Sandalsun

I have Woodysandal and now Sandalsun too. I was blown away by the opening. The nuttiness of the hazelnut is incredibly realistic. Someone below mentioned SOL Cheirosa #62, they are like distant cousins. If you Iike the former, good chance you'll like this one too. This opens with that hazelnut and transitions into a creamy vanillic sandalwood that pulls in to an intimate distance. Comparing this to Woodysandal, Woodysandal is very dry, soft spicey and kinda soapy like. They are nothing alike and both fbw if you're wondering. They both perform similarly. Projection pulls in after the first hour but your left with a personal scent bubble for at least 8 hours.

YUMMO! Being anti-gourmand, I’ve never really experienced hazelnut as a prominent note, nor was I overly interested. First spray is very photorealistic and it is delicious! Not tainted by sweetness but baring itself for what it is. While transitioning straight into the sandal heart which is super smooth, the hazelnut continues to hang in the background. Not much projection but still long lasting. Not bad if you want to smell like Nutella while snuggling with a loved one.

Sweet hazelnut with vanilla frost. This is a bitter hazelnut blended in with it's shells and poured in a ban then poured the vanilla frost on top of it. It's partially gourmand and not fully edible. It does have hints of sour coconut with lime that makes it take a detour. I can't detect any myrrh! maybe some balsamic factor but no myrrh. This is an amazing blend that i loved from top till base, specially when i first sprayed it. Excellent and pretty amusing.

This is extremely nutty and smooth. Hermetica is a new discovery and I really appreciate the ecological side of it and the fact that all fragrances are alcohol free. If you appreciate creamy gourmand leaning fragrances do check it out. I was very attracted to it, but soon realized that I have something very similar. It’s all hazelnuts, fall winter kind of a scent...cosy and warm, very welcoming. Longevity is good and I love the refill option.

Hazelnuts, hazelnuts... excuse me, but now, on summertime I hear hazelnuts only for few second from beggining, after comes cianidic sirupy cherry'ish heliotrope, something like Manifesto or Hypnotic Poison edt, after creamy sandal and hedion.. maybe a bit of myrhh.. Very cozy gourmand perfume, not sweetly sweet at all, just charming

REALLY warm, smooth, oudy, but imho still just feels SO summer. This does not feel like a winder fragrance at all to me. It doesn't actually smell too much LIKE '62 Sol de Janeiro but they are in a very similar lane/vibe for me, would reach for them for the same reasons in summer.

my first nut/sandalwood fragrance! tried this since i was mostly interested in the vanilla note. a sweet, nutty and gorgeous gourmand - the opening smells just like nutella !! bought the 50mL on sale for $149 aud from perfume forever after the first (second) sniff lol - from the nozzle this smells more almondy than hazelnutty! i'm very surprised that this ended up being a scent i really enjoyed, since i've never been interested in fragrances that focus on nutty notes (eg. kayali's pistachio gelato). regarding the packaging, i understand that it is a little annoying - the actual box is a hassle to close if you open it from the gold mesh, however this isn't too much of an issue if you open it from the bottom (where the logo is) !! i don't really mind the appearance of the bottle itself since the only thing that really matters is the scent. i love the dry down of this scent the most ; soft and woody with the TINIEST trace of spice (which is probably just the sandalwood) that melds beautifully with the skin. this is a lovely unisex fragrance, but to many people i imagine this may lean a bit more feminine due to its sweetness. regardless, this would smell absolutely amazing on any gender! <3

Hermetica Sandalsun, like the other entries in the house, is fairly agreeable. It’s mainly a mix of bergamot, sandalwood, hazelnut, vanilla, cocoa, and myrrh. Unsurprisingly, then, it’s sweet, though not overly heavy. It’s bright with the bergamot, that same Source1 DNA that has a citrus vibe. It also faintly smells of sunscreen in that respect. It’s sharp and sort of creamy, but with the main ingredients, it becomes an overall quite sweet experience. It’s a very interesting, versatile fragrance, good but not great on my skin, at least. I usually applaud fragrances that are at the intersection of different styles—in this case, a gourmand and freshie—but Sandalsun feels stuck in limbo in between. Still, because it’s peculiar and practically versatile, I could see this being among the more popular offerings of the line. It has the same standard pricing of the line for $195 for 100ml, $135 for 50ml—as I’ve generally said, fairly reasonable in the niche world. Despite me not being wowed by it or finding it as useful on me personally, I’d especially encourage everyone to try this one. It has some quirks and I could see it being a winner for many. 7 out of 10

Sandalsun is a true discovery. A nuanced, woody, and resinous Hazelnut, all smooth and warm. It's reminiscent of Pierre Guillaume's "Praline Santal" with its powdery, almost gourmand nuts, heliotrope, and sandalwood. Except that Sandalsun (as its name suggests) has beautiful solar notes (frangipani and monoi) induced by hedione and juicy bergamot. I really like it, but I know it could be suffocating and uncomfortable for some. It's an almost milky scent of rice and skin, quite intimate. On some, it will even become as clean as a tonka-hazelnut shower gel because the myrrh almost creates a soapy facet. A lovely paradox.

