Dirty Grapefruit

I am a big fan of Grapefruit scents, especially when the grapefruit note pairs with vetiver and cedar. Dirty grapefruit from Hertic Parfum has all that I love, but it is not what I expected. I think the grapefruit note here interestingly isn't too fresh or clean that are commonly used to describe any citrus notes. It is much dryer than fresh grapefruit peels but feels luxurious and elegant pairing with vetiver. I do wish the grapefruit note last longer than 20 min. After that, I can't distinguish it from "Dirty Grass", another wonderful scent from Heretic Parfum.

For an all-natural, citrus-based perfume, this is quite long-lasting. It is, however, all-natural and citrus-based, so you should temper your expectations regarding longevity for this one. Very fresh, mouthwatering citrus at opening. Unlike other reviewers, I continue to get citrus notes for a few hours, but the citrus does quickly quiet down to allow the rose and vetiver to come forward. To me the rose leans almost into edible territory and lends an almost berry-like quality to the scent. Cedar and vetiver give a nice earthy backbone.

This opens with a strong, industrial-grade grapefruit, the result of essential oils and alcohol. The scent quickly dries down to a citrusy, herbal rose - rosier, in fact, than Heretic's misnamed Dirty Rose. I don't find it quite as vetiver-heavy as other reviewers, that note's dry grassiness tempered by something damper and earthier to my nose. It's bracing and fresh, and yes, short-lived, but that's par for the course with naturals, particularly those heavy in citrus. There are some Heretic fragrances that I very much love; Dirty Grapefruit is middling but respectable.

Besides the opening burst of wonderful crisp grapefruit with a little herby musk.. it fades within ten minutes to a faint smell that honestly reminded me of potpourri and cardboard? I want to love it so bad though.
