H&M Lipstick - A dash of colour

this was SUCH a pleasant surprise for me! I added it to my cart last minute for my latest h&m order because it was on sale (and it’s super cheap to begin with) and I was curious to see what h&m scents are like. I didn’t expect anything magnificent, and I wouldn’t say that this perfume is ground-breaking, but damn, I was shocked by how much I liked it! this is a lovely, powdery sweet scent, playful and a little plastic-y. it lasts all day on me even if I don’t overspray it but I will still touch up during the day simply because I love smelling it, and because of the price tag it doesn’t feel like a waste. I would love to see these scents marketed better, perhaps with prettier, less cheap-looking bottles. this smells way more expensive than the 2 euros I paid for it and it’d be nice if it looked as good as it smells. I could only find 20ml bottles and I don’t know if there are bigger sizes available, but if not, I would love to see it. either way, this scent really sparked something in me and I’m currently on the hunt for something similar to this that is perhaps a bit more mature and less artificial, because I have a feeling I might get sick of the plastic-y quality this has after some time. but at least for now I am obsessed with it and it is very likely that I will repurchase it until I find something I like more! (update: I ended up blind buying sweet by lolita lempicka because I was told that it is very similar to this, and it definitely is! seems like my hunt is over but I really enjoy using them together so I will keep doing that!)

Cutest little bottles of a girly juice, not as sweet as you might expect. It reminds me of the top notes of Guerlain's Le Petit Robe Noire Black Perfecto (florale), though it is missing the darker bassy depths. For me, it's a fizzy cherryade scent with some feint sparkling white flower in the background. The luminous quality fades in the drydown and it becomes a basic strawberry, on the skin. For the price, it's brilliant and quite an improvement on some of the pricier 'designer' cloyingly sweet scents. If I had a young teenage daughter I would buy her this and steal it for when I am in a flippant, fun mood and don't want to use up any of my Black Perfecto - incidentally, it layers very well with that scent, increasing longevity. :)

Last year I was desperately looking for an affordable alternative to Frederic Malle's Lipstick Rose, and when H&M announced their new perfume line Lipstick immediately caught my attention as a promising candidate. Lo and behold, Lipstick isn't just an alternative, I would go so far as to say it is an almost perfect dupe of my beloved Lipstick rose! After sampling both side by side, Lipstick is a tad sweeter, but not overly so. Personally I find the lasting power to be quite good, especially on clothes. A scarf that got in the way of spritzing this on smelled wonderfully even the next day. For the price this is simply unbeatable!

Mmm, this is lovely. For me it doesn't read as proper vintage makeup as others have said, it is lacking the powdery element. Definitely getting the waxiness, but also a kind of "dusty" quality which reminds me of the smell of the inside of a hot car. Reminds me of my mum applying lipstick in the car in the 90s, wearing tortoiseshell sunglasses while I apply my cherry lip smacker and drink cherry soda in the back! Fun, cherry, unique and absolutely lovely for the price.

This smells more like cherry with a little vanilla in my experience. The opening kind of smells like lipstick, but then it's over and then I get cherry vanilla. It's good, and for the price it's nice! Lasts for a while... it's been 24 hours and I can still smell it on my shirt. On my skin I would say something like four hours. It does remind me of Thymes Red Cherie a little. Sillage seems on the soft side for me.

Very very VERY strong cherry car air freshener opening, it does smell lovely but avoid over spraying! Very potent, very pretty, very cherry. The lipstick comes out more in the dry down. It's gorgeous combined with l'ange noir. Accentuates the waxy lipstick side and makes for a more realistic cosmetic scent.

I adore this scent for all it's cutesy plasticity - but it is no longer available in the UK. The small version is perfect for a handbag. I only wish I had bought the fullsize as it complements my LPRN perfectly. If anyone is willing to sell a bottle please message!

This isn't your timid violet. It's bold, feminine, almost outrageous. I'm glad H&M are taking chances with uncommon fragrances and stronger formulations. Keep it up, please! This will be my next purchase.

This smells like cherry scented lip balm with artificial cherry and wax. Definitely has a cheap and juvenile character, and I really enjoy it! It's just fun.

