Buon Pranzo

sharp pepper opening, which quiets down and melts into a soft yellow butter chunk rubbed on hot a waxy yellow flower. orville redenbacker accord, stays close to the skin & for a while. when i wear this or other soliani lactonic frags i feel like my skin turns into an intimate dairy scented heaven after a few hours! i dooo wish the opening was more long lasting because it is sublime. even though this is a subtle spice in the dry down, compared to miss tranchant it definitely is peppery butter whereas miss tranchant is decidedly butter + brine.

Classic Hilde DNA structures the scent. The butter comes across as sweeter than I predicted, veering more towards a vanillic white musk. A little yeasty, bready. While the butter thickens the fragrance, the slight aromatics round it out to create a very unique scent that is still good for everyday wear. I am not getting an abundance of pepper as others note - my partner thinks this smells more spicy than I do.

so I'm getting no butter from this whatsoever.. that being said the black pepper is so nice! it's like a really exaggerated black pepper - fragrant and fruity and just a little bit spicy but very pleasant! agreed w the person below me, it'd be good for layering but isn't doing a whole lot on its own.

absolutely love- this was such a beautiful and unique well rounded scent. I do wish it lasted longer, but I may just keep a smaller size on me at all times to re-spritz as needed.

i love to overspray myself to sleep with this one.

EDIT: After trying By the Fireplace, I see SOOOO many similarities. So many of the same notes just very slightly less smoke in the drydown of the Soliani fragrance. I think this is a good example of perception changing how people smell things especially when you look at how differently these two are marketed. It doesn't seem like these should be the same and yet they are sister fragrances for sure. ------ I don't smell, what Catpants does but the immediate opening is definitely savory & foody! After a few minutes, this has a peach note, not listed, that I also smelled in other Hilde combinations. I think it is working to help support the butter note? The pepper wears off quickly and there is a soft butteriness with a little sweet, salty and maybe a tiny bready. Interesting and, after the opening, wearable, close to the skin scent.

If yellow was a smell.... This is interesting. I find the butter to be a mix between a buttercream and maybe a clarified butter for dipping lobster. Minus the lobster of course, there’s nothing savoury about this. It smells thick and fatty which is super cool, I do like the butter note however after it dries down I start to get these fruity whiffs every now and then? Like an almost acetone sweetness that I don’t love? It’s not rancid or bad at all just not what I was expecting or wanting from this fragrance. I just want to smell like ONLY milk fats. I think I can appreciate what they’ve done here, I think it’s cool but I’m just not sure if it’s something I want to smell like. I think dandelion butter by clue is more my speed as a butter scent because there’s a little more depth and nuance going on that just straight up butter.

good for layering if u want a little kick of black pepper with another more complex scent... it really is just butter and black pepper but the simplicity makes it inoffensive and interesting

Sooooooo disappointing, I really wanted to smell the butter but all I’m getting is the pepper and some white florals. big nail polish remover top note, which at least doesn't stick around.

I tested a sample of Buon Pranzo perfume today in 90 degree dry desert heat. It is a strong skin scent with no trail and lasted on my dry skin about 4 hours before fading. Hoping for another salted caramel scent I do smell caramel at opening followed by salt but it quickly became a plastic doll scent. No pepper or butter noticed. Maybe this perfume is not meant for heat. I will retest my sample in fall or winter to see if it improves but for now this is a definite no!

Based on the notes, I should have LOVED this. But the butter just was not there for me. All I could smell is some faint peppercorn and whispers of florals. It leans more sweet than savory. No lactonic or oily nature to this scent.

Oh man! At first this was vaguely herbal, then transformed into a realistic black pepper and fake/popcorny type butter. Within an hour, unfortunately, the butter note had soured into a yogurty smell that reminded me of someone's dirty scalp. I had to wash this one off. Yuck.

Smells like a dog piss soaked carpet! Gave me a migraine. Would not leave my skin, felt like I had a daycare following me around all day.

Holy savory hell. This is both a nauseating smell and an impressive feat. This smells like raw black peppercorns strong enough to burn your nose hairs. It’s fresh, crackling, spiced, woody, dry, and aromatically fiery. The pepper really is the star of the show for most of its wear until the butter peeks its head out, muted, soft, mellow, the epitome of the color butter yellow itself. It does smell like a softened stick of butter, savory, slightly creamy, a bit warmed up, and subtle in scent. This is a weird one bc it accomplished what it sets out to do...but I can’t argue that it’s a good thing lol

I'm not going to be saying anything that hasn't already been said by saying that this smells like a bowl of buttered noodles. Whether you are interested in smelling like buttered noodles is a matter of personal preference. I like it for days I want to snap myself out of something; days when I have drifted away from the physical world, and I need to occasionally have the thought "Man, it really smells like buttered noodles in here," to bring myself back to my body.

I love this very unusual, savory, edible smelling perfume, it is unlike any fragrance I have ever worn. First I get ground black pepper that is so literal, it warms and comforts me. Also I get baked buttery breadsticks. I have purchased a sample several times in the past year, and am considering a full bottle. This is a scent I would be most comfortable wearing at home, just for me to enjoy. Rich, buttery, warming, peppery comfort treat!

first impressions: i am smelling some flowers on the table and there might just be a bowl of melted butter nearby. but i get vague yellow floral more than anything else. i'll wait around, hope the black pepper will kick it's way through... huh edit: i don't think there's a perfume out there that works for every nose. guess this is a miss w my skin chemistry, sad

I enjoy this, but already own something similar in its butteriness: Sana Jardin's Sandalwood Temple (though it doesn't list butter as a note) is a fluffier, slightly sweeter version of this, which, to me, feels more successful.
