At one point I thought that I hated lily of the valley. Fragrances like Penhaligon Lily of the Valley (I thought it was meant to be a soliflore) smells just like sea island cotton which is a scent I loath. It smelled like it belonged in the genre of Elizabeth Arden White Tea. But I love Fior Fiore by Eau D'Italie which has a dominant lily of the valley note, so hating lily of the valley is a lie. Jade888 helped reaffirm that thought was just a lie. Jade888 is so smooth and was an instant love at first sniff. This to me is a spa fragrance. It just smells soothing and clean without the extra fuss. Its green with a soft spice. The ginger gives it a slight earthy vibe instead of any warmth. Im not going to lie this could easily be some type of dove deodorant like their go fresh cool essentials or fresh rejuvenate but softer. I almost want to layer it with something more earthy or vegetal to elevate it above grooming product while still maintaining the shower fresh vibe. I still love it as is as a casual clean smell. So if you like fragrances like Tommy Girl then you might like this. @alit was spot on with her description of this fragrance especially saying that it came across effortless. The only thing I disagree with her saying is that this is not FBW. It's full bottle worthy because I would wind up using the whole bottle. This is the type of fragrance that will easily get everyday wear from me. I don't have to be in a particular mood to put it on. It has easily become one of my favorites. I don't find this scent particularly girly. My mom thinks this smells masculine, but I don't smell that either. I'd classify this as unisex if anything, but it smells genderless to me.

This was an add-on in my Ipsy: $3 for a 5ml sample. I keep thinking I will quit Ipsy, but then something great comes along like this. I should have bought 10 of these samples! No one has mentioned that the ambroxan in this reminds one so very much of Juliette Has A Gun's White Spirit, which is ridiculously expensive. What else could it be besides ambroxan? It is White Spirit with a touch of green woods. It is just what I need in These Here Difficult Times. The white floral is a little tuberosey to me, which i guess is the lily of the valley. Full bottle worthy to me IF it lasts -- since it is much more affordable than WS. Vegan, cruelty-free, and a newbie coupon make me want to splurge since I just got the Big Stimulus. Unisex, intoxicating, must spray on spouse. I wish you could try it right now! I had never even heard of this brand, but niche fragrances are sprouting like weeds, a very cool thing in a time of very sucky things. Only thing I don't like is the garish gold cap on the modern pretty green bottle.

This is so fresh and uplifting without being overbearing. Jade 888 is not like any other perfume in that it has a moisturizing base without being oily. None of the notes are particularly distinct, but they add up to a perfectly green and sumptuous experience much like the description of the perfume. I absolutely love it! It elevates my mood as though it were an aromatherapy. . I absolutely love it! I received this as a tester in an Ipsy bag and it became my all-time favourite.

I really like the scent. I ordered a 5ml sample to test it and it's a love at first sniff. When I sprayed it, it's fresh, green and inoffensive. Lily-of-the-valley is the major player here while musk and ginger hide in the background, softening the greeness and adding a hint of spiciness to it. It is relaxing and comforting. The floral feeling became more obvious after 5-10 minutes. If I am enjoying my leisure time at home, I would definitely wear this fragrance. Besides, as the perfume is alcohol-free (not sure whether it is water-based or oil-based), it doesn't evaporate and absorb into your skin as quick as normal fragrances. Although it is a EDP, it feels like an extrait de parfum on application that it left an oil? spot on your skin.

I have never encountered Lily of the valley done in such a way. See, the danger with Lilly of the valley for me is that it often feels dated, or too sharp, or too green. Here it is very smooth and soft musky, very gentle. There is a faint spiciness from the ginger but overall a very clean, slightly milky-powdery, natural and effortless kind of scent. Almost like you slathered your scented body lotion and didn't care much else. It is not a head turner or statement kind of perfume, more like fresh out of the shower - feel good in your lounge wear at home-type of scent. Al A solid like, but not FBW for me.

This is a beautiful simple fragrance - the kind you wear when all your other scents make you weary or headachy but you still want to wear something that smells of quality and is quite unlike anything else I have at hand. Knowing how I dislike lily of the valley I suppose is cancelled out by a very soft and smooth combination of ginger and musk. The LOTV comes across as a simple "soft white floral" at drydown. I wasn't going to bother testing this, but it's was well worth a test. Lesson learned - don't judge a fragrance by it's notes. Enough to buy a full bottle? No. Not in my opinion. $$$$

I received this in an Ipsy bag and was pleasantly surprised at how different it is from normal generic floral/vanilla scents that are in sample bags. "Green" is definitely a great word to describe it. It reminds me of how things look and smell fresher and greener after a big summer storm. It is a bracing scent in a way. Longevity seems to vary; on the back of my arm when I first tested it, it lasted a few hours, but this morning around 7:30 I sprayed it on my wrists, and by 9:45 it was gone.

