Coeur Couronne

Coeur Couronne (The Crowned Heart) is based around the davana flower. Davana is a relative of artemisia, but it's not artemisia per se. It looks and smells different, yet the two has some bitterness in common. This scent opens like the inside of an old, used rosewood humidor, a sigar box. It has that earthy, rich, semi-sweet tobacco/sigar smell, mixed with woody and rosey nuances. Very unique and beautiful. Very sensual. After a while it gets fruitier, in a sweet, dark kind of way. It reminds me of homemade plum marmelade, made from dark purple plums. I can still smell the sigar, and it mixes beautifully with that plummy sweetness. The drydown is sweet and creamy. It smells of burnt sugar and vanilla, like a newly made creme brulee. That burnt sugar note smells similar til Sugarwood by Costamor actually. The sweetness never feels like too much though. It's a very well balanced scent, never smelling sugary and cheap sweet. It has a refined, mature sweetness. This is such a uniqe and gorgeous scent. Deep, rich, dark and sensual. It feels sophisticated and elegant, and still very approachable and intriguing. Longevity is about 7-8 hours on me, and sillage is medium. Great creation! So glad I own this. :)

Sophisticated Perfume,gallant and refined! Suitable for cold days.. envelops you with an intense and unusual aura, beginning may seem strange, but in the drydown is evolving into a magnificent and unique scent. The davana is the note that I hear more, but also vanilla in the background makes this fragrance a precious jewel. The sillage is enormous, takes only a few sprays, longevity is very good. Beautiful high quality vanille, with soft notes of caramel, entwined with incense...I sence also very well notes of Rose and Jasmin. Its extremely beautiful fragrance, very unusual. I especially love dry down...so warm, delicious caramel-like with jasmin, but not sickly sweet...perfectly blended. Another masterpiece of this amazing Parfumeur! Bravo!

I smelled this in the city center of Basel, Switzerland. Its surprisingly cheap for it's strength. It's wonderful, can't really describe it

Basil! and caramel! it's like wandering in a vegetable fresh store while wearing a caramel essential oil! It is quite very interesting to be honest specially with that splash in the face caramel and artemisia that created the VERY SOUR RED ROSES! but wait, i believe IT IS neroli AND red roses with a bed of artemisia and caramel plated with vanilla. It's not a gourmand and yet it's delicious and sourly sharp beautiful! it gives quite mix feeling to be specific and definitely it's a winning fragrance. I can't classify it as gourmand, and not floral, not rosy, and not citrus either! it's a mix of everything. Well blended and infatuation. Edit (15th July 2017) This fragrance is extremely sharp, & not the red rose black pepper mix sharp, it's a blood like sharp! it's expression is like the paper cut sharp, as the cut is barely seen but the feeling of pain is just big and overwhelming, I really liked the outcome of this fragrance and i believe it's the winning creation of this house. I just wish they created a smaller version of this bottle like their "Eaux De Parfum" line with 30 ml bottles.

The genre I would say this is of is the dusty attic or boxroom . I partially agree with the 'cigar-box' figure for it ... although I wouldn't describe it precisely that way myself; but I well-understand what the author of it is getting-at, & definitely agree that it rocks that idiom . Another one quite conspicuously of the same idiom, I would say, but very different in detail is Laurent Mazzone's Cicatrices . The reviewer below has low-rated the tenacity of this 'fume ... but I think it's actually genuinely subtle : a little over a year ago I wore it, & at the time I felt myself that it wasn't very robust ...but now I've just put some on, and the moment my breath caught the mist I was just transported back in imagination to 'that day when I was immersed in the aroma of it allday' ... & I was mostly outside aswell!

Where does that cigar note come from? Is it listed? Thats actually all i can smell in the opening.. Cigarbox, woodsy notes, soft soft Jasmin Maybe.. Not sure if I would wear this... though it is soft and delikat.. Not my cup of tea, I Guess... Maybe og the Vanilla was more prominent.. 🤪 I was surpristed to See the notes, as they are completely different from my expectation. I dont get alt vanille :)

Weird in a good way. Reminds me of a couple of Amouages, it's between Memoir Woman and Interlude Woman. Incredible value given you can find this for like 30 euros if you look hard enough.