Simply delicious. Sexy, feminine, cute, classy. new favorite and inexpensive.

Lolita Lempicka EDP + red berries

Simply put...this does smell exactly like lipstick to me. It is a very synthetic super sweet fruity vanilla. At first spray its heavy on the fruity; maybe cherries, or strawberries, just some kind of red berries. It settles down into a fruity sweet vanilla on my skin. It does smell synthetic and a little bit cheapie; but it is. And it is still very pleasant. Lasting power and projection are not great but it was only 6 dollars. I've been really enjoying my fragrance buys from H&M OH and the atomizer or "sprayer" is actually so great on these small bottles!

i wouldnt say this smells like lipstick, more like makeup powder mixed with some sort of cherry aroma. its nice, cute and pleasant. the drydown is a powdery and somewhat synthetic dry (but clean) vanilla with cherry notes, i like it and its not offensive to my nose - its actually somewhat cozy since i prefer my clothes to smell clean and not of random fragrances i own, i will use this - imagine a touch of a barely there sweet powder on your scarf or on a white tshirt

I don't know why lipstick is the only note listed, I smell violet and either strawberry or cherry, also slightly powdery. It's not a serious scent, it's girly and a bit immature. I like it, not love it, i will use up my bottle and not repurchase. I'm going to try a few more from this line, t-shirt is my next purchase, then maybe berries.

I never thought that I would buy perfume in HM. But I liked this cosmetic scent, so I love it and that's it. I only love niche perfume, but I was so surprised that I bought it and now this perfume is in my collection.

Better smelling than any lipstick I have ever owned. A sweet, simple and innocent scent which also reminds me a little of Loud by Tommy Hilfiger, but without the patchouli.

IT is very girlie, luscious, vibrant, pink fragrance. Nice, but it is not the powdery, fine lipstick.

Prada Candy Gloss, but less than 1/4 of the price. I smell cherry candy. Lovely.

Smells good layered with Twilly :)

This really only smells like vintage makeup or lipstick if you layer it with the right thing. On its own , it’s very cherry chapstick (minus the medicinal smell that it has). It’s synthetic smelling yes, but vintage makeup or lipstick scents were/are anything but natural lol. But layering this with a violet scent or rose scent immediately brings out the lipstick vibe that you are seeking. I layer this with Violettas Francesas (which is a beautiful pure violet children’s cologne!) or L’Occitane en Provence Rose 4 Reines. With either of these two scents I feel like I’m the star of a an old film noir, with my perfectly powdered and lipsticked face 😉. You could probably layer this with more expensive scents with those notes and get a fantastic lipstick vibe, but I personally don’t like to layer my expensive scents too much. I like to get my money’s worth. Inexpensive oils may be wonderful with this. In the end, I guess I find this is absolutely a layering scent, not meant to stand alone.

This doesn't smell like lipstick to me but it's nice! This is a very sweet, cute, fruity scent with a pink vibe! I smell cherry, strawberry and violet notes. It's bold. This would be a great first perfume for a child or a young teenager. It's not very sophisticated but it's delicious for sure! The color of this bottle should be pink with pink and even more pink.

I got the small travel size in sales for €1 because I found the bottle cute and toy-like lol.Totally waxy and cheap smell, kinda like cherry wax crayons the kids use in kindergarden. Not vintage lipstick essence, not glamour at all; nice for giving off as a gift to a toddler girl or for fun purposes only.

I still don't find this that lipstick-like, but maybe I've just been wearing the wrong ones. The opening is just.... fruitbomb, overtly girly. The second phase is the most lipstick-y one to me; it gets waxy and greasy and almost chemical like some sort of cleaning supplies. It then starts melting into a nice floral dry-down, but it doesn't morph with the waxy tones enough to create that stereotypical lipstick-smell to me. The longevity is astonishing to me, I wore it for about 6 hours yesterday and could still smell it on myself after showering.

This makes me a bit sad. I'd expected something... powdery with violets or irises in it, maybe. It's not unpleasant but it doesn't bring to mind that make-up smell I was craving for. It feels kind of immature. Has a candy-like berry note to it. There's something plasticy about it to me, maybe like those scented toys I had as a kid.