I wish I smelled the ginger as much as people in the other reviews, I honestly can’t say I smell it at all. I think inoffensive and pretty is the best way to describe this perfume- it reads to my nose as delicate white flowers and maybe a little cucumber. Definitely refreshing. Nothing really jumps out at me about this fragrance in a way that’s both a pro and a con- it’s a very easy wear, but that’s all that really draws me to it.

I wore this one as my go-to throughout Spring and Summer of 2022. It's vibrant, but not totally complex or well-performing for its price point. While I think the bottle and packaging is beautiful, I found the scent not lasting on me. That being said, I do like it, just would not buy again. It smells like the color green, like a fresh breeze blowing though a flowering garden of cucumber and lime. Layering it makes it more useful.

This reminds me of Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche EDT. Same vibe. Same greenness. Idk I don’t have the Chanel here rn to test side by side but my brain immediately logged there the second I smelled it. Very fresh, clean, just-out-the-shower fragrance. Very aromatic without being aldehydic. Definitely unisex, perhaps leaning slightly feminine. Very wearable. Inoffensive. Great for Spring/Summer/office/gym.

A fun but short-lived sweet apple and lily of the valley frag with fizzy ginger and a hint of dry woods. To be honest it smells like expensive shampoo. A definite shower scent. Would be good for after the gym or as a pick me up but it feels incomplete. Very inoffensive. Perfect for the office but in no way represents value for money. It does perform better when mixed with Source1. But still - meh.

green and fresh with a little touch of what, to my nose, seems like graphite and pear. Very clean smelling and almost salad-ish- kind of the intersection of those two things- as though you dressed a bowl of spring mix with shampoo and pencil shavings. I like it a lot- will wear again.

It’s simple, elegant and classy. Green! The feminine leaning individual who wears this is about quiet luxury. Wise. Entering midlife. Doesn’t need to impress. If you know, you know. The musk mellows the lily of the valley, while ginger adds a slight touch of spice. Lasts all day.

True to its name, Jade888 is /green./ Not the sharp, herby green of cardamom and patchouli, but the softer, more delicate green of dew-wet flowers. I get a bit of... cucumber, bamboo, maybe? Regardless, it's a lovely fresh floral. Definitely a springtime scent!

got it in an ipsy box, not really my style but still a really nice springy floral scent. might be good for layering with something more earthy and warm. smells very similar to acqua di gioia, maybe a tiny bit sweeter and less aquatic.

i really like this one. it starts out fairly spicy, like ginger and then it mellows out to a kind of soapy flowery smell. it smells like eating an orange while taking a bath in a jungle. very unique. very weird.

I love this. Sweet grass and lily of the valley with a touch of lime. A white bouquet in the garden. Hours later there’s a soft cotton candy left on my skin. It’s summer now and I want to wear this every day!

This fresh, clean scent reminds me a bit of drinking a cucumber drink on a hot day. Perfect summer afternoon cool-down (currently 25°C). Lasts about 4 hours.

Smells like water lilies with a sweet musk. Very feminine and pretty! Crowd pleaser, not too much going on. Perfect for spring/summer

This perfume immediately reminded me of the scent you catch in a high-end store; clean, luxurious, and very put-together. What came to mind is that moment when you're about to walk out of a boutique with shopping bags in hand, the mix of tissue paper, the crisp box, and that spritz of perfume they spray before they wrap everything up. The opening is quite floral. After a while, the muskier base starts to come through, adding some warmth and depth. That said, it does lean a bit generic to me. Elegant, yes, but not especially memorable. A people-pleaser fragrance. I also found it a bit strong, and I get the sense it could be headache-inducing. It’s not something I’d wear myself, but I don’t dislike it at all. Solid fragrance, just not for me. 7/10.

I think after testing about 5 of the Hermetica perfumes, I'm starting to understand their theory of mixing. This scent (Jade888) is too sweet and floral for me (too traditionally feminine-leaning). But Source1 was too pungent (probably too masculine and skanky-leaning). I can totally see that mixing them together on the skin would make a nice balanced combination. I'm just not sure I want to do that everyday. I am also not sure about buying 2 bottles at $200+ each in order to have a great scent! Maybe I'm lazy, I just want one perfume bottle to be awesome on its own. @alit and @danygurl06 -- I agree with your take, this is like a clean, floral spa scent. Like an expensive shampoo or hotel lotion.

