Panna Montata

At first my nose was reading this as sweetened condensed coconut milk, but as it warmed on the skin it became more airy and I got the sweetened whipped cream impression with Tahitan vanilla. So very delicious for a glorious few minutes.

Panna montata, Italian for "whipped cream.". Well, if you were to use your imagination, it kind of smells like it? But it also smells nondescript in a way if that makes sense lol. Panna montata sits very close to the skin with moderate longevity. I think Crema di Latte and Quin Meringa are much better Hilde offerings if you are looking for a sweet lactonic fragrance.

I keep testing this on skin to see if it gets better. I have had it for almost a year. In the past it was a little thick, heavy and cloying, but today I'm getting sugar granules which I am liking/tolerating better. It reminds me of a creamier/smoother version of Pink Sugar. It seems to fade pretty quick without much sillage.

I really have no idea what this is supposed to smell like, but it's definitely not sugar or milk or whipped cream. It smells like any combination of three or four random candles at a Target or Marshalls. Pleasant but cheap and completely indecipherable.

I was really hoping that this scent would be more photorealistic without that thickened cloying layer over it like a shiny varnish. Pretty disappointing as someone that's been on this Milk quest for years. It's more like a thick syrup, condensed milk with the dull metallic smell from the can.

Definitely agree with the candle wax smell on skin from the review below. Very subtle glade bathroom air freshener vibe. Not for me!

Very sweet, lactonic, but unfortunately on my skin this smells like a candle or a car freshener. It is extremely artificial and harsh... it is sweet and slightly lactonic but undescriptive. I am sorry, I have tried and loved many Hilde Soliani scents, but this one is not wearable for me. Maybe it is wonderful on other people but not on me.

Trying this one today...powdery, floral and lactonic in the opening then moves on to sour sweetarts with clean patchouli in the dry down. Somehow I kind of love it.
