Swedish Forests

#668 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I'm beginning to think I should just buy History Parfum's entire line and call it a day. My God this is a fabulous woody fragrance. Hands down the best I've encountered! I worked with and then worked for a Swedish company for 13 years and have been there a lot (Sadly, "The Swedish Bikini Team" of the Coppertone tanning lotion commercials isn't really a thing). I was never around anything that smelled bad (Lutefisk is a Norwegian thing, not a Swedish thing), but I was certainly never around anything or anyone that smelled this amazingly good. "Cade oil" (same as juniper tar) shows up in a number of scents I absolutely love. Tom Ford's "Ebene Fume", Lattafa's "Maahir Black", Amouage's "Search" and "Portrayal Man", Akro's "Smoke." And I really love it here. This is smokey, ambery, woody, green, definitely getting a full bottle of this. Car pool, elevator and small spaces safe, Day or night, any season, but probably better for cold weather. Date night for sure. If your mate likes a cozy fire place they'll love this.

Because it's cade not juniper and cade oil is a smoky flavor.... it's a very good fragrance, if you like the smoky ones, obviuously.

I agree with the other reviews of this fragrance, the cade oil in this is very strong. To me, this smells like walking through the remnants of a forest fire. It's pungent and relatively strong, but I wouldn't say that it's cloying. I get a little acidity from the lemon peeking through the heavy smoke, like new growth peeking through the ashes. I also get a little sweetness, but only after the first hour or so. I think the sweet grass and amber shine a little more after drydown. Very interesting and unique fragrance, although I don't think I'd buy a bottle of it. Longevity is great thank to the Extrait de Parfum, and sillage is moderate. Definitely something I'm glad I sampled before buying.

Fleeting citrus, woodsy petrol aura, followed by a profile reminiscent of MB1, but wait, it gets "worse": fecal leaning notes but standing behind the amber base. It has small facets of patchouli, but it's barely got any woodsy notes in it, only enough to tell you that it's there. For better or worse, the fecal facets are fleeting, and mainly leans on the barely-wishy-washy woodsy accords, with the supporting patchouli note, all while maintaining an amber aura. Exceptional work of art, very photorealistic scent profile, but doesn't pique me to buy a bottle.

This is not light, or fresh. It is a dark and dank burned wood smell. I think it has an note not listed in the current fragrantica breakdown. not fresh at all.

This is absolutely horrid. WTF. This is a burning Forrest but not in a good way, the wood is mixed in with garbage and something awfully synthetic. I tried to be open minded for the mid and dry down but couldn’t take it after 10 mins. Scrubber.

I mean, if you’re trying to smell like a walking bonfire smoke, go for it. It’s literally the smell of smoke on your clothes when you’re close to a bonfire. That’s all I smell lol not for me. Edit: dry down is quite nice. I can still smell the smokiness but not as strong now.

This smells like a wood barbecue grill after the flames have been doused.
