Un Jardin à Cythère

When I was a little kid in Greece, my grandmother used to be my favourite company and my favourite storyteller. She was living alone, in a village at the suburbs of a small town, having a beautiful house up to the hill. Lots of orange and olive trees surrounded her house, every year she would take care of collecting the olives, even making some olive oil from them and gifted it to us. Whenever we would visit her, the first thing that I would be aware of, would be her smell. A mix of olive tree, olive oil, fresh citruses, but most importantly the smell of "nychaki" (portulaca grandiflora), a very special flower that she would collect herself from the near mountain. She would dry the flowers and then put them into some lace bags in order to fill her closet and a chest with them, where she would store all her clothes. Every single piece of cloth of my grandmother would have that specific smell. Unfortunately when I was just 8 years old, she left us after a chronic battle with mental health problems, that no-one would ever talk or take care of back then, because of the stigma. She and her stories of dragons and princes still stay as a beautiful memory in my heart though. When I first smell Un Jardin à Cythère I was quite shocked with how familiar its smell was. Trying to understand what was going on, it finally hit me: this was the smell of my grandmother, after so many decades of abscence she was again next to me. With her stories, her olive and orange trees, the olives on the table, the olive oil as a gift, the dragons and princes, her "nychaki" bags scenting her clothes, all came out from nowhere. Sometimes scents are so personal - and it is hard to be objective, when a scent brings you to the past. That's my story though and the story of a woman that I still have in my memory. This review is dedicated to her.

Decided to log back in after years and make my first review for this scent. I like it :-) The lemon stands out immediately but not in a way that is overly acidic (which smells rancid on me) or reminiscent of soap. It’s light, refreshing, and reminds me less of perfume and more of just an incidental scent. It is exactly the scent left on you and in the air after you zest a bunch of lemons and squeeze the juice out- fragrant and fresh, not directly like you’re sniffing any part of the lemon itself. It’s softened and incorporated somehow. I credit that to the nutty and olive notes, which emulsifies the punchy aspects into something full bodied and almost creamy or rounded (but not heavy at all). You know the “kiki vs bouba” linguistic experiment? Those notes nudge it towards the “bouba”. I don’t smell the olive or even an oil note at any point. However, after a few hours, the pistachio becomes more prominent on me without the lemon going away (only mellowing). I don’t get a sense of the savouriness on me, it’s just not desserty or explicitly sweet fruity. It just smells citrusy and nutty in a neutral way, and it doesn’t feel gourmand either- just like a real lemon smell that rounds out and blends into the skin. I think a large part of my preference comes from how everything turns slightly sweet/floral and how citrus scents get way too oily/pungent or almost rancid with my skin chemistry. To have something that isn’t at all sweet or floral and melts into the skin is nice. It’s unisex but character wise I’d say it’s youthful and sunny. Pairs perfectly with a breeze and recovering from a vitamin D deficiency. A pretty girl I know said I smelled fresh.

First time posting a review here. I will fully admit I am a poster child for Hermessences. They are one of the few fragrance lines that don't give me headaches, and my ideal perfume is intimate to moderate sillage with good longevity. So I decided to try a few outside the Hermessence range. I hadn't actually planned on trying any of the Jardin series that day, but gave Cythere a squirt last time I was in the boutique. I liked it, and as it dried down I liked it even more. For me the initial scent has some fennel in it (reminiscent of the departed Brin de Reglisse Hermessence) along with the citrus, and some nice green and vegetable scents. Soft and casual. Lovely for a lightweight scent in warm weather. If they shifted the base DNA of it just a hair more away from what lies under the Jardin series, it could be a good contender for the Hermessence line. Now I have a little sample to try out, but I think I'll be adding some J a C in with my other H fragrances. ETA (6/27) Still love it. I even amp up the lemon portion with lemon body lotion. :) I do live in a very very hot climate that has high humidity much of the year, and this is a wonderful scent for hot days (which for us is April through September). I can't ever imagine wearing some of the heavy perfumes I read about that seem to be popular. You would choke on them in this climate. But something like this, is very easy to wear when the sun and hot air feels like stepping in a sauna every time you go out the door.

