Lavincense

Yeeehah! What a corker! So, my fave Lavender scent is Tom Ford Lavender Extreme. In my opinion also the best performing TF technically. Well, I have massive respect for Hermetica. A brand that sadly doesn’t get the recognition or sales it deserves - but maybe that’s a good thing? A little secret! Credit due... no disrespect to previous reviews but the closet comparison to this is Lavender Extreme... for half to a third the price! So, close but still unique I’m so happy I can indulge without using up my LE bottle so fast. I’m so happy... awesome blind buy... so a Lavender forward scent - quite strong - the fleshy dark purple middle with at first a touch of its medicinal brightness. After a few minutes the vanillic aspect bodies out the fleshy darkness. Nose to skin the sage can be detected sitting on top but basically helps give a bit more body on top and keeps a little bite on top. All the other notes are quite complimentary including the incense and after a 8 hours fade leaving a smooth tonka with lavender. There in for me is the difference with LE which is super high quality but basically bright fresh lavender with the body and tonka - the tonka eventually becoming prominent. This is not as bright a the fleshy part is more complicated and the long dry down is a lavender tonka combo. Absolutely gorgeous- still smells strong after a shower 8.5 hours in :)

Unexpectedly beautiful! Exactly as you think it would smell like - lavender + incense, blended in a beautiful way. As Hermetica describe it themselves, it is floral, ambery, woody. The richness as expected in your typical ambery scents is cut through with the lavender, aromatics and wood notes. Perfectly unisex and a great colder weather fragrance. There’s a “pencil shavings” note in the opening, perhaps the cedar. But it adds interest and is fleeting anyway. Not overly strong which I’m happy about when it comes to richer scents. Moderate to long lasting. Definitely a worthy try.

It's an earthy lavender plus frankincense frag. Simple but we'll balanced. I don't own anything like it. It's not a fresh and sharp lavender like Guerlain's Frenchy Lavander, which I also like a lot. To some extent it reminds me of Hermetica's verticaloud, by being earthy and a bit leathery. It's a new dimension of olfactory experience for me. So far, I find it interesting and pleasing.

Sharp, nose-stinging lavender opening w/ an aggressive medicinal note. Literally smells like a lavender-scented Vicks nasal inhaler. I’m instantly transported back to my childhood sick bed, stuffy nose, Maman standing over me brandishing a thermometer & that insufferable, invasive nasal stick...yes, home from school yet miserable bcz I really am sick this time & not playing hooky. Drydown bcms a softer, herbaceous lavender - almost beautiful if not for its nasal stick stems.

Not sure why the notes here are incorrect, but this is what Hermetica says is in this perfume: lavender essence, incense oil and sage molecule. The perfume is exactly that - smoky lavender and sage. It’s very herbaceous, it’s not vanilla sweet lavender perfume like YSL one. This is kind of masculine, but you really have to be a fan of incense, otherwise it’s too smoky.

It's basically lavender and frankincense as the name suggests. The lavender here is a sharp one, only for a few minutes, then it becomes quite smooth. A cool, somewhat distant frankincense is always there, but not dominant. Like a much smoother and tamer Encens et Lavande from Serge Lutens. Or an Eau Noire without coffee at all This is my first review from this brand, so i'd also like to talk about their alcohol-free approach. You can really feel the fragrance is like a moisturizing oil as they claim, so i don't recommend spraying on clothes. Bottomline, it's good. Nothing groundbreaking but good. I'd wear this

Lavender is quite sharp and herbaceous on opening. Didn’t like it at all but as it drys down it gets smoother and sweeter. Lavender extreme is a lot sweeter and richer. This stays a bit more herbaceous and dryer. Deep dry down get a little bit of that pencil sandal wood thing going on but it’s very faint. a nice replacement considering LE is discontinued. I find twilight from lush surprisingly the closest dupe so far. This lasts and projects quite well too

A raw, pastoral kind of lavender, mixed in with strong herbal thyme, giving it an earthy smell. It is made smoother by ingredients like vanilla and incense. Similar to Pour un Homme de Caron with that strong, raw grassy kind of dominating lavender, but just not as pungent and overwhelming.

I am looking for this but it's not available in the US. Please let me know if you're up for swapping or otherwise bartering your bottle.... 😊
