Greenlion

Oh, I love this. It's sensual, seductive and animalistic. On me, it doesn't develop over time, it's straight-up, deep seduction... You would notice the strength of cardamom and vanilla, casually flirting with a rosy undertone. This smells more oriental spicy than 'aromatic green' in the description. The full list of notes are: juniper berry, Guatemalan cardamom, pink pepper, bergamot, rose, patchouli, cedarwood, amber, sandalwood, vanilla, leather.

this one is great! it's lemon-lime, juniper, and a hint of coconut and minty- sweet and green, like spearmint gum, a little masculine, but doable. I definitely get a cleanser-note here, like pine-sol, but it's not overly loud, just a little nostalgic. I find greenlion to be pretty unique, definitely worth another wear

Greenlion was a blind buy wrapped by HERMETICA as a gift from the heart. I don’t find it particularly ‘green;’ I associate the scent more with high end skin care and the soft, powdery smell of face masks. It has this powerful 'cosmetic' delicacy to it that radiates calmness. Very nice, I will wear this a lot.

The opening of this reminds me so much of Thameen's Diadem. It's nowhere near as green as I was expecting, but it's quite lovely nonetheless. Deep, aromatic and oh so comforting.

Wore it today, it's so fresh and green I really enjoy this fragrance very unique a bit linear but still good. 7.5/10

Surprisingly impressive. Amid Hermetica's range of slightly intimidatingly modern, polished, minimal scents this one's hit the spot hardest for me so far as I work my way through a sampler set. Synthetic amber wood sounded like it might get overly sweet or generic but it does give just enough warmth and roundness for the whole composition to blur together and sing a little. Very nice meld of green herbal notes and that mid-tan-light-wood ambiance, with aromatic prickles of interest that don't get too bitter or green-grassy. Its balance of botanical fresh and warmer, sweeter wood reminded me oddly of Zoologist Elephant, though without the wonderful coconut and dark cocoa notes of that one. Green lion is still almost clinically clean, but somehow welcoming and friendly to my nose. Like others from the line, absolutely ultra-linear straight-line stuff, so geometric that it never really evolves or goes through phases - it's a metallic-wire abstract pendant of a lion, not a real living beast - but is really truly pleasant throughout. Doesn't project miles, but lasts well (up to 6h on skin, 4h+ further on fabric).

This is quite wonderful: elegant, contained, serene, green-woody-aromatic scent. Really well blended. It is giving me sauna vibes- those aromatics that are sometimes evaporated on the heater in a sauna. A very Scandinavian type of scent, if that makes sense. Herbaceous without going Oriental or heavy. Notes are blended really nice, nothing is too sharp or overpowering, yet you get the basil, the rosemary, the cardamon, juniper... I don't get any lily of the valley honestly. Leans masculine but really can be pulled off by a woman too. Edited to add: The more I wear it, the more I find a strange resemblance with Thé Rouge Bvlgari, which I really, really love. Greelion, however is like a bit of a more masculine Thé Rouge, where fruits and sweetness is toned down and the woody "sauna" notes are more pronounced.

One of the more successful compositions from a line of fragrances that are somewhat incomplete. This opens with the fresh anise aspect of basil and a sharp, astringent juniper. I smell other culinary herbs too. The celery-like bitterness of coriander and some mint. The aniseed sweetens up slightly through the middle and cardamom comes into play but the oil base makes these fragrances pretty linear. What you smell after ten minutes is what you get for the next few hours. It's an interesting, naturalistic green with better projection than some of the other Hermetica frags (I'm looking at you Jade888) Not good value though.

Not as green as I was expecting due to the name and I love a good rich greenie. Much more aromatic with beautiful herbaceous top notes. Although the aromatics don’t last long enough, it settles to the warm woody ambery base with slightly oriental vibes. This is more of a warmer green - like a nature walk in a humid rainforest in the spring time. Perfectly unisex, unique and very easy to wear. Loses points on longevity.

Greenlion is another try from Hermetica (via a sample package from Perfumology) that falls into a category of woody/green/slightly spicy fragrances that lean slightly masculine like Spiceair and Cedarise. It is a relatively safe mix, with notes of amberwood, juniper, basil, cardamom, lily of the valley, rosemary, patchouli, and musk that stand out. The juniper and basil in particular come off pretty strong and account for a bit of spiciness. It’s somewhat bright, even a touch fruity with the note of blackcurrant, but it’s mainly a spicy, ever-so-slightly minty blend with woody undertones and a bit of that musk to smooth things over. It’s year-round wearable and not too heavy or overwhelming, yet not too transparent to not hold its own in cool or cold weather. At the brand’s standard pricing of $159 for 100ml / $135 for 50ml, while reasonable, I’d say that this probably needs to be a “love” to be worth buying since there are not only other comparable fragrances within the line itself, but other agreeable cheaper varieties in the same genre as far as a designer and grey market items. 6 out of 10

Average herbal designer fragrance on my skin. I'm talking about originality, not quality. I can't remember the name of the designer fragrance this reminds me of, I will post it later. There's no coumarin or tonka bean listed, but I am pretty sure it's been used. And not in small quantities. To my nose there's too much of it. Don't know what else it may be, but it makes me want to gag if I smell it for too long. It's like overly sweeted almond milk with soaked with herbals. Otherwise it has to be the amberwood combined with the herbals. However, this is not for me.

sweet spearmint gum freshness and the body reminiscent of Naxos' honeyed base but without the lavender. rosemary accord is absolutely gorgeous. not itchy, not sharp, not too green...just perfect emerald is a good color to describe this fragrance. i wouldn't call Greenlion short-lived, although it does fall down to a skin scent very quickly, it stays there for another solid 5-6 hours

I adore this one. I definitely get basil, rosemary, and amber on my skin. Green and herbaceous rounded out with a good deal of comforting golden warmth. Reminds me of an intimate dinner party with candles and place settings, lively conversation and a glowing ambience. Definitely more for cooler weather, fall and winter, and truly unisex.

quite a pleasant woody scent, reminds me of aftershave my dad may or may not have worn in my childhood. not a dry, bleached-wood kinda woods, it's much more full bodied with mid and base notes to it. not really feeling it, though, truth be told. it's not 100% the kinda scent I usually go for...

Greenish basil Slightly green spicy blend with a conquering basil, rosemary, and amber. It has cardamom as well. It's herbal spicy green. Cute.

very aromatic, but too masculine for me. might like it on my husband
