Kelly Caleche Extrait

The other Kellys (the edt and the edp) are in my top 25 for life on my shelf. They've been loved and worn for years. Of course eventually I had to get the pure parfum/extrait version, since I'd been wearing Kelly for so long. Keep in mind that parfums are not necessarily stronger in projection and scent, but they usually have a certain contained groundedness to them. Kelly Parfum is positively chilly in feel, there are no warm flowers like in the EDP, there is no moss or green tea like in the EDT. Instead there are cold citruses and chilly spring narcissus, with only the barest powdery polleny sweetness given by the mimosa note, considerably dimmed here. The iris is rather lovely, a bit waxy and "lipsticky" in tone, honestly it smells like they used real iris butter and not a synthetic stand in like Irivone or something. It's a nice compliment to the leather which is particularly strong, I think the leather note is the strongest and thickest in this version compared to all 3 Kelly's. And that's it. It wears pronounced, but close to the body, and it's a bit stripped down and austere in personality. I rarely wear this alone, rather if I'm wearing the EDT or EDP at some point I'll layer a few drops just to enjoy a hit of leather and iris. I do really like this, it wasn't what I expected but it's still elegant and beautiful, and I like the bare bones but sturdy structure of it all.

Just got this in the 50 ml pure parfum bottle. I like it well enough, but there is something borderline sour about it that may be off putting for some people. Longevity is good, but sillage is soft. Perfect for in the hair. The bottle is the best part of the 50 ml bottle. Compared to the edp, it is much more powdery and floral. Very classy smelling. A good collector's item. Will experiment with layering due to the performance problem and update. Edit: I actually ended up exchanging this...was just too weak to my nose. If you like the scent, you're probably better off with the edp which lasts and performs better.

Kelly Caleche Extrait is already an extinct beauty that is impossible to forget. I was certainly never a fan of Kelly Caleche edt or edp, but this extract goes far beyond my expectations with leather. It is a masterpiece, a contemporary work of art that shines like the sun on the skin in the open air. Its sillage is silent, its beauty is silent, it is an elusive panther in the jungle of leather perfumes. I love that leather with blades of authentic iris-carrot-root and I also really like that very elegant watery release and the brilliance of citrus gives it so as not to be a suffocating perfume. The sweetness of the mimosa (a flower I love) here pins my knees to the ground. Hermès created this perfume for the Gods, for those of us who cannot even look them in the eye due to its great power...

Not a review but a request. There is a Kelly Caleche pure parfum concentration in 50 ml spray which isn't listed but I have a hunch this is the same thing. There is hardly any info out there about this so if someone could review it that'd be so helpful!
