Icelandic Wool

Icelandic Wool is an extremely unique olfactory journey unlike any other, evolving from earthy and rugged to something unexpectedly sweet and warm. At first, you’re hit with a blast of green leather — likely from the pine and leather notes — creating a raw, natural vibe. The subtle hint of cloves adds a spicy kick to this grounded opening. After the first first act opening the fragrance takes a surprising turn. What begins as earthy morphs into a full-on gourmand experience. It took me a moment to pinpoint it, but the blend of notes creates a delicious marzipan cake scent, rich and comforting. There’s a touch of fruitiness and freshness lingering in the background, just enough to keep things balanced and prevent the fragrance from becoming too sweet. The dry-down is where Icelandic Wool truly shines, adding a smoky depth to the gourmand sweetness. This added layer brings a fascinating complexity, making the fragrance feel multi-dimensional — like a beautiful, unexpected twist to a wild journey, as wild as the first settlers of Iceland themselves. From start to finish, the cashmere note is present, smoothing out the whole experience, ensuring it’s well-balanced and not overwhelming, despite its transformative nature. A perfect blend of nature, sweetness, and a touch of the wild spirit of Iceland.

To my nose (or maybe to my mind and the mental association), Icelandic Wool is like the sugary cousin of Fischersund No. 23, Fischersund ironically being the only Icelandic perfume house I know of. No. 23 is like the woodier, pinier version of this fragrance. When I first saw the "Reminds Me Of" mention of TF F'ing Fabulous, I didn't agree at all, but now that I'm wearing Icelandic Wool at this moment, I completely see the resemblance. It's like F'ing Fabulous but without that crisp, bubbly feel -- like drinking a glass of champagne (F'ing Fabulous) vs. a glass of grape juice (Icelandic Wool). One has more bite; the other is smoothed out. When I first bought Icelandic Wool, I didn't know when or where I'd wear it, but I suppose now I'd wear it wherever I'd wear F'ing Fabulous. Since, to my nose, they're very similar, you might try layering IW under FF since it would likely improve FF's longevity.
