H&M Lipstick - A dash of colour

this was SUCH a pleasant surprise for me! I added it to my cart last minute for my latest h&m order because it was on sale (and it’s super cheap to begin with) and I was curious to see what h&m scents are like. I didn’t expect anything magnificent, and I wouldn’t say that this perfume is ground-breaking, but damn, I was shocked by how much I liked it! this is a lovely, powdery sweet scent, playful and a little plastic-y. it lasts all day on me even if I don’t overspray it but I will still touch up during the day simply because I love smelling it, and because of the price tag it doesn’t feel like a waste. I would love to see these scents marketed better, perhaps with prettier, less cheap-looking bottles. this smells way more expensive than the 2 euros I paid for it and it’d be nice if it looked as good as it smells. I could only find 20ml bottles and I don’t know if there are bigger sizes available, but if not, I would love to see it. either way, this scent really sparked something in me and I’m currently on the hunt for something similar to this that is perhaps a bit more mature and less artificial, because I have a feeling I might get sick of the plastic-y quality this has after some time. but at least for now I am obsessed with it and it is very likely that I will repurchase it until I find something I like more! (update: I ended up blind buying sweet by lolita lempicka because I was told that it is very similar to this, and it definitely is! seems like my hunt is over but I really enjoy using them together so I will keep doing that!)

Cutest little bottles of a girly juice, not as sweet as you might expect. It reminds me of the top notes of Guerlain's Le Petit Robe Noire Black Perfecto (florale), though it is missing the darker bassy depths. For me, it's a fizzy cherryade scent with some feint sparkling white flower in the background. The luminous quality fades in the drydown and it becomes a basic strawberry, on the skin. For the price, it's brilliant and quite an improvement on some of the pricier 'designer' cloyingly sweet scents. If I had a young teenage daughter I would buy her this and steal it for when I am in a flippant, fun mood and don't want to use up any of my Black Perfecto - incidentally, it layers very well with that scent, increasing longevity. :)

Last year I was desperately looking for an affordable alternative to Frederic Malle's Lipstick Rose, and when H&M announced their new perfume line Lipstick immediately caught my attention as a promising candidate. Lo and behold, Lipstick isn't just an alternative, I would go so far as to say it is an almost perfect dupe of my beloved Lipstick rose! After sampling both side by side, Lipstick is a tad sweeter, but not overly so. Personally I find the lasting power to be quite good, especially on clothes. A scarf that got in the way of spritzing this on smelled wonderfully even the next day. For the price this is simply unbeatable!

Mmm, this is lovely. For me it doesn't read as proper vintage makeup as others have said, it is lacking the powdery element. Definitely getting the waxiness, but also a kind of "dusty" quality which reminds me of the smell of the inside of a hot car. Reminds me of my mum applying lipstick in the car in the 90s, wearing tortoiseshell sunglasses while I apply my cherry lip smacker and drink cherry soda in the back! Fun, cherry, unique and absolutely lovely for the price.

This smells more like cherry with a little vanilla in my experience. The opening kind of smells like lipstick, but then it's over and then I get cherry vanilla. It's good, and for the price it's nice! Lasts for a while... it's been 24 hours and I can still smell it on my shirt. On my skin I would say something like four hours. It does remind me of Thymes Red Cherie a little. Sillage seems on the soft side for me.
