H&M Sunray - Golden warmth

i almost never leave reviews, but i have to for this one, since it's straight up one of my top five scents of all time. i cant totally see where others might find this screechy or too dense or sweet or synthetic - it is all of those things. and yet, even as someone who generally hates very sweet/cloying scents AND finds sunscreen scents very polarizing, there's something about this that just makes me happy. i wish i knew the real notes of this scent, but to me it smells like: faded sunscreen on salt-dry skin and the remnants of a creamy treat, in the dusk time of day when it's all melded together and the heat is dissipating. the combo of salt, creaminess, and sweetness just hits perfectly for me, in a way that most sunscreen/beach scents don't (for reference, i HATE both walk on a beach and alien goddess, which both lean into that bitter white floral realm). i'm super sad that this is discontinued, but i have a backup bottle, and only wear this scent sparingly, since it's so specific to this time of year.

This was love at first sniff. I'd spent a long time and far too much money looking for the perfect beachy scent. I searched so many suggestions on here and eventually fell in love with Tom Ford's Soleil Blanc, much to my bank balance's dismay. So I've tried to make amends with my bank buy purchasing three bottles of this because it's the closest thing to SB that I've come across. Not a perfect dupe but so damn close. So close in fact that I could easily live with this instead. This is more than just a solar note. There's coconut but without the sickly sweetness, florals and that slightly oily suntan lotion vibe but it's warm and enveloping, where as I find most beachy fragrances are more light and airy. As a result, I think this works equally as well as a comfort blanket on a cold rainy day as it does sunbathing on the beach. Also it has decent lasting power and projection. This has got to be the best cheap find I've made.

this is 100% sunscreen lotion in a bottle and I love it! it really takes me back to past summer vacations in the mediterranean, preparing to go down to the beach for a swim and burning my feet walking on the warm sand. it’s definitely synthetic but I personally don’t have a problem with that, because it only enhances the sunscreen vibe this perfume has. this obviously also means that it’s not a unique scent but the purpose of this range is not uniqueness, it is to awaken specific memories through scent memory, and for that this is spot on. sunray, golden warmth, summer on the beach, not a care in the world. the longevity is amazing as well especially for an EDT! the notes aren’t listed properly on here but I am pretty sure this has tiaré and perhaps some coconut in it. well done, h&m!

I can't wait for summer to roll around so I can wear this again! it projects so amazingly in the hot weather. the best way I can describe this is an addicting tropical coconutty sunscreen scent. it just transports me mentally to a lovely warm beach with the sun hitting my skin. there are certainly more notes in this perfume than what is listed here. also - this smells quite similar to bath and body works' at the beach. but I will say at the beach has a much more prominent sea salt note, whereas this one is a bit sweeter.

WOW ! This teleports you to the beach ! Amazing - warm sunkissed skin, still salty from the ocean and a bit sweet from the sunscreen! Smells like a solar studio or your skin after using a tanning bed ! I didn't know that "solar notes" was a thing ! Now I do ! :)) PS: I think there are a few more notes ( or a Solar note is man-made of ) : coconut, vanilla and some salt probably. Lasting power is good- 2 hours on me. I bought 4 small bottles. It has to come in a big bottle ! :)

I adore this! Its a great sunny salty creamy scent. It smells exactly like dried up or even burnt sunscreen after swimming and sun bathing at the beach. This fragrance is summer or vacation in a bottle without any trace of overly coconut, fruit, or citrus. Love at first sniff for me, and for the people that enjoy sweet sunscreen beachy vibes in a fragrance.

This is super lovely. Just a holiday scape in a super tiny baby bottle. It’s literally the smell of holiday sunscreen, the sun and a beautiful golden tan. I like the fact that the bottle is so small and affordable. It finishes as soon as summer season is over (if you wear it daily and reapply once or twice).

The Perfume Gods must have heard me and now the scent comes in a big 50 ml. bottle ! :) Thank you ! I can't find it in the physical shops anymore so I ordered a few extra bottles online ! I'm hoarding this !!! :)

This reminds me of an old PINK body splash that I can’t fine anywhere its creamy sun this is how I can describe this it smells like the sun and i LOVE it but doesn’t last long

I really like this one for summer, this is a nice beach scent. Longtivity is so good too.

This synny scent was the actual reason why I finally decided to take some time to visit a local H&M store and test this together with the rest of the range launched last year. I was desperately hoping that this would indeed be very similar (if not a dupe) to Sun di Gioia, one of my favorite summer scents, which in now going to be discontinued. In my opinion Beachwalk (from MMM Replica line), for instance, is far too different from Sun and cannot replace Sun in my collection. And there I was, blown away by the beauty of this scent! This is so sunny and warm, just the right amount of sweetness, very inviting. And yes, very much like my beloved Sun di Gioia. There's just these mystical "solar notes" listed here as the notes for this one, but I'm pretty sure there's at least some frangipani and vanilla in this one, possibly ylang-ylang as well. I came home with 6 bottles of this (and 2 bottles of Berries, which was my second favourite). These are so unbelievably affordable. And there are many others to choose from in this range, should this not be your cup of tea.

