Appear

This must vibe really well with my skin chemistry, but this is one of my most complemented fragrances! For reference, I have a large collection of both niche and designer perfumes and typically gravitate towards gourmands and molecular fragrances. I do layer this though, so maybe the combo is the key? I start with 11 11 perfume oil over moisturized skin (Josie maran body butter), then I liberally spray Appear on my arms, chest and neck, then spray Clean apple blossom on my legs and hair. This is also one of my favorite combos to wear in the spring/summer. I will always have a back up of this fragrance.

Do NOT pay attention to the hate comments, this shit is fantastic oml it’s definitely fruity floral, not gourmound enough in a way where I could smell the caramel notes but it’s still sweet like candy but initially the first immediate sprays then walk around the room ofc to prepare your nose, is very elegant white florals aroma with green apples and pear notes. The dry down is still green apples but heliotrope, raspberry, and musk added. It’s a mature fruity floral, smells juicy and like the feminine version of Amur Leopards by Sanctuary. A new favorite of mine definitely!!

sweet caramelized pear melting into powdery buttery florals with vanilla and caramel... it's a lovely gourmand for those who are into gourmands - extremely good quality, with depth added by buttery orris root and powdery heliotrope. I do not perceive anything cheap or over the top or plasticky I am really surprised I have not heard much about this house and at the low rankings of its perfumes which are all impressive - is it because no influencers are advertising this house?

I don’t get the bad reviews... I LOVE this fragrance. It reminds me of using a fancy pear/apple shampoo, then using just a spritz of Lush Super Milk to detangle. It’s fresh and fruity but also has a hint of caramel apple, then a musky, sparkly dry down. I own over 200 niche, indie, and designer fragrances, and this is one of the very few I own a backup bottle of. I always get compliments when I wear this too. Its fantastic 💕

I really liked this perfume for the first few months I had it. I would describe this one as not quite a gourmand, but close, and definitely not shampoo, but still clean and soft. Really nice for a day of errands in the spring. Sweet, juicy pear with an amber-musk drydown-- so well rounded, what's not to love? I found the answer to that question. A few months in, I have encountered a plastic-y note on my skin that takes around half an hour to fade. The drydown is still marvelous and is the reason why I'm a fan, but I had a similar experience to some other commenter where the plastic note makes it unbearable. Otherwise, the sillage is just okay, and it is definitely not a fragrance that will last you the whole day. Overall, a really nice scent, but some major performance issue. Not blind buy safe!

This somehow smells like everything and nothing at the same time. If I focus, I can get the apple, caramel, pear, peach, etc, but if I'm not focusing then it just smells like a particularly nice sephora. Which, hey, not a bad thing! It just has that... vague perfume smell unless you're really trying to get the individual notes. It smells like the fragrance samples on the sheets of paper that I'd take out of my mom's old magazines as a kid. I'd put them all in a drawer, and when I opened the drawer, it smelled like this perfume. But somehow, it's still rather sophisticated? This is a weird one, but I really, really enjoy it. I'd say it's a safe blind buy if you like sweet scents/that 'mall perfume' smell.

You can smell caramel mixed with fruit right from the very beginning, even though caramel is mentioned only among the base notes. It's sweet without being heavy with something fresh coming through a bit which I cannot put my finger on (mandarin, jasmin, lily of the valley?). Take your time to try it a few times on different days. With Hermetica fragrances it's never clear from the first time what to expect from them, you swing from "I hate it" to "I love it" a few times before you decide. That's the beauty of this brand.

Appear by Hermetica surprised me in the best way. It’s fruity and sweet but perfectly balanced — not too sugary, not too sharp. There’s a clean, fresh undertone that makes it feel effortless and elegant. Great for daytime or travel, it smells like a soft, modern glow. Really easy to love.

It has that sweet, soapy, light gourmandish jasmine sambac of Good Girl and other fragrances. This is not the kind of scent I personally like, but I think it is a popular accord for the current times. It will be a good gift for someone else.

Call me crazy, but this smells exactly like Fruit by the Foot or Fruit Roll Ups at first! Whether you like that vibe or not will determine whether or not you like (or even love) this fragrance.

very sweet, at first I didn't like it but the caramel/tonka comes out as you wear and it's growing on me. definitely sugary and feminine

This opens on my skin with tart green apple, caramel and... plastic? I don’t know what note(s) could be responsible for that, but, WHOO BOY, is it strong for the first 15-20 minutes! Once it dries down, it’s a pretty generic fruity sweet scent, not unlike any run-of-the-mill celebrity fragrance that high school “me” would have LOVED, but nowadays it’s just not my taste. That’s not to say that it’s bad, per se, just nothing special or unique. Which is odd, because I’ve found there other scents to be quite unique and beautiful (Rosefire - what a stunner!!!). Lasting power and projection are quite average. Lasts maybe 4ish hours before it needs a reapplication. Overall, it’s a MEH for me!

What could have been a really stellar pear scent is interrupted by an invasive plasticky note. A plastic pear in a bed of plastic flowers. 😔

For the sweet lovers - This is not a gourmand pear. This pear is floral and musky, fresh and quite synthetic. There is nothing realistic here, it is rather perfumy. Huge disappointment as I wanted caramelised pear 🍐

Watery pear and green apple that isn’t so sour, more like the smell of green apple hard candy. Hermetica Appear is bright, fruity, fresh, musky and clean but doesn’t last long on my skin, maybe 4 hours. It does have that Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline kind of clean musk, but with pear and green apple candy added. Appear is also like the warm weather, fresher, brighter version of Byron Parfums Mula Mula but with an aquatic, watery texture instead of the leathery, woodier texture in MM. Call me crazy, but the fruity caramel profile is so similar and I’ve also said MM smells like strawberry hard candy and caramel outside of the supporting oud and leather base, which obviously makes it deeper than the green apple in this. Appear does have a dominant fruity presence from opening to end and may be a good buy if I wanted a summer version of MM. It may be redundant, I’m not sure. Probably because I also have a travel of Cassiopeia in the same fruity profile.

This is a wonderful addition for summer. Soft fluffy pear, clean well rounded , where it is hard to identify the notes individually - it’s just clean without any hint of sharp notes (I haven’t identified caramel or lily-of-the-valley) very well blended - seamlessly . You won’t find any artificial candy or shampoo in this composition. So to all agile, hyper active sporty junkies: this is not for a gym - it is for a quiet luxury feel - I would say it gives a clean glossy magazine page vibe just out of the print. “Intelligent” nonobliging scent. If there is anything more suitable to wear in the office in summer - please contest this one.

This perfume is good! Its the type of perfume that makes you take those deep breathes and think, this is really good. Its not super unique but its a banger! Scent wise I get fruity, sweet, little woody. My mind thinks, upscale, money, pretty but very easy going. This perfume blooms on my skin and could be smelled for over 8 hours. For me this is one of those scents that perk you up, you will be telling yourself, man I smell good. And folks around you will be drawn in and want to linger around you to keep getting those wonderful whiffs of Appear!

Starts off with shampoo like fruitiness from the pear and apple. As it dries down it becomes warmer and slightly more tart. Give it 30 minutes and you’re left with a caramel that’s not sticky and woods that warm up the fragrance with the apple and pear still shining through but more realistic than the opening. Don’t expect this to be juvenile or very sweet because it’s not. It’s well balanced. I would describe this fragrance as ‘cozy’

Appear is an effervescent vanilla pear & green apple. Very light, almost skin like scent. Beautiful as far as notes go but lacking in sillage and longevity. I got this on sale for under $50 but I probably would've been dissatisfied had I paid full price. 6.5/10