I like the scent. Hate the bottle. Can't lift it by the ugly gold cap, I find the green color very loud, it doesn't match the juice, it's so unappealing up close, and worst of all, it dosen't fit upright in my fragrance drawers. Just annoying packaging to the point that I'm looking for an empty bottle to fully decant this. UPDATE I keep forgetting that I even own this fragrance as I can't store it with the rest of my collection because this bottle it too tall to fit.

My Husband enjoyed this one and so did I. It was his favorite of this sample kit, it was my 2nd favorite after Vaninights. It is a summer scent, very nutty, coconut, tropical fruits. It would be a great scent to take on a tropical vacation. It has great lasting power and I saved this sample to wear in the summer. I doubt I will buy a full bottle, it isn't my usual type of scent but if you like tropical coconut/fruity scents give the one a try.

Nutty gourmand made with quality, natural smelling ingredients. One of my favorites from my Hermetica Discovery Box. Beside hazelnuts, I pick up a milky vanilla and cocoa note. Good overall performance, Sandalsun won’t win any niche originality awards—I’ve smelled similar perfumes—but at current retail prices you get a lot of bang for your buck. I’m impressed.

This is so interesting. When I was just getting into fragrances in beginning 2023 I didn't like it at all. Now that my nose is more experienced I smelled it again. The hazelnut is the prominent note here, it almost has that bitter quality while still being a somewhat gourmand fragrance, and it's very well-blended. I really like it.

The hazelnuts are there! They truly are. In my opinion the nutty smell really overwhelmed me at first sniff, but after a couple of minutes the fragrance settles down beautifully, almost blending in with your skin. It leaves an intimate sillage, but lasts for quite a while. Lovely fragrance, but just a little overpriced.

This fragrance is very uplifting for me. I do think it smells very sunny and smooth. It would be good in sun-care products. I think also good as a haircare product smell. It was a mood booster. This smell reminds me of the feeling of having lain in the sun awhile and falling asleep. Definitely woody gourmand.

top notes: hazelnut, vanilla, pleasant middle notes: vanilla, musky, coriander, sandalwood base notes: sandalwood, vanilla very pleasant masculine fragrance. not bad, but there's some others out there with similar scent profile. Solid 8.5/10 though.

Literally smells like Nutella and I want it. For warmer days if you still want to smell like a snack. Very similar to Saint Honoré but much lighter and more beachy.

I was expecting the nutty opening to hit me the way a surprise gift in a form of a box of pralines would- it didn't. It's aggressive, not very well-blended and simply disappointing. Unless you're into smelling like rich, overwhelming chocolates without a touch of sweetness, don't even bother. On the other hand, it's delicious in the dry down and I would love to find a lotion that mimics the experience of Sandalsun slowly settling on my skin into a very intimate, vanilla based beauty.

This is a light and pleasant scent with hints of vanilla and hazelnut. It's a light gourmand that won't fill up a room. There's nothing amazing about this scent for me and leans more feminine but it's still nice. It's nothing I would run out and buy, but I'm enjoying the sample that I received.

If you're into hazelnuts, this is the scent for you. Nothing for me really.

incredibly culinary- the opening hazelnut molecule is so toasty i initially smelled popcorn. the rest of it is warm vanilla and caramel. honestly, i don't get a hint of myrrh, which is a shame, because i think sandalsun needs something to combat the intense... dessertitude of it. i bet if you're into gourmands, the hazelnut note will excite you, and i have to stress that i find it interesting, but the overall sweetness of the thing is just not my bag, baby.

Burnt sugar, candy floss, nutella, whatever you ask is there. From an aesthetics point of view, one of the worst perfumes i've ever smelled, together with Montale Chocolate Greedy. Will never understand why people'd like to smell like this

it's become one of my favorite gourmet perfumes.i have tried sample and liked it so much. Hermetica has no alcohol and parabens, they are vegan, there is no water and oil based. when i spray first i get the roasted hazelnut and vanilla. This scent also is not transforms a lot. it is sweet but not heavy,it's soft not a sharp. It's just like biscuit which has hazelnut, vanilla and chocolate pieces. I think those who love Lira will also love this parfume Absolutely delicious! Longevity is good but I just wish it would have better protection. It's gettin close to skin after 3-4 hours on my skin. Lira sevenlerin bu parfümü de seveceğini düşünüyorum. Bence kış ve sonbahara daha çok gidecek bir koku. Kalıcılığı gayet iyi fakat parfüm yaklaşık 3-4 saat sonra tene yaklaşıyor. This is sooo addictive! It's a hazelnutty, gourmand, DRY fragrance which is very interesting and unlike others. It smells of excellent quality and I noticed Hermetica nail the 'dry' realm of scents; I also have samples of Amberbee and Vannight which I have to say all smell similar - it must be Hermetica's signature fragrance composition which I love. I honestly think this fragrance is winter appropriate and have been craving it in winter particularly; probably because it is quite strong and gourmand rather than citrusy as citrus shines in warmer weather. Do not let fragrances with the word 'sun' fool you, this is great for winter in my opinion because it is a heavy scent. It smells like sweet vanilla with high quality sandalwood. It's a delicious vanilla, unlike other synthetic marshmellowy vanillas I have smelled like for example in Vanilla2. The dryness is reminding me of fire in a way. It's a great scent in winter to warm up, and you get a hint of muskiness and creaminess in a dry manner. If you like syrupy sweet fragrances such as black orchid or girl of now, I highly recommend this one. Sandalsun has a drier, smokier edge and is very unique, hazelnutty and edible.