Un Jardin a Cythere is the adult version of Twilly d'Hermès Eau Ginger. Where Eau Ginger is an immature and linear soapy, musky, clean laundry scent through and through, Jardin a Cythere possesses a hint of that same base, with a prismatic complexity and a unique identity built atop. The pistachio and olive accords are literal and well balanced with the citrus. Some have compared Cythere to a salad dressing, and that's an appropriate acknowledgement of the authenticity of the plants attributed in the notes, but Cythere is not a culinary gourmand by any stretch of the imagination. There's something strangely reminiscent of Guerlain's Samsara, which is high praise from me even if the comparison might be a challenge for some to accept. My attempts at describing Cythere all fall short, and that's because it is unique and impressive. I'm not alone in this struggle for adjectives and analogues, as evidenced by the many seemingly contradictory but glowing descriptions below. I hope Christine Nagel, the perfumer, reads all of these mystified reviews here and finds herself delighted for inventing something so perplexing and warmly embraced. Leans feminine but can absolutely be worn by a man if allowed to dwell for a good amount of time to take full advantage of the considerable longevity. Cythere works with the body's natural aroma rather than fighting or masking it. Pretty sexy stuff.

What a pleasant surprise has Un Jardin a Cythrere proved to be!! It’s a rather fresh, green, woody and unique pistachio dominated perfume that smells unlike anything I’ve smelled that contains pistachios in it! It has a grounding or calming effect on me personally! I don’t know how to describe this perfume exactly to make it justice for how beautiful it smells, but it’s a special blend of rather unusual notes that smells very beautiful without feeling perfumy. Without too much blabbing, Un Jardin a Chythere goes straight to my to buy list. It’s fairly priced and I love that sleek, semi transparent, sunny, yellow tinted statuesque bottle. If you like pistachio and you want something else than the sweet and gourmand take on pistachio, go and test this! You might be positively surprised by how well this scent is! Edit 10.10.25 After a couple more day wear/test during a recent trip to Sardinia, I decided to finally purchase a full size bottle of Un Jardin a Cythere! It’s something else that most perfumes nowadays are and it’s putting me in a calm mood when I wear it. It’s not exactly an autumnal scent, but during the more warm, sunny days of fall, I can wear it. And for next year’s spring and summer months, it’s perfectly suited. I might even take it with me to my next Greek holiday...

I’ve gone back and forth on this one quite a bit. I first tried it in-store and thought it was really lovely, so I ended up purchasing a bottle a couple of weeks later. But the first few wears after receiving it were honestly disappointing. The scent felt overbearing—just too much for my taste. I ended up setting the bottle aside for a while. About a month later, I revisited Un Jardin à Cythère, and to my surprise, I fell in love with it all over again. It’s now one of my favorite perfumes to wear in the evening before bed. I find it subtle, elegant, and, simply put, intriguing. That said, it doesn’t remind me of a garden in Greece—or of any olfactory memory from the Mediterranean, for that matter. I grew up on the French Riviera and have traveled many times to Greece and Turkey, yet Un Jardin à Cythère doesn’t evoke any of those familiar scents. Geographic accuracy aside, I would recommend trying it a couple of times before deciding to buy. This is definitely not a safe blind purchase. Some people mention the pistachio note—honestly, I’m not sure if that’s what I’m picking up—but the olive tree accord is stunning: warm, soothing, and beautifully done. The longevity is impressive, and the dry-down is gorgeous. I really love this perfume.

I liked this a lot! I'm under the assumption that a perfume note/chemical won't always be one-to-one with the actual thing, so I can't say this is a photorealistic pistachio nut scent but I don't think that was the intent. Then again it's likely that the fresh-from-the-tree pistachio is leagues different from roasted pre-cracked pistachios we know and love, like how the cashew fruit smells and tastes very soapy and astringent. The scent is fascinatingly starchy and lemony. It's not a cake or dessert exactly but there's a feeling it gives of that's very carbohydrate-coded if that makes sense! There's a woody pencily finish for me but minus the dark grit of the graphite. This Cythere is a Ground/Grass type. Definitely in the DNA of Hermes and all their brisk transparent crystalline glory but this one really dips its toes in more novel directions for me, like literally just little very poised dips. It feels dusty and earthen but not entirely. There's a sweet semblance to lemons but not all the way. Not in a derogatory half-assed way though I think this full-assing lol is a great study in balance and restraint while nailing the concept they were going for.

