Maybe don’t get a gothic white floral collection if you think flowers smell like your grandma. It’s quite literally a collection inspired by death. Trends come and go and what your grandma used to wear was trendy and chic at one point. Have some respect for your elders. Some of us actually enjoy florals and all of the different facets that come along with them — pollen, indoles, powder, honey, etc.

I love this. It is unique, and very strong. Yes it smells like funeral home flowers and I DON’T CARE. Give me all the flowers. The quality is immaculate.

Opens with a zesty lime, dries down and becomes an absolutely gorgeous jasmine and mimosa scent!!

Gothic, dusky floral. This is the scent of an octogenarian vampiress. I like inhaling it for the moody vibe. Not sure I want to smell like it.

This one is alright. A little citrus, jasmine and vanilla scent. It’s pretty basic.

More so bathroom cleaner and bug spray than pretty floral. I've been spraying the sample around the house and in my car. It's fresh, so not completely unbearable, but it's just not a freshness I want to smell like. As it dries down, it does get a little more sweet and powdery, but not too much. Overall it stays fresh, green, sharp, and citrusy. Unfortunately a little old lady-ish; I've definitely smelled something like this as one of the older ladies passed by my pew in Sunday mass. You could argue that it's a classic, and I wouldn't disagree, but again it's just not something I want to smell like. Maybe I will in 50 years, just not right now. Out of this collection, I think "Angel's Trumpet" is the most wearable and is probably one of my favourite scents by Heretic. I'll reserve this one as an air freshener.

Fragrance is all about the narrative, and unfortunately, this story takes place in a potting shed rather than a moonlit balcony. The opening is a sharp, acidic lime that immediately veers into insect repellent territory. While I appreciate Heretic's natural approach, the prominent lime masks the jasmine that should be the star of the show.

I was a fan of this house up until Nosferatu gothed out the culture and although there's nothing wrong with that, I believe their marketing is over-hyped. Blind-bought it and instant regret. No depth, no story. Too much citrus. Readers, I've owned a number of Heretics (suit yourself to my history) and all I wanted to love, but I'm afraid it must be something with my body chemistry that is very off-putting. Cactus Abduction is great, just too masculine-leaning for me. Other than Dirty Peach (which I love wearing in summer), I have no interest in buying anymore Heretic.

Honeyed night blooms open pale against absolute black, a luminous vanilla moment, sweet and strange and fleeting the way a face emerges from darkness before the darkness rushes in. Vetiver, dry and dusky and gritty, the black sand of dreams. The mortuary scent of jasmine, a bitter shiver of arsenical wallpapers. The scent of the thing that presides over the voice that whispered your name, and there was no one there, which is worse than if there had been someone. The road that looks different on the way back because something has shifted that you cannot name or locate or defend against. The cat that peers into the shadows and sees what you cannot. The hour between 3 and 4am. The goddess of objectless dread.

Absolutely gorgeous floral. This is for a girly or a woman with a taste and poise. It's not quite same but is a distant cousin to "eau de sens" by diptique. If you enjoy that perfume you might also love this one. I feel like this perfume is every basic gourmand junkie's nightmare.

the opening is more lemon than lime. it's green, sharp, tart, and a touch bitter. once those top notes evaporated, this evolved into a green but gentle beauty. i expected and hoped the jasmine would be louder, but the vetiver was truly the star here!
