CiocoRosissimo

This is a stunningly beautiful work of art in perfumery in my opinion. It's a scent full of contrasts and contradictions which work together and play off each other as the fragrance works its olfactory magic. CiocoRosissimo is gourmand and yet earthy, sweet and yet bitter, and it's a paradox that begs to be solved. In the opening, the chocolate and rose are the most prominent...in fact it smells like chocolate covered roses, as the notes are so well blended. There is also a spicy, but still fairly fresh earthiness to the scent from the grass, but in combination with the other notes, it has a patchouli- type scent to it, even though no patchouli is actually present. All through this scent I detect a sort of plastic note that is actually quite pleasant...which is a contradiction in itself. As it dries down, the vanilla comes through, and there is a bittersweet woodsy cacao/vanilla scent that lingers at the end. I wish I could enjoy CiocoRosissimo for longer, but unfortunately it doesn't last as long as I would have liked, which is a shame as it goes on strong but fades quickly. Nevertheless, I still love it and highly recommend this fragrance.

I truly love the comforting qualities of so many perfumes by this brilliant Italian woman. I can't think of another chocolate-rose combo that maintains such a balance between the two. I am more of a rose lover than a chocolate lover, but a few particular perfumes have made me love smelling rather chocolatey sometimes--and this is one of them. This is the smooth creamy chocolate used in a Belgian truffle or Perugian Bacio, with the sweetness cut by a fresh very red rose freshly plucked. One of those very sweet darker roses that project their perfume extra generously in the warm summer twilight. This is chocolate forward, but the rose undertone is so strong you crave to taste a velvety rose petal perhaps more than the obvious delicious chocolate that you probably indulge in regularly, if you are anything like me. Strong but very moderate respectful sillage. The smell of quality and my obsession with roses makes this very full bottle-worthy, I would be more inclined to layer this with another quality rose perfume for personal preferences, but this is sexy, ladylike, and very special as a gourmand. Precious and intoxicating.

I have a love hate relationship with this smell, it's a gorgeous fragrance but at the same time it smells a bit churchy, something a grandma would wear. I could't wear this in public, but at home It's incredible. Edit: I'm completely in LOVE with this now! It evokes some kind of memories in me, memories I'm not even aware of. This fragrance if full of emotions, when I'm wearing it I literally lose my head. This is the most unique fragrance ever so I got me a full bottle. In the beginning I wasn't too sure about it, but the more I wore it the more I realized the ART of it, just gorgeous!

Oh wow, this is delicious, i think i have found my favorite gormand Rose! It so perfectly warm, velvety and totally uplifting! This is making me very happy. The chocolate note is natural & real chocolate. This is a perfect potion, the Rose is gentle & lush Red, but not overwhelming, it quite Balanced. I must have this! The review below is spot on!

CiocoRosissimo opens with an enchanting duo of rose and chocolate. The chocolate here is like bitter, dark cacao powder, with its dry and almost powdery texture further underscored by the supporting woody base. Contrasting this is the sweet, rich rose, unctuous and decadent like honeyed rose jam and slightly tart, wine-y rose liqueur pouring over the dry chocolate chips. One interesting element listed here is the grass. Personally, I don't smell any fresh greenness, but rather the sharp, almost spicy aspect that I associate with Leaf Alcohol. Blended with the woody cacao, it actually conveys a nutmeg spiciness to me, bringing in an unexpected dimension to the rose-chocolate duo. The bitterness and spiciness of chocolate mellow with time, and the fragrance eventually becomes a woody rose with a creamy gourmand undertone and its edge softened by the discreet vanilla. CiocoRosissimo then remains as such until it disappears after 10 hours. Its sillage is mostly moderate. I used to love sweet gourmand rose, but lately my tolerance seems to be growing lower and lower, much to my chagrin. Sadly, CiocoRosissimo eventually is a wee bit too sweet for my peronal enjoyment. That being said, I admire the complexity of different notes and the contrasts between them displayed in this fragrance, and would definitely recommend giving it a try, especially if you're looking for a sophisticated rose chocolate fragrance and can handle a certain degree of rosy sweetness.

Gourmands beware and sample first! Ack! Awful floral - heavy rose subdued by...something, but I had to scrub it off after 15 min of torture waiting for all this "warm/cocoa/soft/warm" -ness. I'm guessing this smells gourmand to those who love heavy florals? Onto the next sample...

