Blood Cedar

this is truly a delectable scent, and i wear it frequently. it is photorealistic wood, catching a whiff of what you question is the tailend of a bushfire rows of trees in the distance. on my skin, the incense morphs from a suggestion into more of an active participant as time passes, making for a good 'afternoon to evening' transition. each time that i take the vial of this out, i huff at it how a blind cocaine user would huff at a mirror in search of their line. if you enjoy walking nature trails for the smell and sleeping with a small stick of incense burning, then you will go coocoo for cocoa puffs over blood cedar. i live under the poverty line, and even i am considering burning the money on a full bottle of this. that being said, this does not project beyond arms length, nor does its longevity impress, as i have yet to see a fragrance from heretic parfum do. this house is frankly quite shite in terms of performance, which is deeply unfortunate, as they create many showstopper fragrances. i am also yet to use this in particularly hot weather, considering the season in my region, though i doubt that this would be a charmer when combined with sweat; it is best suited for cold or lukewarm weather.

I am not a lover of cedar and a hater of vetiver, so naturally when I ordered the Blood Box, I expected to dislike this scent. To my surprise, I love it, it's my second favorite after Dragon's Blood. Heretic never misses for me. I can see where they are going with the whole collection, although all four scents are different, there is a certain ~haunting~ quality that ties them together, making them recognizably Heretic's. All four scents work very well with my skin chemistry, too, which is amazing. This is pine forest on a late afternoon, when the sun is starting to set. The weather is dry and the wind carries the resinous scent of the woods far. I have ~literally~ been in a forest that smells like this.

This fragrance is the epitome of what a sexy man smells like (imho). SO much so, that I want to spray it on myself for the sense of woody warmth and comfort it brings (like said sexy man is giving me a strong hug, haha). This is the type of fragrance you want to keep huffing throughout the day. It is obviously quite a masculine scent but can be worn by women in cooler months. This is a fragrance that I would absolutely spray inside all of my fall/winter jackets, so that the scent can waft and wrap around me whenever I put the jacket on and head outside. Only drawback is that it IS pricey for something that I feel I could try to emulate with essential oils at home...but who knows.

I absolutely ADORE this fragrances. It was my first niche buy ever when I was clueless. I've had a chance to compare it to quite a few woody scents now and it's still my signature winter scent. It's dark and rich like a primeval conifer forest. No light here, no civilization...sublime.

I loved this scent and would absolutely buy something bigger than a sample if it didn't vanish on me so quickly! Beautiful resinous woods that bring to mind walks out in the bush. Did incredible things to my jumper when the smell lingered.