I am not able to decipher single notes (except for the lemon zest in the opening, which is sweet, not sour at all), which is something I associate to really good fragrances. IMO, a fragrance isn't something that your are supposed to divide in separate blocks, but it should convey an organic "impression", a sort of landscape which is much more than the sum of the single parts. In this case, the image it conveys is of a mediterranean rural landscape in a sunny, hot summer day (and coming from a mediterranean country I know what I say). However, is that sort of "idealized" landscape, as there is undercurrent of powdery sweetness latent beyond the surface. Don't be fooled by the word "sweetness" or by the pistachio in pyramid, this is not a gourmand fragrance. It is also quite different from the other perfumes of the Jardin series. It is less ethereal and has more body, reflecting the fact that Nagel uses a heavier hand than Ellena. I'm not a big fan of Nagel's work for this reason, but this is a big exception as I really enjoy un Jardin a Chytere!

I straight love this. Impressed and caught by opening, blown tf away by the 2 hour dry down! To my nose a decidedly masculine smell. A hazy summery dream, unique and mysterious, strong yet fresh. Dry, woody, not sweet. Green undertone. 5/5. I don’t think this smells like ”nuts” or even too much olive. This is not edible or fruity at all, it is ”planty”. What vegetation releases in the summer air is what this captures. Woody drydown. A Guerlain level of perfumery but more naturalistic approach by Nagel as always. Very Dune in style but Dune is deserty, asexual, nostalgic, depressive, much fruitier and wetter, delicate heart. This is more punchy, drier and I’d say bolder smelling. Leading me to a Acqua di Gio (only 1996 version of course) reference; both these fragrances aimfully evokes that enticing hot mediterranean midsummer afternoon feeling. Dry, green and herby.

I don't get the hate for this one. Sure, Nagel isn't Ellena, and her creations go in a very different direction to his, and I struggle with many of her perfumes elsewhere, but this is a lovely perfume. It opens like eating a crumbly lemon shortbread on a sunny day by an olive grove. It really is evocative of the island it's named after. As it dries down, a sunny vetiver comes through and remains, but unlike, say, the vetiver of the best-forgotten Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée, this never becomes pickley. It's a truly joyous summertime gem, it's completely unique, and it doesn't amp up the pistachio and become a gourmand snooze fest to join the current proliferation of sweet pistachio dreck. It's a love for me, especially on a day like today when the sun is fully out in early May heralding better weather (finally!).

Unique, sophisticated, naturalistic, solar, soothing, and altogether beautiful fragrance. Inspired by the Greek island of Kythira, the mythological birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite, it successfully and faithfully evokes the image of a rural Mediterranean landscape. The opening is fresh and citrusy—both natural and gourmand—reminiscent of moist lemon sponge cake with olive oil and pistachio in the background. Over time, the olive note takes center stage, and the gourmand nuances transition into green and golden herbal tones. This creates the imagery of relaxing in the shade of an old olive tree in a sun-drenched wheat field. The drydown reminds me of polished olive wood. An intimate summer fragrance, perfect for dining out with family or close friends during a holiday in the Mediterranean countryside. 8.5/10

Another more unusual addition to the ‘Jardin’ collection from Christine Nagel. I enjoy that she’s shaken things up a bit since (the wonderful) Jean-Claude Ellena left Hermes. His shimmering, translucent style remains beautiful but in CN’s hands there have been a few nice surprises from a different direction. It is true, as others have noted, that this creation from 2023 does not linger for long on skin but while it’s fully alive and breathing it casts a gentle magical spell. The smooth but distinctive pistachio note sits at the heart of the formula with olive at it side sustaining a vivid Greek island illusion. There is a light citrus presence early on but it dissipates quickly leaving the two main elements strolling hand in hand into a soft green-toned dry down. For as long as it lasts it’s a lovely idea.

