Kohl

I finally added a full bottle of Kohl to my Hind Al Oud collection. I got a 5ml travel spray to try it first. This is unlike other rose-saffron-oud combinations of fragrances. It doesn't turn overly sweet or barnyard oud like. It stays true, it's feminine, it's mature and it's elegant. I can understand why a person under 30 wouldn't enjoy this. It's not playful. This is sophisticated and dreamy. None of the 3 main notes overpower each other, they are smoothly blended. I detect a bit of spiciness in this, like Kohl would be a daytime twin sister of Al Oud (another beautiful fragrance by Hind Al Oud, much darker, much spicier and deeper oud). One needs to love or at least enjoy Oud to appreciate most fragrances from Hind Al Oud (yaani it's in the name, lol) but the way they have blended French perfumery components with traditional Arabic ones like Oud and Musk is perfect! The only perfume I can compare this to is Al Oud (which isn't listed here on Fragrantica), both stand out and are exceptionally stunning.

Soapy musky rosy.... This is kind of fruiti somehow! could be raspberry with soapy that the musk is added to lighten up the sweetie cleanness factor that almost conquers the scene! The roses used are Turkish cause i sense bit sweet roses with a very tiny touch of saffron, but definitely huge soapy musk notes here. It's fair to be honest, and i believe this one is quite lighter than others but remains quite luxurious as i can sense that it turns into creaminess at the base. Nice.