Sandalsun is like velvety smooth, creamy Panna cotta with roasted hazelnuts sprinkled on top. Very realistic hazelnuts, especially in the first minutes after spraying. Yummy and vanillic yet not overly sweet. As it develops a bit it becomes less "edible" and more of the sandalwood emerges but it is true- it does have this sort of summery sun lotion vibe. More like sun lotion that soaked into your skin and is now your "natural" skinscent. It is creamy, but dry. Very enjoyable and comfortable woody-gourmand. Doesn't boast crazy pojection but longevity is good- 4 hours easy. I'm yet to test it really hot days, so I will update how it performs.

Despite the name, sandalwood isn't really noticeable in this fragrance. Sandalsun has a pretty intense hazelnut accord going on; for the first couple hours, it's best appreciated at a distance for it could come off as rather harsh and oily up close. From afar though, there's a pretty interesting hazelnut spread vibe to it - smooth, creamy, lactonic, with some vanillic facets. The hazelnut note burns off in several hours with the vanilla following soon after, leaving behind the ambery notes found in Source1. Fairly unique, but not quite to my taste. Definitely an interesting gourmand.

This is a more "syrupy" version of BOND NO.9 New Bond Street. So take out the dry bready quality of that one and make it more wet & fluid and you have something like this. I quite enjoy it. I enjoy both of these hazelnutty fragrances. I may have to buy a full bottle. The resinous quality is coming off almost like a syrup or honey to me - I guess more like honeyed-myrrh*. Gourmand-leaning but not cupcake... Interesting and niche. This will be lovely on an early-Fall day when the air is just starting to turn crisp, and the first fallen leaves 🍂 are swirling around our ankles. 8/10

the hazelnut opening smells exactly like nougat in nestle's Nuts bar (the yellow one). 100% gourmand, very yummy but too realistically edible for my taste. slowly a powdery heliotrope comes out, smelling a lot like an old makeup, although still prominently nutty and very sweet. however I don't get much of vanilla, this is not typical vanilla sweet, more like a chocolate nutty dessert sweet. my favorite part is the base which IS delicious. a cozy warm very unusual gourmand. worth mentioning a very decent lasting power of sandalsun, the longest in this hermetica line.

It’s a very nutty opening. I get more of an almond note than hazelnut. It might put some people off that are not into the nutty gourmand sent profile. But then the dry down is a beautiful, sweet vanilla amaretto smelling concoction I’m picking up some light floral touches with sandalwood not exactly sure what flower it is. It prevents this fragrance from becoming a total foody gourmand. It’s beautiful. Just wish it projected more. Very yummy comforting scent. I purchased a full bottle.

This is an upgraded version of Hypnotic Poison without the play-doh note. It's almost as if someone recreated HP with better quality materials and ended up with a more rounded and refined fragrance. The notes have both harmony and pop - a difficult trick to pull off. The hazelnut gives this a lift of sweetness without any cloying sugariness. The vanilla is more like a vanilla bean than a vanilla cake. It's not the most original fragrance, but it's lovely and well crafted.

I bought Sandalsun (50ml) because I looved the sample from the Hermetica discovery set.. now I figured out that it's too nutty and sweet for me (and I looove gourmands) and everytime I want to reach out, I just can't spray it. If you are in Europe and want to swap, DM me.. I used around 3-4ml from the bottle. I don't have the golden box anymore, because it was plastic and I didn't like it. :D I payed 90 euros for Sandalsun.

Beautiful hazelnut / vanilla perfume, soft and perfectly gourmand, not to sugary. Longevity is good, 6-8h on my skin. Projection is so intimate though, you need to literally put your nose on the skin to feel it. A bit disappointing.

One of my favourites from Hermerica, delicious smells like Nutella! I love it. If you're missing Roberto Cavalli Her Gold this is a good replacement. Also the formula is very moisturising as it does not contain alcohol.

A cozy woody vanilla, smells like a smooth creamy body product. Somehow I detect almonds instead of hazelnuts. Dries down to a skin scent.