Gorgeous packaging, gorgeous bottle, and honestly, one of the most delightful and exquisite scents I’ve ever come across. Ever since I discovered Un Jardin à Cythère by Hermès, I can’t imagine my collection without it. It opens with a vibrant burst of citrus, super fresh and energising, then quickly softens into this lovely, sweet and creamy pistachio note that’s just chef’s kiss. In the background, there’s this beautiful touch of olive wood that grounds the whole thing in the nicest way. Totally gender neutral, by the way. The price isn’t outrageous, and both the longevity and sillage are pretty solid on my skin, even with the hot and humid tropical weather I live in. It was love at first sniff, and honestly? I think this might be a lifelong crush.

This is one of the most unique fragrances I've ever smelled. It did not hit me at first, but the development on my skin thrilled me. At first I got a blast of the pistachio, which although I love as a flavor, it doesn't convince me as a scent note. Mind you this isn't sweet or gourmand pistachio, it's more nutty and aromatic. As the scent developed, it turned into something familiar and nostalgic that I cannot pinpoint exactly, something like a dry hay field on a hot summer day, definitely something reminiscent of my childhood summers in Greece. It is such a complex scent, even if it takes you aback at first, you keep smelling yourself trying to figure it out as it turns into something beautiful, classy and so so unique.

This was a love at first sniff with the Citrus and Pistachio in here making it a little bit solar, but tempered by dry woods. It's an extremely nostalgic smell that immediately transports me to a hot, dry day walking on a dusty path that's lined with dry bushes, lemon and pistachio trees with dry branches around you. It's delicious and I plan to get the body wash, lotion and a full bottle for this Summer. I can also see this as a great scent to wear after you've had a swim at the beach, and want to go for a meal after. Just long-lasting enough to make an impression and make you feel put together when you go to a second location, but not so much that people will have to smell you fragrance through their dinner.

Standing barefoot on the kitchen's earthen tiles, you uncork a bottle of dessert wine from the little family-run vineyard just across the valley. You pour yourself a glass and take it outside, where the afternoon sun is casting orange shadows on the flagstone terrace. You sit on the stone steps, next to your parents and sister. They make fun of you for day drinking, and you agree with them that it's a bit early. Your dad remarks happily at the bees buzzing around the tarragon, and then the conversation veers into jokes about annoying co-workers and plans for dessert. You feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the beauty around you -- and for your own beauty, reflected in the loving eyes of your family.

This fragrance is beautiful and this is from someone who dislikes both green notes and pistachio notes. It’s a light, soft scent that starts out with a burst of bright citrus and then dries down to a creamy pistachio that is not gourmand or sweet, but creamy and comforting. The olive tree note is present the entire time. I have a very large collection of 600 plus fragrances, and this is probably the most unique out of all of them. It’s perfect for hot summer days or a summer evening at home scent. The vibe it gives is walking on a Mediterranean island with a soft breeze carrying the scent of citrus and olive trees. It’s simple, yet refined, and could easily be a summer time signature scent. Love it!

This is unlike anything else in my collection. I bought the full bottle after receiving a Hermes sample set for my birthday. Every time I wear this I wonder why I don’t wear it every day. The citrus top notes settle out into the most delicious sweet/toasted nutty olive smell, nothing at all balsamic. I imagine myself in a Mediterranean orchard close to the sea on a warm summer day with olive trees on one side of me and pistachio trees on the other. This sits close to the skin and gives a 2-3 hour experience before it becomes hard to detect on my dry skin. Good news is it’s affordable (hits way above its weight in terms of cost), so I can spray with abandon.

I absolutely love this as my heat-wave/holiday perfume! I'm almost exclusively a white floral kinda gal, but when it's very sunny and very hot sometimes white florals are just too much, so I turn to this super-refreshing, very Mediterranean perfume. The only mild quibble I have is that I feel it lacks a touch of fig in its notes, so I usually add some Saltworks Figaro to it. This Hermes perfume is most definitely the dominant perfume at first (which I'm glad of), the lemon is a top note, but the wee bit of fig just makes it *chef's kiss* 🤌🏻 and then fig and bergamot become the new base notes because the Saltworks lasts a bit longer.

