Dirty Gardenia

Subtle and soft but not overly sweet. Genuine gardenia, and a bit messy as the name suggests. I only got a sample but this is definitely going on my “to buy” list.

Dirty Gardenia smells wonderful! Imagining yourself walking into a bouque store and was welcomed by waves of floral fragrance, that's what Dirty Gardenia reminds me of when applying it on my wrist. Unfortunately, it stays very close to the skin for an EdP. Spraying it on the clothes, however, is another story - it lasts and lasts. I get whiffs of Gardenia throughout day! Dirty Gardenia itself leans very much towards a female perfume, but when layering it with other green/woody fragrances (Dirty Grass, Grey Vetiver, etc.), the combination becomes an interesting male-leaning fragrance. I enjoy it very much!

This is a nice scent but with zero lasting power, unfortunately. The “dirty” earthiness to the white florals really make it unique, there’s almost a bubblegum quality to it too. This reminds me of my childhood in the Philippines walking through the sampaguita vendors after mass.

This is very nice. Heretic tends to take an almost perverse pleasure in defying its names - a dirty ruse for "Dirty Rose", a fig-less "Dirty Fig", but here it plays by the rules. This is a true and very beautiful gardenia with a hint of earth, largely in the form of a fluffy timur note. The other listed notes are notional - I'd love the notable presence of green pepper and vetiver - but over all, Dirty Gardenia is a pleasant fresh-earthy interpretation of its central flower. Like most Heretic fragrances, its sillage is light, but it intimately hugs my skin all day.
