, but it just seems all over the place. Nothing really combines into a harmonious whole. It's almost instructive to sample this, because it makes me appreciate all the more the hard work of making a fragrance cohere from multiple different notes when it's done properly.

I won this off a thrift store auction site. It smells like it's already gone off so I can't say if I ever would've liked it but maybe be careful buying it second hand as it doesn't seem to have a long shelf life (judging by my bottle). The notes looks beautiful and I wish I could've smelled it fresh.

I do like the scent for all 20 seconds that I can smell it... and then poof, gone. It’s a nice clean scent - citrusy apple with some musk from what I can smell. Wish it lasted longer. I’ve been much more impressed by some of their other perfumes.

I love Henry Rose, but this is my least favorite from the house. Feels like a juvenile, sticky, sour candy apple, with no depth or longevity.

I have been on the hunt for a photorealistic Granny Smith. Specifically, I dream of a slightly citric acid-y, fizzy, crisp green apple that just barely sweetens close to the skin, so I was really excited to see these notes amidst a sea of baked apple cinnamon fall-gourmands (yak). In my dreams, Smyth was gonna be the sort of refreshing, dewy apple orchard scent that Wilbur might’ve enjoyed from the view of his outdoor wooden trough in Charlotte’s Web. I wanted it to smell like, “Salutations!” On first spritz, the green apple is immediately apparent and just as fleeting. After that, I was forced to repent for my naive, fruit-gourmand loving ways at the olfactory guillotine that is this perfume’s strong Iso-E-Super accord. I think I just need to accept that I have a sensitivity to it. What was for a moment the bright, juicy bite of summer that I was promised quickly devolved into a tinny, sharp buzz. To my nose, Iso-E-Super almost always reads as harsh, grating and sort of frenetic. I had the distinct metaphysical experience of being herded from my nice cute farm into one of those stressful metal trailers used to transport farm animals. Unfortunately, not a blue-ribbon scent for me. It honestly felt a little stressful to wear. Like, I’m squealing!! Let me out of this metal box!! My own personal scent-sitivities aside, I had no clue where this perfume was going. It felt a little confused about itself to me. Like, is he Some Pig, or just some pig? I dunno. This little piggie is crying wee-wee-wee all the way back to square one of her green apple perfume search.

I really enjoy the tart green apple opening as a mood lifter and energizer. I put 5+ sprays all over on the way out the door and know I won’t be offending anyone. Nothing cloying here, just fresh and light. Perfect when you want to be casual and other perfumes just feel like too much. I waited until fall to wear this (because apples) but then realized it is really more suitable as a happy summer scent. No, it doesn’t last long. I believe it stops projecting after about an hour or two; but keep in mind this brand doesn’t use toxic chemicals and all the stuff that makes those other perfumes stick around forever. I feel safe spraying this all over and then cuddling with my kids.

It smells just like Salon Selectives hairspray from the 90s at the initial spray—which for me is a good thing. I get the sparking pear and melon, which is not normally my thing but in this case it’s quite refreshing. I was really hoping for a much stronger whiff of the base notes, especially ISO E and musks, but they are undetectable on me. I get a soft white tea, but that’s not particularly what I’d like to smell like. I’d love this if it was dirtied up in the base notes and if it was much stronger it would be a definite keeper.

Crisp airy apples floating around with ISO E molecules. I wear this on its own or layered with HR Queens and Monsters for a chocolate covered apple vibe. Smyth could stick around a bit longer, but it’s not a deal breaker for me. Very reminiscent of Salon Selectives shampoo from the early 90’s. I loved that smell so much as a little girl, so there’s some nostalgia here for me.

This is a sheer, tasteful fragrance. The apple lends it an easygoing wholesomeness. That's the most prominent note, and the most interesting. Its other elements are somewhat muddled - a standard melange of fruit, musks, and florals. It's totally inoffensive and would make for a nice springtime office scent. It's functional but not special.

I love apple frags and had high hopes for Smyth, but there's just nothing here. I get some apple and then....nothing. It's gone in a blink...no development, no drydown, no lingering base. Just apple and then "poof"...gone. i found loves in Flora Carnivora and Queens and Monsters, but Smyth was a total bust.

Did I get a bad batch or something because I bought the roll on and it smells like rubbing alcohol....I was excited to try this too, and I think either something is wrong with mine or it just smells bad to me. I’m so sad I don’t get that sparkling melon or apple...

My go-to after shower / bedtime fragrance. A delightful burst of crisp apple. Instantly refreshing. However, its charm swiftly fades as the scent dissipates within a mere 15 minutes. Disappointing, but I've managed to integrate it into my routine.

Agree with another reviewer who says this smells like an adult version of DKNY's "Be Delicious," which I totally wore in high school and loved. I wish it lasted longer! Honestly, just after 30 minutes the apple scent is barely there.

I really like this! I kept smelling it on my arm and it reminds me of something that I already have...Toy 2 (Moschino) and Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume! Wow. If I layered the latter two, it gives me Smyth...maybe about 80%.

I have no idea what others are smelling at all. I only smell a very slight apple scent while the rest of it smells strongly of expo markers 😫😭... I wish I could smell what you guys are smelling!!!

Fresh and light and easy. Close to skin scent, as all of Henry Rose frags seem to be. Easy to wear.

Not a fan of this mishap. So many notes competing with the apple. ✨