This is a beautiful unisex fragrance; it’s a freshie, but with some unexpected twists. It smells like a mixture of standard citric and woody notes with olive oil soap. If you have ever travelled to Mediterranean countries, you will be familiar with the scent of green olive oil soap; the soap itself gets quite slimy if not dried properly, but it leaves your hands clean and nourished. That scent is faithfully reproduced here. I do not detect the pistachio note, but rather something sweetish/vanillic in the base. As this is an EDT, it doesn’t last more than four hours, but you can extend its duration by spraying a bit on your clothes.

I absolutely love this perfume, it is one of my favorites! The opening is sweet, reminding me of limoncello. But after a few minutes, it becomes more nutty, sensual, not sweet, but not green, full of personality, and totally unique. I've never smelt anything like this. I think it leans feminine, but maybe just because I really enjoy it on myself. It gives me the feeling of sexy, yet strong, free-spirited, yet ambitious. It makes me want to wear y2k handbags and tiny heeled mullets. It teleports me on a terrace on the Mediterranean coast, sipping a coffee, or maybe a sangria, chit-chatting with locals I've just met.

Citrus at the opening is so powerful that not only I smell like freshly squeezed lemon and lime, but I feel like I turned into lemon myself. After some time olive tree with pistachio appears with some freshly cut grass undertone. Very energizing fragrance due to its bright, crisp opening. Good for mornings after shower. By afternoon it is nice green, warm smelling scent on me with a hint of lime. I have 6 out of 7 Jardin perfumes and I like them all. Although Jardin di Monseur Li and Jardin sur Nil are my absolute favorites, this one is very good too. I enjoy how it changes during the wear. Solid summer fragrance.

I leave in Greece outside my home i have olive and pistachio trees a lot of them and i know the real smell very good. This perfume smells exactly like the outer shell of the pistachio , olive note its not so perfect but i get it So all in all this is what a Perfect Perfume must do, smell like the real life ingredients. Everything else is about taste ...I dont like Coconut smell but when i smell it on a perfume and its realistic i would say yeah this is an amazing perfum for people that like coconut. So buying a pistachio olive perfume and saying i dont like it because it smells like that... Sory but its stupid.

This lovely fragrance is so unusual with the slight peppery greenness from the olive leaf and warm nuttiness from the pistachio. There’s a very bright, sharp lemony opening which settles in the long dry down to a beautiful warm, woody, creamy Mediterranean vibe with just a hint of lemon. Longevity is good on me at around 6 hours. When I wear this I really want to be in an old olive orchard on a Greek island on a hot summer’s day with views out over the azure Mediterranean Sea, lazily sketching the beautiful old trees, sipping a glass of ouzo, and eating olives with preserved lemons and some salty pistachios.

I love this, and unlike my interaction with Lowe Earth Elixir today ( it's brilliant, but smells 99% like Eau de Merveilles) the minute difference between my beloved Mélilot. Mélilot takes this scent into a baked booked/pastry direction and Cythere is deeply Mediterranean and outdoorsy. I'm a fan of Korres olive body products, and they have the same style of olive oil base with a extra sprinkle of something on top. It's smooth, creamy and nutty. like pistachio cream spread. I combined both today and it was genuinely the most delicious gourmet scent I was complimented on.

A heavenly summer scent! When I tried this for the first time, I immediately fell head over heels in love. This is a natural and rich citrus scent with a lot of warmth, a hint of nuttiness, and some dry "sandiness." This perfume reminds me of sun-warmed, sandy skin at the end of a long and relaxing beach day somewhere in the Mediterranean, next to citrus and olive groves. A carefree, happy scent for endless summer days. My only complaint is its short duration: it needs to be reapplied every third hour or so if you want to enjoy the scent for more than a brief moment.

I've got a real soft spot for the Jardin series, so was really happy this arrived in my perfume subscription this month. I have tried many Jardins, but this is my fave. I just wish the longevity wasn't so p*ss poor!! If I had a Hermes-worthy bank balance I'd buy lashings of this for summer wear. It smells like lemon polenta cake with crushed, sweet pistachios on top. It has some of the dry, gin-like citrus of de Nil, but isn't so astringent and cold. It is warm, amalfi-ish sunshine. But lasts approximately 23 seconds. Such a shame when it costs so damn much.

