Dirty Grass

Smells intensely green. The pungent bitter green of the galbanum and wet earthiness of vetiver are by far the most prominent notes, with a vague background spiciness and the tartness of the lemon. I find this very uplifting in the cold dark winter months; it transports me to a warm sunny field of fresh grass. It's also divine in the summertime, and definitely feels more like a summer scent. I feel so cool and unique wearing it. It does have an ever-so-subtle tinge of fresh, unsmoked pot scent to it (I don't think wearing this runs the risk of anyone thinking you'd just smoked a joint, though) - I would say this just adds to the intense green scent. I've never felt any of the purported effects of the CBD. Whether this is because of the low dose from a few sprays or because I regularly smoke pot (or because all the hype around topical CBD is bunk) I couldn't say.

Blind-bought the 15ml, which says it has 150mg CBD per bottle. The box suggests 3-4 pumps at pulse points around the neck for full effect, but I just wanted a first impression of the scent and spritzed one pump on the back of my hand. So far, I love the extreme green, slightly resiny galbanum and cut grass scent. There were lots of morphs in the first minute, the lemon peel coming out at first and quickly disappearing. I'm actually glad to not be getting much spiciness or pink pepper, just some rounding out of the golden resin sharpness probably by the coriander. So far, I don't find this smoky (I usually expect campfire smoke like cade or bourbon if something says it is smoky), and it lacks any sweetness if you are thinking of cut grass in a hay or lawn sense, which is fine with me! The simplicity might make it easier to layer with others.

I have tried several fragrances from Heretic Parfum, and Dirty Grass is my favorite. The opening is very green and smells like cut grass. I don't sense lemon and don't know what to expect from Hemp CBD. The spiciness notes are there, but the presentation is mild and won't sting your nose. I love vetiver; the basenote vetiver in Dirty Grass is just prominent and lovely! The thought to have a fragrance develops from freshly cut grass opening to dry down vetiver is just clever. It is unique, and I really enjoy it! I can't stop sniffing my wrists and shirt! [Edit: I really enjoy this Dirty Grass and bought a full bottle! Although I have to agree that it is way more expensive than it should have been. Very green, very vetiver, very very lovely!]

Big fan of this one, smells like you're laying face down in a grassy forest in the middle of nowhere. Theres some citrus plants nearby, some flowers, dirt, and it's very pleasant and tranquil. Very natural, actual grass smell that is refreshing and addicting. Unfortunately performance isn't that great (it's definitely more of a "for me" scent) but very enjoyable nonetheless

I get so much mulch from this fragrance, wood and dirt and fresh cut lawn clippings. It's so fresh it's nearly carrot-like in essence. Herbal and bright, I can't stop smelling this scent. While it's not my favorite to wear, it's one of my favorites to smell.

So far my favorite and best performing of the "dirty" fragrances from Heretic. A citrus and green explosion, it has a staying power that is longer than many of Heretic's other fragrances. Clean, crisp, lively.

Vetiver bomb. And a pleasant one at that. A skin scent, but longer lasting than expected. Makes me feel a bit like a fat electrician.

I tried many grass scents and this one is my favorite! It's true to its name and it smells like dirty grass. Perfection.

This is an interesting fragrance, and one that I'm somewhat on the fence about. I was expecting a much greener, fresh cut grass experience, but on my skin the scent is dominated more by pink pepper and coriander than the grassy galbanum I was anticipating to be the star of the show. The base of vetiver works nicely to soften the aromatic pepperiness, and the galbanum is present, but it's a lot more subtle than expected. It's not bad by any means, but it's not what I'd usually gravitate towards. Thankfully I'm not detecting any of the gasoline some people have reported. 7/10

Walking into a trendy overpriced vegan restaurant or grocery shop in Los Angeles and you will find a Sexy Juice & Smoothie Bar. When you approach you will walk into an aura of green, hydrating, uplifting possibilities. Could I be a green juice girly who hikes all day instead of having a day job? Quite possibly! It also reminds me of all the Jamba Juices in the early 2000’s when they just discovered wheatgrass shots. I really do love this scent and could see craving it for specific moods. But it’s not a full bottle for me.

