Ambre Encens

So I'm not accustomed to write reviews, but since there is no reviews, I felt obliged to write something. Just to give a bit of background information for my review: I'm male, a smoker and wore it for the first time today while at work. 6 sprays, two on the chest and two under each armpit. The Scandinavian weather was hot and humid. Well, my first thought/reaction was that it reminded me of Filippo Sorcineli's Opus 1144, but more diluted and hence more wearable at work. Its after al an edt. When wearing Opus 1144 (edp) I maximum use 2 sprays. (Edit: it also reminds me of Shalimar Eau de Cologne without the civet) The dominating incense, smells predominately of elemi and the "amber" consists mostly of vanilla (maybe benzoin?), although I also get some patchouli if I concentrate. It seems to be linear, although some muskiness and the vanillic note with its warmth and sweetness comes more forward after a while. While sitting at work I could occasionally get a hint of real incense, so some smokiness seems to be present as well. This realism of burning incense is not something I usually detect with other incense fragrances. Although the scent is a little sweet, it was not nauseating despite the humid weather. I imagine that it would smell even better in colder weather. I will try that when the time comes and give an update. Maybe it will be too weak for the Scandinavian cold? I mean it develops as a skin scent on me after a while and the longevity is less than 6 hours. I perceive the scent as sensual and cozy, but not in a sexy way. I would also say that it is completely unisex if you use, what I think is, the conventional understanding of gender and fragrances in contemporary Scandinavia. I hope my review can give some idea about the nature of the fragrance.
