Hermessence Musc Pallida

If you are Iris Lover & Rich man or women, you have to must buy it. A truly wonderful iris scent would be out of reach of the common people. The essential oil itself is a mixture of earthy odor and vinyl, which is too strange to be used as a perfume. Therefore, by using it as a supporter in combination with flowers and musk etc etc,,, it is a fragrance that demonstrates the true beauty of iris, but the perfume that bears many iris has become a fragrance in which the iris is only a supporting role. People who love the scent of iris but do not want to use the earthy scent of iris itself. However, this scent is recommended for those who want to use perfume in which iris plays a leading role, or at least a quasi-leading role.

It's so gorgeous...! Though the scent smells VERY SIMILAR to Clair De Musc by Serge Lutens once it's in the heart note and base note stage.

There is something very comfortable, or comforting, in Musc Pallida - a bit like a mother's embrace. There is a slightly sweet, almost honey-like quality to the iris here, and the musk gives it a bit of depth. It's a very direct scent - it doesn't develop into anything else (which I say as a positive). I have tried this layered with many of the Hermessence EDTs (but not Oud Alezan which is super potent on its own); it will sometimes extend the life of said EDT, but it often just disappears and I haven't noticed it adding a new dimension (like Cardamusc), so I tend to wear it on its own. It's decently long-lasting (though maybe not what one would expect from a parfum oil). It's a gentle, personal skin scent with almost no sillage that I have observed. I can understand why most votes put this into the more female side, but it works just fine on me (male), so I would say it's unisex leaning more classically feminine (but if you're reading this, you're probably beyond any rigid gender assignments for scents). This is exactly what is says: Iris (though in no way similar to Iris Ukiyoe) + Musk - so if those are notes you like, I'd try this if you're in a boutique or department store that carries it. As other have noted, it would be nice if this had a leather cap like the EDTs. Update: It looks like we're getting an EDT or EDP "regular" Hermessence version of this in 2026.

This pallida musc is a very subtile flowery musc (reminds me of clair de musc SL) One drop from the tiny botlle is enough for 2 applications for both wrists (it's a bit oil/gel texture, you have to rub it in your skin, otherwise staines in your clothes. It's a very soft skinscent, I tried it also in combination withe rose ikebana and it deepens the fragrance, a bit warmer but not sweeter. Still within 3 hours it's gone (the alone application as well as the layering combination) So a bit dissapointed for the very high price.... but still a beautiful present to receive!! p.s. in real the bottle looks a bit cheap because of the metal cap, a pity that it doens't have a beautiful leather cap like the other Hermessences

Powdery iris, rose, and violet suspended in a very clean, very soft-textured white musk. Wears close to the skin, and doesn't project much, but lasts extremely well. It took a few hours to really bloom on my skin; for the florals to poke their noses through the aura of cleanliness. It's worth noting that while a lot of the oils/attars I've seen western perfumery produce feel like imitations of Arabian or Indian styles, this feels quite prim and airy and French. More Chanel than Chennai.