Quite strong at first and not in a great way. However, leaving it to settle on the skin for about an hour makes it a much nicer fragrance where a lot more of the sweetness comes out to balance the scent. Overall, it's not something I'd wear everyday but to a special occasion where you want to be noticed. Overall, I enjoy it, but with the price tag, I'm glad I just have the sample and will not be sad when I run out.

I like this one a lot, but sometimes I need a break from it and I have to be in the mood for it. Sometimes it gives me more of a chemical whiff, other times it's freshly cut wet grass. Not sure if that has to do with my skin (bodywash etc), but there are times when this scent is nasty and times when it's amazing, all from the same bottle x'D

Galbanum is one of my favorite notes ever, and this scent is screaming with it. The vetiver is a beautiful pairing for this delightful springtime green scent. Dirty Grass is truly genderless — my husband and I both love it equally. Full bottle worthy—just don’t expect the CBD to actually do anything!

Vetiver's tendency to dominate other scents is beautifully hindered by the fresh citrusy notes. I don't get the bitterness of a freshly cut lawn like other comments say but I do get a bright, verdant springtime. It's a lovely, simple, beginner-friendly scent.

This is so unique. It literally smells like country grass, like walking through a forest. I love it. Its not a crowd pleaser, but its very refreshing and takes me back to the outdoors even when I havent been able to get away for a while.

This smells wonderful – very green and a little spicy. I looooove the galbanum. But it doesn’t last and doesn’t project at all. Truly unisex and very agreeable. This would be a great daytime/office scent.

Smells like lemon zest over a freshly-grown lawn, with something green and spicy towards the end. It's a bit too masculine for me personally but I do enjoy it.

The marketing copy is all about pot and CBD, but to me this smells pleasantly like mowing the lawn.

Like this scent for layering with other light fragrances that I want to take a sweet edge off of.

Testing blind, this fragrance opens with a light air of plant-like greenness, settling into a drier and fairly lowkey vetiver-leaning kiln smokiness, with some bitter green shavings in the background. However, it is so low key and thin feeling, I pretty much forgot it. So, looking at the notes - yeah it's a shy vetiver. While the pink pepper and Galbanum provide some characteristics, lemon and violet apparently left out of boredom. I mean even I forgot what I was here. While it lasted throughout the day at a very intimate skin level, it was like a long-lasting weed all alone , bored and unimpressed,even with itself. I expected more.

Eh, I've tried better grassy scents. I was hoping this was going to be more of a 'fresh cut grass with an earthy undertone' but this is more like 'grass used to wipe the mud off my shoes'. Not my thing. It lasts alright and projects ok. I did layer it with bergamusk, also by heretic, and it was better, so maybe there's layering potential but for the price and how little I like it by itself, I still don't think it's worth it.

I love it at first spray, but not huge on the dry down. I always have to pair it with Nosferatu so it doesn't smell so... dry and hot. I don't know how else to describe the scent. I think it must be how my nose picks up coriander, likely due to being paired with vetiver (which is a real hit or miss for me). That being said, HIGHLY recommend pairing with Nosferatu if you're looking for something closer to freshly cut grass.

this is basically vetiver with faint whispers of some other stuff. i wish i could give this a rating between "like" and "ok" because i really do like how this smells quite a bit, but i think that's just because i really like vetiver. if i'm being honest it's truly nothing terribly special on its own. i can see myself layering this with dirty hinoki a lot but probably not wearing it by itself very often.

Wow it smells just like grass. They nailed it. Just like a fresh mowed lawn. I don't think I'll wear it but I'm glad I got the sampler as an experience. This is such a great photorealistic scent. I can imagine people wearing this that had many fond memories around grass with loved ones.

for all the hype about cbd, not a hint of a weed smell. opens very wet-lawn, on me the drydown becomes something like a christmas tree (not like a christmas tree scented candle, but the actual tree). i wear it a bit in winter but it's kind of one-note, wears off within a couple hours.

The opening smells ~exactly~ like freshly picked sorrel :D my grandma used to grow it in her garden, so I know the smell very well. It's fun. Dries down to more of a freshly moved grass, which is also alright. I am a hater of vetiver, but surprisingly, I am ok with this scent.

Like a freshly mowed lawn! It's got the cut grass, slight petrol note, and lemon zest. This is what suburbia smells like.