Blind bought this and fortunately, I only got the smallest size. Smells very synthetic and nauseating.

I see this has comparisons to Juliette Has a Gun "Lipstick Fever", I have that one and it really doesn't smell similar at all. It is missing both cedar and orris in its composition and the fruit/sweet is far more synthetic and loud here. The initial spray is kind of violently fruity, not in a bad way, but it's not as mature or natural smelling. I don't think "makeup" or "cherry", I think of wearing watermelon lip smackers and drinking boxed red fruit punch. It's bright and summery and a little juvenile. I didn't think it smelled like Lolita Lempicka "Sweet" at first either, but in the dry down, about 10 minutes in, they become similar. I wouldn't go as far as call it a dupe, LL Sweet has a bit more depth and is longer-lasting. H&M Lipstick is bright and cheerful all the way through, very linear, really easy to wear, and would probably smell good on anyone who likes fruity "red" scents. Longevity and sillage are both weak, but it was $6, can't complain too much. It doesn't smell as cheap as it is. The tiny little bottle is cute and sturdier than I expected it to be as well. This isn't like a masterpiece, but I don't regret buying it. It's a safe blind buy if you have a sweet tooth like me.

I finally found some time to go to a local H&M store to test (and buy) these little cheapy plastic bottle cuties launched last year. This is definitely not your fine powdery makeup scent (i.e. not like Guerlain Meteorites for instance), but a pretty strong and very sweet pinky-red lipstick scent instead. This actually remains me of Guerlain Insolence quite a bit. This is not my thing (just like Insolence isn't), but if you are into sweet lipstick scents I'm sure you'll like this. And yes, the quality is surprisingly good for the price tag. No worries even if you need to reaply, you can buy as many bottle as you like with this price!

First of all: The whole H&M fragrance thing is amazing . Huge range - something for anybody. Prices are amazing, the bootles are cute and original , and the fragrances are to die for. Im really so pleased. Lasting power, projection - A+ all over the line. Highly impressed and immediately bought 7 different . This one is a bit tricky to wear. It is a bit too cosmeticy for my personel taste but does indeed smell like lipstick. It has a strawberry like undertone similar to the one Oh Lola by Marc Jacobs has.

I took my 5yo daughter to H&M to let her pick out her first perfume out of their range, since she shares the playful interest in fragrances with me. She picked this herself and I was quite surprised, as this was the one I liked the most of all the little eau the toilettes. It's very sweet, fruity and but not too simple. It has it's own personality. It fits my daughter but I wouldn't wear it. My daughter says it smells like grass, heart, and lipstick!

This does smell like makeup, but not an elegant adult woman's lipstick or makeup bag. It smells more like a sweet, waxy, very artificial cherry lipgloss made for young girls—either that or a sugary, cherry-flavored Kool Aid drink for kids. It's cute and fun, but just a bit too synthetically sweet for me. This would be perfect for younger girls or teenage girls to lightly throw on during springtime, however!

I’m revisiting this: I can see why people think this smells like lipstick. Cheap lipstick such as Rimmel or Revlon but lipstick nevertheless with undertones of Comfort or Lenor laundry softener. Cheap and sweet at first sniff but weirdly addictive. Best for a feminine feel, ages 10 to 14 on a budget.

I find it to be good as a budget first fragrance for a teenager (girls). It's sweet, gimmicky in a way, smells synthetic and cheap, yet oddly pleasant. Not every scent has to be a masterpiece so this is good if you don't take it seriously.

The top notes are a waxy aroma. They're almost unpleasant. It quickly dries down into something resembling Britney's Fantasy but instead of kiwi there is cherry. This is likeable but to me it's not very lipsticky.

Try Rose Chérie from Guerlain, it is the more elevated version of "vintage lipstick" scent. it smells almost the same.

Waxy lipstick, almost like crayons. Not the vintage kind of lipstick. Obviously nothing complex but fun for layering.

Very cheap, sweet, young smelling. Like a lollipop. Nothing like lipstick. Overhyped.