This reminds me of Tribe perfume in that generic, synthetic, "feminine" scent (also found in high end perfumes like Gucci Bloom and the low-brow Teen Spirit line). Add to that some Beach Walk and coconut, then throw in a hefty dose of orange blossom in the dry down. I don't usually enjoy orange blossom, yet I like this perfume which is a testament to how well it's formulated. Longevity is just ok. This is a warm, sunny fragrance but the floral notes make this one a real "hugger"- like if someone leaned in for a hug they'd want to stay a little longer. It's a nice scent and smells more expensive than it is. I got the travel size in the sale with no shipping charge and I do not regret the small investment here and it only costs about 10% of the price of Beach Walk. Not sure I'll reorder it but I am enjoying it for the moment.

Adding to my review below: Generally speaking this exremely budget friendly range does not smell particularly cheap to me at all, especially some of the scents included. Of course there were those ones I didn't fancy that much - Vanilla and Pear were pretty synthetic to me, even through I normally love both vanilla and pear scents. However, there are many synthetic smelling scents among the so called premium brand scents as well to me. So I would really call these pretty good finds.

A warm, sweet tiare/coconut with pleasant solar/airy notes. The scent reminds me of monoï but more complex. In the dry-down I also get a mild sandalwood, vanilla and a discreet, clean, powderiness. Projects beautifully. A lovely one from H&M, the bottle is so cute too. Milder longevity. I get around 4 hours from this.

Sprayed this on my shirt 5 times and it stayed on the whole day! Impressed. It was more salty to me but also sweet. Reminded me of Olympea EDP and Marks and Spencers Island Sunset. Linear, but still good nonetheless considering the price. It was humid today it was perfect.

This actually smells really good, quite surprised. I’m getting a huge whiff of Lily of the Valley, with a dry down very similar to Mugler Aura. Update: 2hrs later. Straight up LILY OF THE VALLEY. Which if you went to my profile is my least favourite note 😒

Holy crap! This smells exactly like hot salty skin with dried sunscreen. This is vacation in a bottle and made me feel much better here in cold and dark Sweden. Can't wait for summer!. I can smell something sour/fruity in the background, pineapple maybe?

Sunscreeny, creamy, warm scent. Beach vibes. Tropical with a lot of coconut. What I wanted Beach Walk to be. It's not an every day fragrance for me, but i'm going to wear it on vacation on the beach.

I had it and I remember I loved it. I’m trying to get my hands on it again cause it was just so good. I remember it was a sunscreen summer scent without any sourness. A great gift.

Really similar to "Sun di Gioia Giorgio Armani", but far better. Sunny, beachy, salty, creamy.

By reading the good reviews of this fragrance I wonder If I've got one of a bad batch, because mine smells awful, at least when I spray it. It literally smells like some kind of bug killer spray. I bought it last november but just recently started using it because it seemed more appropiate for spring and summer. But it was so dissapointing! The insect killer smell is very strong at first and then, like an hour or an hour and a half later, it dries down to a soft and sweet scent, not bad at all, but too weak to even be noticed. I tought I was the only one with that impression, but a few days ago I decided to overspray it, trying to have that nice drydown scent a little longer and stronger, and my ex husband came to my home office, where I was working, and said "Did you sprayed insecticide here? It smells like that" :( I think I'll have to throw it away. Or maybe I'll wait for the summer and test it again in much warmer days. I'll try it out a few more times to make my mind up.

Legit sweet sunscreen at the beach. Definitely leans feminine, not unisex. Eh - pretty forgettable. Don't bother.

Strictly reserved for the warmest of days, it can be jarring in other situations. Very creamy, warm sunscreen scent. I get the little bit of salty skin note as well. I'm not familiar with some of the notes mentioned in the comments, but I almost get a white floral scent in the background. I am a little cautious of this perfume because I feel it is very dense and strong. It'll fill a car for sure. Edit: Going back to it, I'm grossed out by this. It's so thick. There are many better summer scents out there.

First of all: The whole H&M fragrance thing is amazing . Huge range - something for anybody. Prices are amazing, the bootles are cute and original , and the fragrances are to die for. Im really so pleased. Lasting power, projection - A+ all over the line. Highly impressed and immediately bought 7 different. This smells somehow exactly like warm sunny weather ! Stay close to skin , very discreet. Smells like skin that has been Warned up in the summer Sun. Very Nice !

I am definitely taking it to my vacation next summer. This one feels like pushing your face in the white bedsheets left on the sun the whole day with that slightly metallic smell, after a day spent at the beach. unsweet vanilla with sun lotion mixed with some ocean breeze

reminds me of summer 2019, the nights spent in the comfort of my room watching the city lights outside as the sun was setting and listening to King Gnu. A time long gone, that i miss so dearly. What I wouldn't do to go back to how those day felt.

Yes it is absolutely tiare/ monoi fragrance but is masterfully blended with added subtle, refreshing dusty iris note and aldehydes which makes it very airy and almost aquatic. It is really great for the price. I am impressed.

This is like a diluted/watery version of Olympea but with the addition of a whipped cream/buttery note. It's likeable. Longevity is actually OK. For the price it's rather nifty!

I am also a huge fan of this perfume. Ended up buying 4 bottles. :) I like the H&M fragrance line, and if you like this, you should also try Sparks will fly and Rue Crémieux.

Smells like your skin after solarium, slightly burned with a bit of sunscreen. It is not bad, it is quite interesting.
