Windows Down

Henry Rose brand was on my radar for a while, but I never had a chance to try it or order the discovery set. Sadly, testers weren't available at the nearby stores. Fortunately, I received 2 samples with my recent Nordstrom purchase and realized I was definitely missing out. Wow! Windows Down is an absolutely stunning scent. Love at first sniff. It smells natural, fresh, light, uplifting. Tea gives it nice relaxing quality. Citruses give it freshness and energizing quality. When I smell this scent, I imagine spring when nature starts to blossom, air is crisp, clean, and lush. You open the windows to let this air in. It's like being in a spring park or garden in bloom. What is it similar to? I'd put it in the vicinity of Roger & Gallet The Vert, Aqua di Parma Arancia di Capri/Bergamotto di Calabria, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, Dior Homme Cologne. It's similar to Moss by Commodity but I find Moss more green and aromatic. I love this fragrance to the point when I'm ready to ditch all my other daytime scents and keep only this one fragrance as my daytime scent. It's versatile: I can wear it to work, for other casual occasions, and to formal events. I don't think anyone would be offended by this scent (unless people find tea and citrus scents unpleasant). And the main selling point to me: it doesn't contain potential carcinogens, endocrine disruptors and phthalates, so it's a perfect option for those who care about choosing healthier products for themselves and those around them. I love the transparency about ingredients. All of that without compromising the quality of the scent - it's fabulous! I don't understand the low rating - what is it about this scent to dislike? Do yourself a favor, and get yourself the discovery set. You're welcome.

I love this Henry Rose scent. (It's my #2 favorite from the brand with Torn and Dark is Night being #1 and #3, respectively). This is fresh, energizing grapefruit citrus - not too sweet. It smells amazing all day and I love how it changes - I had to give it more of a chance because at first the citrus top notes were all I could smell and I was more drawn to other Henry Rose scents, thinking they were more complex...but if you just wear Windows Down and give it a chance - it is much more interesting than at first sniff. I smell bergamot, grapefruit, floral and tea notes, and it's grounded with light woodiness and musk. The marketing (and name "Windows Down") for this scent evoke a sense of Summer and freedom - I definitely get that vibe from this scent. Unisex, chic, clean, uplifting scent. I've been wearing it a lot now that it's warmer weather when I want a fresh perfume. Chanel Chance Eau Vive reminds me of this but with a sweet feminine vibe - love that one too. Windows Down leans unisex/masculine.

This fragrance hits all of the right notes for me, and I think it could actually be one of my favorite fragrances of all time. The tea note is forward but not overly so, giving it some depth and complexity, and the white flowers and musks make it alluring. I actually bought a travel size of this as a gift for my friend after sampling it, as I felt like it would have been something she would like. I didn't buy one for myself initially because I was there to buy the gift and wanted to exercise self-restraint, but I sampled it again after she opened the gift and I liked it so much that I ended up going back to the store and getting a travel size for myself. I normally don't buy full sizes unless I finish a travel size, which doesn't happen often for me just because I have so many travel sizes and rotate them. However I think I will be buying the full size of this once I finish my travel size.

This scent IS earl grey to me. This is a steeping mug of black tea with a squeeze of lemon in it. Perfect for a Spring day after it's rained. Very light and girly This is a great work/class scent that isn't too offensive for a professional setting but still a compliment-magnet. People have complained about the projection and longevity on this which I totally understand, but for a daytime practical scent I feel like this accomplishes exactly what I need it to accomplish. This just has to do with personal preference, mine being to wear something out that isn't too offensive, something I can smell on my arm throughout the busy day to bring me some calm. THAT BEING SAID if anyone has any tips / layering combos that make this last longer PLEASE gimme <3

Windows Down Henry Rose: The first spray can have a strong, sharp, fresh spicy smell so you should spray it in areas that is far from ur nose and let the sillage reach ur nose instead. At first use, i spray it on my sternum and its warfing a bit too much on my face. its definitely stronger than i thought. but as that first waft dissipates it smells really nice, like a sexy, comfy rose bath with candles, good wine and a book to read. The top note doesn't stay long, probably because of citrusy notes, but thankfully I'm not that big of a fan of this mix. The middle note, which smells like bergamot and rose in iced tea, stays and makes you feel so sexy and relaxed at the same time. It's a complex fresh, mildly bitter smell. Definitely a favorite now.
