H&M Comoro Ylang

Nice green floral summer scent. Smells very similar to Diptyque Moheli

A blind buy, as I got a bunch of different scents from a clearance sale. Ylang is a tricky scent for me, as - generally being a lovely note, can have a backfiring effect on my nose when not played to my liking. As my previous buys were Patchouli and Rose, both rather dominant, I was expecting a solid outburst. And... no. It is gentle, sweet and soft like a whiff of scented air from nearby flowers, fresh, pleasing and absolutely the best version of ylang I've ever come across. The extra bonus is that it reminds me of my Ode a la Joie by Yves Rocher, that is discontinued and nothing will ever replace it :( well, this one coming surprisingly close. What a beautiful coincidence!

This is a nice warm summer scent. Nothing spectacular - but comforting and soft. I get soft ylang ylang, that leans flowery from the white flowers, with sweet mandarin and a little spice from the ginger.

Strong Ananya vibes with this one. At least this is how I remember the 90s classic from The Body Shop.

This is a fragrance I have never been able to enjoy. Bought it cheap on sale, the compact rollerball applicator size that fits in my handbag, blind buy IIRC. There is a rubber/plastic/artificial undertone that overpowers any floral scent. There is a distinct lack of sweetness or depth to the scent; there are only heady, artificial industrial notes screaming at you from the get-go. Fine as an emergency fragrance to carry around but I would not wear this given other options. May work well as a layering perfume; I have yet to try this.

I don't hate it but definitely I don't like it either. For me, it has a pungent, screetchy funeral flower scent when I spray it. That fades away in around an hour, leaving a soft but still sour scent. At the end it is floral, sweet and not pungeant at all, but too weak to be enjoyed. I bought it after some good reviews I saw in youtube, so maybe my bottle was gone bad when I got it. Either way, it was disappointing.

First impression (rollerball): - Fresh fruity-floral, a bit 90's melon-cucumber aquatic note. - I don't get much ylang ylang. If any flower, I get strawberry jasmine. - Unoriginal, as in I immediately felt like I'd smelt it before, maybe at The Body Shop in a lovely shower gel or something decades ago. [Edit: another reviewer said it's Ananya, which makes a LOT of sense. It's not so much super-generic as its "I actually smelled this exact perfume, at a The Body Shop, in the 90's".) - Not getting any spices. - Growing on me? Update: did not get more interesting or less 90's shower gel w/ time or more tries.

I bought the Perfume Oil after reading the notes on the H&M website. On initial application the top notes are very fresh. I get a sharp kind of floral that almost smells a little green, probably due to the spices. After a few minutes its a yellow floral. The silage is very good. The ginger is quite subtle, the pink peppercorn is not as noticeable to me as other blends I have in my wardrobe. This is a heady but clean feeling floral. Quite a unique fragrance. I would say it's definitely a 25yo+ fragrance. I think someone who likes Moschino Glamour might like as a less sweet alternative.

This is a very fruity sweet ylang scent that is brightened further by the spices. The ginger and pink pepper make for a nice twist on what might otherwise be a middle of the road scent. It reminds me of something my mother would for an evening out although it is still very contemporary.
