Ete Indien

Reminiscent of beeswas wood polish, in a good way. Starts off with a blast of sweetened citruses and transitions to this balsamic mix evoking old furniture and a room where incense has been burned for a lifetime. A nice one. Its soapy sibling would be Ne me quitte pas, another take on the bergamot-amber Shalimar vibe. Both very pleasant fragrances.

The only fragrance I've tried from Histoire d'Eaux, Ete Indian, or Indian Summer, is true to its name in that it evokes both summer and fall elements, as a citrus-dominant opening of bergamot and lemon makes way for a more herbal dry down of clary sage and patchouli and ultimately a base of vanilla and labdanum, sweet and sharp simultaneously. A decent performer, which it should be, as an EDP priced at $180 for 100ml at Osswald NYC, now on sale for $144, but not something I would have much use for, ultimately. Still, a fun try and nice experience that I imagine would suit some better. Nice to wear, but not something that I want to be continuously smelling. 7 out of 10

wow, truly this is a historial indian summer smell! amazing blend and very amusing. the Tolu Balsam, elami, and styrax are playing quite harmonic melody and being smacked down by the Geranium triple times in away that makes the vanilla and citrus shines a bit at the background. the dominant here is the tolu balsam, dusty tolu balsam with a hint of sweetness. the clary sage also shows clear. beautiful blend indeed. (2nd April 2015) OH MY... this one reminds me of my childhood when my country was in war.... basement.... and it was the cologne splattered on a wet, & dried furniture... not much air inside but the overwhelming gathering of family makes it major breezeful and lovely.