Let's just get right to the punch : I adore this. I love many gourmand fragrances, and some floral if not too overbearing, but lean more towards gourmand. I am new to describing fragrances, however I will try. I agree with others on the sophiscated cocoa and rose (yes turkish delight too). My body chemistry keeps me smelling this all day without having to put my wrist up to my nose, it envelopes me. There is something that you might say smells like musk, but it is not, I cannot do musk at all. I am in constant search for new fragrances of mine since a friend turned me onto all these niche fragrances. I am find the house of Hilde Soliani makes some wonderful fragrances. Rose, chocolate and picking up a bit of Rum here also. If you like this you will like Guerlain Elixir Charnel Gourmand Cocoa. Similar, but that to my nose has a bit of anise to it (on me anyways). This is rich. Nobody will smell like you. Oh, so happy to have sampled this and got myself a FB. In a way it also very dress up. Sorta of how Amouage Gold is to me only for a very special day such as a wedding or even a bedding of a new lover. Did I say that! Well, these new fragrances I am trying are wonderful. Do not be fooled into thinking the only fragrance for you ladies is sitting on the counter of a high end department store. Read about it on here, then go to Lucky Scent and buy a sample. You will love yourself for it. The prices are higher, but so worth it. Happy Sniffing :)

CiocoRosissimo is a powdered chocolate delight. Rose and cocoa go so well together, and it's not surprising that more and more perfumers tend to be re-creating this blend. Hilde Soliani is quite an underrated niche house. In addition to this fragrance, I also enjoy her Ti Amo: Ortensia. When CiocoRosissimo hits my skin, I can detect a scent that is not unlike the smell of a chocolate icecream complete with a waffle cone. Very gourmand indeed. As this fragrance begins to settle, it becomes more powdery and floral. The rose note in CiocoRosissimo is soft and feminine, more pink than red. I originally believed this fragrance to be a soft scent, however my mother managed to smell CiocoRosissimo on me whilst standing at quite a distance. This was shortly after two light spritzes on each wrist. I seriously cannot stop sniffing my wrist. This fragrance is both addictive and incredibly alluring. CiocoRosissimo is easily one of my favourite chocolate gourmands. CiocoRosissimo has moderate to strong sillage, (depending on the number of sprays), and lasts around seven hours on my skin. This fragrance is a little pricey however I consider it worthy of such a price tag. I highly recommend this fragrance.

Hmm. I get a 'strong mad rose incense' from this from start to finish. Definitely a very 'Indian' incense smell. Chocolate? Maybe a very very thin sliver of plain dark. If you think of the taste of a piece of real Turkish Delight, covered with a really really thin layer of dark chocolate, the taste of that, I imagine, is like the smell of Ciocorosissimo. I don't find this perfume 'gourmand' at all really and I wouldn't classify it as sweet at all. Where's the vanilla?! :( The chocolate, to be honest, is barely discernable at any stage, to me, and there's no sugar in it. Towards the end of the drydown, maybe next day, when traces linger on the skin, I get a slightly 'spicy' smell that kind of reminds me of Green and Blacks Maya Gold chocolate, which contains nutmeg and cinnamon- I'm not really keen on that kind of spicy. Overall, I find Ciocorosissimo interesting and not unpleasant, it's just dominated by that 'mad incense rose' for me, and not comforting and puddingy like I thought it would be.

Buttery and caressing, yet alive and kind of fresh. This woody rose in perfect balance with the chocolate and vanilla, sensual yet dynamic. I fully agree with Starlight_Angel, this essence full with contrast, Hilde found a way how need connect the opposite aromas with each other seamlessly,became forming a unified whole. CiocoRosissimo has the same quality like CiocoSpecissimo has, minus the fizziness and the piquancy. Intimate, warm and delightful encounter of the notes. Warm, powdery woody-rose nuanced by vanilla and a shrug of little green purr... :) Particular and heavenly.

This is a female chocolate intended to seduce. Its main advantage is the rose bloom in the heart, with thick red petals, velvety and fragrant. Rose is liquor-ish , Turkish delight like, sugary and passionate. A lipstick note gives a sophisticated trail to the whole story. The smell of chocolate is not sweet, but thick and slightly spicy, with the rose reigning the gourmand notes. Green grass provides sufficient freshness for the composition. I love this fragrance!

I've just received this beauty...and I can't add very much to the wonderful reviews below... only the fact that I find it a very natural and nice fragrance of chocolate and rose, very well blended. And do you know the Avon bubble bath "Winter rose"? Well, after a while Ciocorosissimo becomes very similar to it's scent on my skin! That's surely a comfortable, warm winter rose fragrance:)

....Definitely has some Willy Wonka moments in the beginning. Everything becomes rosey quickly leaving the other sweet notes (i.e vanilla) waiting in line to make its debut. Once the gourmand ingredient appear, it's then joined by spices that I can only describe in a nutmeg manner. The drydown is very similar to Montale's Intense Cafe. Not bad, not bad...

Ooh! A complex gourmand. This is not a perfume you buy to please others. No this is for you. It smells of a rich rose carressed by folds of dark chocolate with salty sprinkles on top. It lasts all day and lets you while away the hours in a warm haze.