A pretty heartwarming perfume for me, it is fresh without having to resort to an overdose of citrus or clean notes which I'm not fond of. Instead, it relies on this summery dry grass accord and pistachio not to evoke a feeling of lightness. I get a youthful vibe from it, something that doesn't take itself too seriously but really stand its ground. It is pretty long lasting, especially for a Hermès fragrance as they usually lean quite transparent. This one really blooms on skin and I can still smell it after 8 hours. It works very well in the heat.

my absolute favourite scent - it was love at first sniff and that never went away. i absolutely hate that it’s just an eau de toilette, so only has moderate longevity and sillage. citruses and pistachio (but not a sweet or gourmand pistachio, more nutty and aromatic) that dry down to an olive accord. definitely reminds me of dry greek islands in the summer. not overly sweet. unisex, fresh while earthy and warm. quite a unique scent i‘ve been told, but pleasing and comforting nevertheless. fits best in summer, i like to wear it whenever

Instant crush for this one! It opens with a warm, nutty scent of hazelnuts and cereals layered with a fresh, green burst that immediately awakens the senses; it’s pistachio, unmistakably so. The pistachio feels alive, still on its tree, with a subtle woody undertone that adds depth and elegance. We are truly in a Garden in Cythera. Every element is perfectly balanced, delicate, surprising, and utterly refined. Simply beautiful. It has quickly become my favorite in the line, alongside the equally sublime Jardin sur la Lagune.

This is unlike anything i’ve ever smelled before, and because of that I love it. It’s so different, unique and beautifully striking. Immediately opens up with a lemon and pistachio (not gourmand at all), but that olive wood keeps it all together, almost like dry hay or grass in the dry down. The pistachio isn’t nutty, it’s like a soft fresh pistachio when it’s still on the tree and red. it’s addicting and full bottle worth. For someone who isn’t a fan of Hermes fragrances, this is a winner.

This is one of the most beautiful fragrances I've ever tried. A woody scent for people who find woody scents a bit heavy. It opens with a refreshing, slightly minty citrus, and then dries down into a green-woody olive. I don't get the pistachio, but I still love it. Unfortunately it doesn't last at all. The intensity is gone in 30 minutes, less if you go outside, and by hour two you can only get fleeting moments here and there. Not a fragrance that will catch people's attention.

This is bright, fresh, and restrained...The pistachio is front and center and they allow it to be gorgeous all on its own. No sugar, no vanilla, no marshmallow creme - just a sunny, verdant pistachio that makes me think of nice weather. I think this is very unique in that they didn't go super-gourmand or sweet using pistachio as a main note. The fragrance feels light, but on me, it lasted all day and I picked up nice whiffs of it throughout. All in all, this is very lovely.

I only tried it because I am currently playing "l'Embarquement a Cynthère" LOL. But I am happy that I did (of course, after this delightful perfume, I sampled the whole Hermès shelf. None of them came close.) It's a superfresh botanical scent with a hint of soap and resin. Unisex in the best possible way. Would wear it on a boozy night out, wouldn't wear it to be seductive in any way - unless I wanted to seduce either a herbalist or a seafood cook.

😳 Oh my freakin' heck balls this is effing good stuff! 🌱🌿🌼👊😇❤️🔥 Absolutely safe blind buy if you like crisp green + hint-of-sweet + your-skin-but-better. It's wonderfully green without the sharpness or metallic dry down a lot of green scents have. Just sweet enough to take the edge off and all resting on a blanket of musky skin-scented goodness. OMG it was instant love for me. ♥️ Wow, just wow.💕 9.5/10 Even fresh out of the box, heavenly.

Fell in love last year in the airport duty free store. You won't find anything with a better pistachio note, it's raw, even more salty than sweet. Perhaps the salt is carried with the sea wind cause it literally teleports you to the south of europe. Smells like a sunny morning/day by the sea, but not by the regular sandy beach. It is rocky and full of wild bushes, mixed with pistachio+lemon. It cant get more Napoli/Positano than that.