I blind bought this bottle cause it was 70% off . I thought I would buy it since I’m a LOTV lover . I have the LOTV by Penhaligon and LOTV by Floris which are both classy, mild floral scents which I layer my other perfumes with , if I want them to be more white floral . I actually prefer the Composition of the LOTV in Jade888 better but it lost me with the ginger . I can’t stand spices in perfumes and this is the only note that I can attribute to the scent being spicy. It stays spicy the entire time . It’s silage and longevity is enormous , I can smell it the next morning on my wrists. I just wish I could make the ginger disappear .

Jade is a good name for this fragrance - because it definitely has a green aspect. It is not a super green fragrance tho - it is not a cut grass, or Chanel no 19 type green - Hermetica Jade is a softer green scent. This is not a lily of the valley soliflore. The lily of the valley is there but it is a bit overshadowed by the ginger. The ginger is not bright, zesty, fresh ginger juice - it is like dried ginger, a softer ginger. The combination of the ginger and lily of the valley is a bit unusual to my nose. This is a pleasant fragrance - there is nothing offensive about it, but it is just not for me.

I instantly got the Lily of the Valley and pear notes when I first sprayed this. There are only a few brief minutes before you reach the full dry down stage with Hermetica fragrances. On my skin, the floral notes quickly moved to the background and the cedarwood note took over. I am left with a fragrance that is light floral with pencil shavings. It sits very close to my skin. I found it to be rather unimpressive at this stage. I don't find this one to be full bottle worthy.

It's alright, I like the top lily of the valley note but there is something oily and off-putting in the base, and it might be the Hermetica base. I think I've smelled this sweet, musky base in their other perfumes, particularly Figfever. It's like somehow the musk and ginger in this fragrance smells the same as the woody notes in Figfever's drydown. It doesn't smell bad, I think it's just repetitive and kind of takes over the freshness of this fragrance.

The first few times wearing this, I didn't know what to make of it. The name didn't match the scent. I looked up the notes and wore it again today. Ginger! I smell so much ginger. Then soft white flowers, no indoles, then musk. It doesn't smell green to me really, but has some zing from the ginger. I like it better now that I let go of my green expectations.

This is pleasant, I get the lily of the valley and green musk but don’t get the ginger. Smells very clean and would be good for warmer weather.

Clean and airy. Very fresh and green with a soft musky base. Feels like a walk in a dewy garden. Easy to wear and uplifting.

Sweet Cucumber Spa Water Refreshing but not memorable...

I’ve done a full 180 on this one. I got a 5mL of this from a scent subscription a couple of years ago and I hated it. From the bottle, on my skin, on my clothes, all I got was a sharp astringent eye watering assault, like rubbing alcohol or ammonia. I couldn’t smell anything past it. I was convinced I got a sample that had turned. BUT THEN recently I read somewhere that it makes it great hair perfume because it doesn’t contain alcohol (which shocked me based on my initial impression). I sprayed a bit on my hairbrush and all day and the next I kept catching the scent of a clean, crisp, fresh garden full of flowers. Imagine my surprise when I realized it was me! I don’t know if my sample needed time (a lot of time) to settle or if my sense of smell was still majorly out of whack from Covid when I got the sample in 2021, but whatever the reason, I’m so glad I gave it another shot.

I got a sample of this in my Ipsy bag. It’s not the kind of thing I would have picked for myself, and for good reason. I can see why the marketing materials describe it as evoking “dense foliage and tangled vines, prolific and untamed like the undergrowth of the Amazon.” It does have kind of a garden-y smell—that pungent smell of wet dirt and how flowers can sometimes smell a little sharp. This is bold and heavy and reminds me of other perfumes I’ve disliked for being too pushy and strong. The one aspect of it I was impressed with is longevity: I sprayed one spray and still caught whiffs of it 12 hours later.

I really want to like this one, but I just can’t. A friend gave it to me because to her it smells like the basements of the homes of Minnesota where she’s from. At first sniff I got a dry, woody, lipstick cosmetic smell. Not terrible, could be interesting. I’ve worn it at home a few times to try it out and it’s become depressing and difficult to wear. It’s dry, dusty, salty, bitter. I love warm woody scents, but this is just cold and dusty and sad to me. It’s missing warmth and humanness. sad scent.

The opening smells like a lot like a shampoo I use by Joico. At first it has a clean and fresh scent, and then it gives way to FLORAL - namely, Lily of the Valley. If you love Lily of the Valley, you will love Jade888. I like this note when it's in the background but in this case it's at the forefront. I do not care for this, it's too strong with the lily.

My sample smells like a cucumber lime juice, or maybe some kind of salad? Either way there's a funky sharp scent that I can't stand. Maybe it's the ginger but it's not any type of ginger I'm used to. It just smells GREEN, like a neon green highlighter.