So I decided to blind buy 50 ml of Heretic's Dirty Grass last year from Twisted Lily. I have never tried any CBD products so I thought I would give this one a try. Supposedly there is 500mg of full spectrum CBD oil contained in the 50 ml bottle. I'm not sure what I expected but nothing happened. I didn't feel more relaxed even with four sprays to my chest. The opening was very off-putting because you can immediately smell the CBD oil. It's a very dank odor. Perhaps the displeasure from the smell of this fragrance counteracted any relaxation I was suppose to feel. After the initial opening, which lasts for about twenty minutes, the vetiver takes over becoming the most prominent note. At this point the fragrance does smell like dirty grass. I do like the smell of vetiver so once the vetiver kicks in this one isn't that bad. If you like the smell of CBD oil and vetiver you might like this. Projection and longevity were above average on my skin.

On card, this smelled like the back room of a florist - where there are no flowers, just piles of cut stems from bouquets. The sap of a flower stem, basically. It smelled great! Then I tried it on my wrists and immediately recoiled :( Something in my skin chemistry doesn't agree with Dirty Grass. It became a coriander BOMB, bearing no resemblance at all to what I'd smelled on card. I can cope with coriander in most perfumes I've smelled it in, but this was like sticking my face straight into a bucket of coriander oil. Had to scrub it off my wrists, but thankfully it came off relatively easily. Not a safe blind buy, very glad I got a sample! I'll be sticking to Lush's Grass for now. edit: gave it to my partner to try, and on them it's the same lovely notes as on the card! so definitely a skin chemistry issue

Grassy, but dry and in a wood cabinet. It's brown and brittle. Sour from age. I don't like the vetiver in this. It's the most prominent along with the spices. Doesn't smell dirty.

Oof. This is the first sample I've tried in the discovery set, and I'm hoping the others improve... Smells like gasoline-drenched grass that's been ejected from a lawn-mower. Not the interpretation of "dirty" I was expecting/hoping for, especially when there are so many appealing grass scents (e.g. the green tea smell of freshly cut hay). I've been trying to wash this off my arm for the last two hours.

This fragrance is so jarring to the nose and I can't explain it but to me it smells like food. It genuinely makes me sick to my stomach.

This is an incredibly pungent vetiver bomb with some lemon, coriander, galbanum, and medicinal notes. It's just intensely green and forceful, and is a scent that I respond better to on some days than others. As for the CBD, I'm not convinced that this panacea du jour does much in this context. I guess there's some evidence that its topical application is good for pain, but I don't suffer from pain, let alone on my pulse points, and I'm not sure what the concentration included in a trendy perfume would do, anyway. Vetiver lover that I am, over-spraying this monster would be treacherous, so the amount of CBD would be fainter still. If you're looking for a full-bodied vetiver, this is an excellent choice. In my non-professional opinion, though, the medical claims are dubious.

I was a little scared to smell this since a lot of other reviews described it as gasoline-smelling. However, I didn’t find that to be the case. I really loved it and am considering buying a full bottle. The best way to describe it is like smell of a grass-stained jersey, in the best way possible. It’s very green and herbal with a moderately strong citrus note. It’s not a bright smell however, as it has musk and warmth to ground it.

I like this at first spray. I figured like many of Heretic's perfumes it would pop off, disappear for about 45 minutes and then sort of settle in. But this literally vanished, had no silage and sadly that initial blast was it. So, so sad. It didn't last on my skin at all. Just totally gone.

Ok this is really good. What I was wanting from a grass fragrance- bright green, freshly mowed grass but also kind of soapy and fresh. Oof. I love vetiver so much and this isn't overhwelmed by it, but a companion of differing grass to create a grass medley.

this hit almost like insect repellant at first but it dries down to a warm grassy scent. i love using this as a base layer under more floral or bright scents, its great for muting feminine scents down to something more gender neutral.

You HAVE to let this sit before smelling it. It is not a blind buy and takes a few seconds to become beautiful. But those are the longest seconds of your life. It almost turned my stomach upside down. But the dry down was lovely.

This is my favorite from my custom discovery set. I love how the citrus and peppery notes blend. When it dries down on my skin, it smells like an aromatic garden after the rain.

Is no one else getting straight up skunk-type cannabis from this? Am I the only one? I'm not mad about it, actually. I kinda like it. But yeah, it smells like weed.
