The tomato leaf is incorrectly listed as lemon leaf on this page. I absolutely love the smell of tomatoes on the vine, and this scent certainly comes through in Slightly Bitter. For this reason alone, I love this perfume. Definitely more sour than bitter, as the other reviewers have noted. If you enjoy the mouth-watering, lip-puckering scent of true grapefruit, this one is for you. If you're looking for something sweet, look elsewhere. This smells like a veggie garden in the height of summer.

"Slightly Bitter" is probably a better perfume name than "Slightly Sour", but for a pedant like me there's a marked difference, and this is definitely sour. There are plenty of beautifully bitter fragrances, but this isn't one of them. As advertised, it's dominated by realistically tart, lip-puckering citrus, but there's also a nice green, vegetal quality that freshens it up. For me it's not quite a standalone scent, and is nice enough on its own but probably at its best when layered. Heretic's Dirty Lemon is a much more dimensional, complete-smelling scent. Slightly Bitter is not worth the full price to my nose, but Heretic periodically has good sales, and maybe it's worth checking out at a discount.

I like Slightly Bitter most of the time when I wear it. But on some hot days, the citrus notes could turn extremely sour and become less attractive.