I was in the process of testing Verticaloud from this house when the sales representative recommended that I sample Jade888 as it is the most popular scent from this brand. I do enjoy smelling Jade888, however, I'm not attracted to this fragrance. It's a very green scent, with notes of dew-kissed lily of the valley, subtly spiced ginger and damp musk accord. This fragrance composition is uncomplicated and easy to wear, hence the reason why it is one of their best sellers. Easily worn all year round, Jade888 is versatile and inoffensive. The perfumer, Aliénor Massenet, was inspired by the Amazon rainforest when creating Jade888. The top notes do aptly convey a rainforest with a lush green accord, and the base introduces a damp musk note, similar to the scent of earth after rain. There are certain moments throughout this fragrance's development where the synthetic aspects are apparent. I do, however, think that Hermetica as a brand showcases synthetic molecules better than Escentric Molecules. Their fragrances as a whole are far more interesting and wear better on the skin. Sadly, Jade888 doesn't last as long as other fragrances in this line. I enjoyed approximately four hours of wear and found the projection to be relatively weak. I am glad that I had the opportunity to sample this fragrance, but for now, I'll stick to my favourite from this brand, Verticaloud.

Jade888 is another woody/green/floral/semi-spicy mix, though this creation leans a little more feminine than the others, in my opinion. What distinguishes it from, say, Greenlion, which I sampled yesterday, is the relative prominence in Jade888 of the floral notes—lily of the valley and violet—that feel relatively dominant. So it’s floral, but also green, with a pinch of ginger giving some freshness and a relatively common dry down of cedar and musk. I somewhat like it, but as with most of the others in the collection, it’s agreeable but not lovable, at least on my skin. Priced at $195 for 100ml / $135 for 50ml, like the rest of the collection, makes this an easy pass for me but as with many of the others in the line, I could see this working as an interesting-enough year-round fragrance that could be signature scent-worthy on men and women alike, though its floral center does render it a little more feminine on my skin than a few of its other kind that I’ve tried so far. The Hermetica collection of about a dozen or so distinct offerings is available at Perfumology and a handful of other US boutiques. 6 out of 10

it doesn't necessarily smell like blackbird, but there is a blackbird vibe to it. for sure. almost certainly some type of aromochemical (who knows WHAT, though...), but it calms down after a while to a white floral that is totally not the sorta thing I would ever wear. But yeah, Blackbird by Olympic Orchids for REAL. All I can smell is that 'enhancer' going sick in the background. It's overshadowing every other component of the scent.

This along w/ Henry Roses Jakes House made me realize I do not like Lily of the Valley as a fragrance note. I grew up on a dairy farm and there was lily of the valley in our woods. They smell nice in the air but if you put your nose right in them it is to strong, strong enough to give you a headache. In perfume that is what it does to me.

My signature scent — maybe my favorite of all time. Green, clean, mysterious, luxurious, sensual, sophisticated. Feels like walking through an exotic plant conservatory; sunlight flickering through the glass above your head, soft mist raining down as you move through the kudzu, gardenia, and thatch palms. I could drink it. 🌱🦎🌿🍃🌱

Unique, spicy, but it gives me a headache. It is OK, but not my favorite of the bunch, though I am aware that it is just maybe my aversion for the pairing of lily of the valley musk and ginger. The ginger is a bit overpowering this imo, and recently I tried another gingery perfume I liked better so idk. Pass :(

I hated this one so much and that is saying something because this whole set was a major letdown. There were only 2 that were good the rest were just plain horrible and this one was the worst. It is so green and sharp. Way to much lily of the valley. It is a lily of the valley and green note bomb. Horrible.

I find it crazy people say this doesn’t have longevity, I can smell this all day!! I would definitely say it’s a spring/summer scent. I’ve only had it a few months so I can’t wait for spring to arrive and to spray this on my skin and wear out in The sun!

Ginger striking as lime, very faint floral notes, no musk to detect, and an oily base that smells like cooking oil on me. then the aroma chemical I hatingly call Screamwood comes in and shrieks in high C like rubbing alcohol. Great big pass.

Jade888 is a vetiver musk with lily of the valley and some ginger. It does floats around lily of the valley mostly but there is a clear vetiver with some musk and ginger. not my thing but it's ok.

I tested today, oily juices take a long time to dry. smells good in general but not unique. dominated by sweet smells and mossy green. a bit feminine and too sweet for my taste.

At first sniff, I smell Fancy Windex. But as it dries down it softens and opens up to be a green, clean scent. It's pretty but just OK. Nothing crazy.
