Dirty Rose 2024

At the first spray, it was a fairly strong rose which I didn't like. Then the rose completely faded, and nutmeg, patchouli, and resins came through. I thought: huh, is this it? and prepared to be disappointed. But after waiting for a bit longer, the rose came back! it came back fresher and softer and more realistic. It smells actually so good on my skin, I never thought I would like a rose scent this much. It has an almost petrichor quality to it, like roses in the rain, at a cemetery maybe. Unexpectedly reminds me a little bit of Nosferatu, which is my favorite scent by Heretic. I think I got lucky and it works so well with my skin chemistry. I wish it lasted longer, though...

Most rose perfumes do smell old-fashioned as many have said, but I don’t detect that with this at all. I think it perfectly captures the allure and divinity of the rose. It is more of a wild rose scent—like wild roses among moss and evergreen trees. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. Earthy and mysterious. It smells ancient—in the best way possible—but not old-fashioned. Like roses blossoming in a gentle rain at dawn or dusk, in a Shinto garden with incense wafting by. It smells natural and also expensive, not cheap or like it’s trying too hard to smell expensive.

Love this one! The opening is a bit pungent and animalic, hence challenging for my nose, but once I let it dry down for 30-60 mins, on my skin it turns into a gorgeous fresh rose with musky elements - it almost smells a bit like the pink musk stick lollies I used to eat as a kid.

This may be my new favorite rose scent. Rose and patchouli are definitely the dominant notes here, but the rose has a damp, earthy quality that I love, and it's a really clean scent without venturing into soapy territory.

Sprays on a little sour but dries down to a typical rose scent. Not exciting, but lovely. Good for layering.

Idk what is happening here but my skin chemistry makes it smell kind of like pussy. Love it tho

Testing blind, this opened with muscat grapes, hawthorn bud, and that sweet, slightly catty piss quality found in a good Sauvignon Blanc. At times it shifted into a warmer herby and powdery spice, almost vegetal in character, gradually turning more woodsy as it dried down into kiln-dried cedar, while still carrying the texture of a powdery wall. These different personas reflect that while there's a clear element of rose it more tries to mask itself as something else. By midday, it settled into a dry, powdery, woody spice—like someone cooking hot chilies sprinkled over smoked cedar, while dusting their face with rosy powder. Looking at the notes there's no surprises and you can pull out all of them. It projects fairly strong, getting a compliment midday outside from somebody 3-4 feet away is impressive. Longevity was great as well, leaving an intimate memory of itself the morning after. Overall, while the opening feels unisex, it settles more masculine to me. A moody kind of isolated masculine. Going to galleries or the performing arts by yourself. More of a confident loner than a prowling man on the move. I'd also wear this during evenings of self reflection at home. I mean who needs other people when you can just sit with your own self worth.

This is a nice rose, not too much else to say! It’s airy and flirty with some woody and patchouli notes and a little bit of fruitiness (specifically berries). A hint of fresh musk and a bit of a pine forest vibe. Yet despite all this it smells clean! A good scent to put on after showering for me. The rose has a petal like quality, somewhere in between vintage and modern and very realistic! The patchouli comes out a little more as time goes by.

Beautiful, if a bit simple. Maybe I'll revisit this one more intimately later, but it truly just smells like a nice rose and patchouli combo. I have no bad words to say about it other than it's overpriced for what it is, as finding decent rose and patchouli solo scents to layer isnt hard at all.

I adored this, earthy rose and patchouli. Sadly it disappeared on my skin. I might try it again on a different day and see if I can get it to last longer because I really would love a full size of this.

It smells like a freshly washed bisexual, clean and fresh with mixed masculine and feminine qualities.

I am so conflicted on this scent. The first time I sprayed it, I gagged and threw it across the couch on reflex. It smelled horrifically like body odor, and I wanted nothing more than to boil my arm and try to get it off... One long, hot shower (and subsequent POTS episode) later, I was sitting on the floor of my bathroom, trying to keep the world from spinning too much, when I noticed that the shirt I had been wearing smelled AMAZING. I'm very picky about my rose scents, and I had been so hopeful about this one, so the fact that it dried down to my ideal rose after starting off like THAT is borderline heartbreaking to me, but if you don't mind waiting a bit, it's definitely worth it. Just... Maybe put it like half an hour before you have to go anywhere.

A bit too traditional/ old-fashioned. I do see how they “dirty” it up with the cumin (which adds that BO note to it, pretty gross) but by the time it dries down it’s mostly a straightforward rose fragrance. Compared to Diptyque’s Eau Rose, Dirty Rose lasts much longer, but there’s a youthful greenness in Eau Rose that makes me love it more. Dirty Rose is still a nice fragrance, just not the freshly cut rose scent that I prefer. Also, not sure what the reviewer below is talking about. I ordered Dirty Rose last week and received my tester already.

At first, I get a really lovely fresh spicy rose, and I’m a sucker for rose. However, it quickly (within 15 mins or so) dries down to mostly patchouli and stays that way. I’m not a patchouli hater so I’m fine with this, but it’s nothing exceptional. I have layered it with rose essential oil to keep that scent alive.

i really wanted this to be good but it’s quite acidic and funky and does not smell like it does on paper with my skin chemistry :((

Not my cup of tea, but if you’re looking for rose mixed with a hint of body odor, this is it 😭

a tangy and spiced rose with a slightly citrus backbone in the opening, that morphs into something....funky rather than dirty. Smells almost like BO or just armpit funk, which I suspect is from the combo of elemi resin, patchouli, and labdanum. The rose is there for sure, bright and fresh, but feels dragged down by the “dirty” aspects of the earthy funk and slight resinous undertone. It’s not my cup of tea as I don’t like rose and certainly not a smelly one lol

That cumin starts real strong, and dries down to a Le Labo Rose 31 dupe, and not a particularly good one. Cumin, rose potpourri, a little pine from the Cypriol. A shame. Doesn’t last at all. Not entirely it’s fault- “Plant based” and “organics” often lack fixatives that smooth over and give longevity.

This smells like a pine forest to me. Very witchy . It is a skin scent which surprised me with all the notes listed!
