H&M Rose Absolute

The rose is in this is a lot, it almost reminds me of a toilet freshener. I wish I picked up a litle more incense and spice in this, even after 12 hours and a shower I still smell the rose and just the rose. I didn't even get any of the other notes until I looked it up. Still a good perfume though, it lasts a long time and is very interesting if you take a better sniff at it. Definetly has that portait of a lady vibe as you don't see patchoulli and rose combo's too often.

Dark, dry, smoky and slightly spicy, unsweetend patchouli/oud/rose. A concept that is not new but so well done here you wouldn't expect it considering what you pay for this. Very well blended, totally unisex, lasting power easily 8h. The aura of a cold, overcast winter day. Serious demeanour, hidding a rose past its bloom.

For me is just oud and rose....but i love it

My bottle is almost empty, so I went to H&M just to realize this fragrance has been discontinued. Oh, no! It’s time for a farewell review, then. If you like dark, Arabian opulence, this is for you. It smells expensive like the best rose/oud combos out there. Nothing gourmand, it’s just a deep oud aroma and warm, ripe roses. It is rather an evening fragrance, a good accompaniment to, say, burgundy velvet trousers and a tight cashmere sweater. Not extremely long-lasting, though, but good enough for the price.

This is surprisingly dark! I feel like the spice is definitely more "visible" in the spray while the oil has a heavier emphasis on the rose. I feel like the oil needs to be re-applied regularly but it doesn't bother me a bit since it's very easy to carry around. The spray might get a little overwhelming but the oil stays closer to the skin. So great for the fall - winter season.

It smells like turkish rose in tolu balm. A deeper, darker, non-sweet rose fragrance, balsamic and soapy. I enjoy the tangy balminess but sometimes combine with neutral sandalwood for roundness. Moderate sillage/longevity. Unisex.

Smells more cool than warm 2 me. The incense is sour and wonderful. Makes me think of cold stone floors. The rose smells like the bottom of an empty wine glass.

I think the spray has a different take on the rose than the oil. At least on my skin. The oil is more woodsy rose with a recognizable amount of incense. I don't really like to use this daytime at the office (without layering with something lighter), I feel like, it would be too much, too intense for my colleagues. On the other hand, the perfume is sweeter, lighter, with less incense, and more floral notes. This is my go-to perfume in the office. This is also can be too much, because the sillage is huge, but if I use it sparingly, I get a lot of compliments.

I blind bought this because of the glowing reviews here on Fragrantica. Unfortunately it smelled like a really strong mosquito spray on me, just horrible. Big nope.

An impulsive buy for me because it reminded me of a ligher version of Portrait of a Lady without the heavy musk and a more watery rose. Rosy, spicy, woody with a touch of incense. Well blended. It does fade like water on my (dry) skin. Altho the scent smells potent at first, in fact the juice aint. That said, another fragrance came to mind: Aoud Exclusif by Mancera. If you like either one of these two and are looking for a more wearable version you might want to check out Rose Absolute by H&M. Just don't expect the same quality and / or performance.

This is a classy, adult , unisex smelling rose scent, very Arabian leaning , voluptuous and rich like stepping into a room where there is history in the walls and the thick wool Persian carpets could tell you stories of who walked over them, whilst wearing the most expensive silk brocade and dripping with jewelry and the scent trail they leave behind . First try, rollerball: alternately thinking "bar of soap" and "nice incense". (Incense sticks I'd light in my room as a teenager, not church incense.) Pretty big sillage. 30 min or so in I'm starting to get a tinge of something like sweet resins, and/or just more rose coming through. But still mostly soap. Pleasant enough that it'll probably grow on me, though.

It starts off as a nicely restrained rose saffron scent with a little incense and iris powder but somehow the dry down has turned into Jean Patou's 1000 on my skin. It becomes more old fashioned, dusty aromatic and really charming. Quite a surprise!

Omg! All of my favorite notes in one blend! I hope this smells like eau des baux, if it is then flip myself out into getting backup bottles! Can't wait to try this!

This smells like Jo Malone Velvet Rose and Oud for the first 3-4 hours then it dissipates into a non specific vanilla. Great value for money I say.

A decent dupe of Dior Midnight Poison as it has that dark rose and patchouli fragrance. Surprising good value for the volume of product.

A dark, green rose. Quite heavy. I don’t dislike it, but it needs getting used to in my case. I’m not a fan of the incense.

Tried wearing this with Santalum from the same collection, not a bad combo.

To me it smells like a nice mix of Encre Noire and Perles de Lalique.