I love this so much... I can't comprehend anyone not loving it. It's creamy in a nutty way outdoorsy, lively, comforting, soft, strong. It's a perfect perfume, and thank goodness not like all other boring, generic floral perfumes out there. Hermes is always a class above to me. I haven't been to Greece, but this transports me somewhere... This is one of my absolute favourites. It's a cosy, comforting alternative to Sur Le Nil

Still a staple in my collection for summer. Absolutely addictive, unique and a joy to wear. I do love olives and I would like to find a pure olive blossom perfume, but I have not, so this is as close at it gets. For me, it surpassed Un jardin en mediterranee, although that one is gorgeous as well. So happy that Hermes is still releasing original fragrances even for the mainstream market. Other designers should follow.

Smells like a Greek island's traditional market with handmade olive soap bars and Greek desserts. Being Greek I can't find any occasions i could wear it, but I appreciate the formulation as a reference to the Greek island Kythera. Great fragrance overall and very unique. I really like Christine Nagel's approach to a modern fragrance lately, she is an interesting nose. 8/10

The strong citrus blast at the opening bothers me a little, but it develops beautifully. The pistachio note is divine, adding just enough sweetness to soften the citruses. It makes me feel as if I’m surrounded by olive trees, with a warm breeze passing through, and for a moment, everything feels perfectly at peace. To me, this is an impressive fragrance.

A Mediterranean, fresh, and pleasantly warm morning in an olive orchard. Sun-kissed grasses are wrapped in the fleeting aroma of ripe citrus, grounded by the dry, woody note of pistachio. The composition evokes images of olive trees and freshly pressed olive oil. Dolce far niente. Longevity and projection mirror this morning—drifting away with it.

I don't usually like floral or overly fruity notes in summer fragrances, I much prefer fresh, dry scents in the summer heat. It's hard for me to find a summer scent that I can wear with confidence, but I can say that I have finally found a signature scent for the warmer seasons, as this one smells like dried grass and very expensive olive oil.

Morning in Shanghai. Cereals, steamed rice, baos, and lemon cakes. A stroll by the Huangpu, lindens and orange blossom; the smell of home. Coffee shops and influencers, inconceivable wealth. Home is with him and I am his home, we bring the air and spirit of the Mediterranean with us, taking back only our sun-kissed skin to the frigid north.

Cythere, hot, southern Croatia, small olive fields, dry, surrounded by stones, salty sea, still green orange in the corner of the garden, which is only slowly ripening and a handful of pistachios in the palm of my hand. Vacation, I have to buy it and remind myself of those beautiful, relaxing days over the winter.

One of the best releases in the designer sector in years. It is a little understated because it is a savoury freshie suited best for warm weather, but it is a perfect vacation experience, interesting, evocative, executed perfectly, in my opinion. Like a painting in a bottle and one of my absolute favourites ever.

What an incredible fragrance, gourmand in the opening, smells incredibly edible; lemon tart and pistachio on the background. After 20-30 minutes the scent changes to fresh, I get lemon tea and woody accords. Easily the best out of Jardin line and completely unisex, would smell gorgeous on anyone.

Hermes Cythere is a gorgeous olive forward fragrance which is great in any season. Good transparency with a bit of imaginary oil/wax - like texture to increase longevity. Good signature scent and unisex. Very similar to Bottega Veneta Illusione but has a slightly richer, woodier base. Beautiful.

I love the initial dry down where it’s a savory fatty full-bodied but at same time sweet airy citrusy pistachio. In order to enhance and extend this delightful phase I tried layering it with one spritz of Khair today. It worked! I see myself doing this quite often especially in summer. 💃

If you want to get the most compliments!!!! This is such a beautiful fragrance such a lovely find. I got this on sale the first time and I've gotten it 3 more times, it is that good. You will smell like citrus pistachios and olives. it reminds me so much of Greece and Italy 11/10

Ultimate Balkans feeling. Sun, olive trees, very subtle hint of tobacco and oriental spicy notes. Very complex, balanced scent. More of a conformist, classic ones. Can imagine wearing it in winter also, because there’s no overwhelming freshness. True unisex fragrance.
