PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!!—on how much Hollister Wave is a love for me!!! Seriously..... Background story first. Review is following paragraph.— I was ordering new clothes from Amazon, and naturally, I wanted to order another perfume. I hesitated at first— self-aware of my addiction with perfumes—and knowing my overindulgence of fragrance beauties, I added Hollister Wave to my cart anyway. I “needed” it in my wardrobe. 😁 It was a steal! My lunch orders cost as much, sometimes more. I should also disclose that I LOVE Hollister Malaia so I figured why not purchase another Hollister. (I have no affiliation with Hollister.) It was a blind buy.— COMPLETELY worth it for me! Fragranticans will agree too. At first spray, I was like—-hmmm.... Amber! Fresh amber. Fresh, clean amber. A vanilla undertone.— But—not a gourmand though. It’s different in a great way. I’ll repeat— Pleasantly surprised! You can wear it every day and is office appropriate or casual gatherings. My first spray was in summer, so definitely, summer works. But IMO it could be worn year round. Hollister Wave also lasts long on me; and oddly, I crave to smell this fresh, clean amber scent. Seriously, buy it. You’ll be pleasantly surprised like me. 💜

This is gorgeous. The star fruit is beautiful & almost smells watery in a lush way. The quince breaks through & the solar notes are present - shimmery, warm & uplifting. I absolutely love this gem. It is a young fragrance but it makes me so happy. Divine Update: I'm completely obsessed with this & can't bear to be without it. I'm addicted to that first hit. It's joyous & it makes me feel like a sunshine starfruit goddess. Fragrances send people mad - it's a fact. And it doesn't have the best staying power but I like that. Part of the thrill for me is the spraying of the perfume. I enjoy spraying it liberally several times a day. It feels decadent

Super pretty fruity floral, very juvenile in the best way, I keep a little 30ml in my purse and spray it to freshen up or just when I want to smell undoubtedly feminine and still inoffensive for work. Definitely doesn't have the best longevity but holds a sweet intimate silage that I find quite pleasant. Also definitely a compliment getter and general crowd pleaser, I bought mine at Marshalls for $12 and for that price I could definitely see myself purchasing this again. If the colour of sunshine had a scent it would be Hollister wave.

What a beautiful perfume. It was a blind buy, and love at first spritz. Smells like fresh, clean white cotton t shirts drying in the sun. Not soapy, though. Smells like a warm hug in a sunny day, when you just had a shower and your skin is still slightly wet. Reminds me of walking on the beach, a warm breeze touching your face. Not too feminine, I can picture men wearing it. It's a thick summer scent, when the sun is shining bright and everything radiates this warm smell.

This is a love! Received it on the mail today and I love it. Its very fresh, the solar notes are amazing and really make this fragrance bright, like you're on the beach in a sunny day with your hair loose and some flower sunglasses. There is a note in here that I really like, I just wish I knew what it is... Makes it smooth, not powdery, not soft, it has something delicate about it like baby lotion or doll scent. Just delicate. New favorite.

The sky is a cloudless, brilliant blue. You're outside, a breeze scented by delicate pink flowers cooling your brow while you collect the clean, sun-warmed laundry from the line. LOVE this perfume! It is fresh, floral, and comforting, like cozy flannels or a hug from an old friend. This is something to envelope yourself in on warm lazy days. Enjoy! My bottle is 2 years old and longevity is decent: easily 8 hours when sprayed on clothes.

Smells like summer! I absolutely love it, it has everything I want in a summerperfume :) Light, sweet floral, easy to wear, not overpowering. It has like a fruit bubblegum scent and its really soft :) Lasts about 6 h on my skin, people told me I smelled good ;) It makes me so happy! This will always be in my collection.

Sprayed it on blind, and it was really not the boring fume I expected. I thought I detected loads of magosteen/xango, but it must be the combination of star fruits, quince and "solar notes"--which I am guessing is calone, and lots of it. I like it a lot. But then, an unpeeled mangosteen is one of my favourite scents.

My favourite summer perfume its so light and fresh and I even spray it around my room, its perfect for summer and really suits that kind of weather its very beachy. My only problem is I wish it lasted longer 😢 it only lasts about half an hour on me and its very disappointing because I love it so much!

I wore this scent the winter of 2017-18 whilst i was in Orlando, and now i long for it more than ever, a perfect example of how scents retrace old memories and give you a warm hug of nostalgia. My gosh how i miss it. Perfect scent for a perfect little period in my life :)

I find this one very interesting. Sweet and fruity but not cloying. Tropical, sandy, beach-y - there is something nostalgic about this one. Not something I can wear daily, but will be wearing occasionally on a right day

A surprisingly good scent which is fresh, has a subtle fruitiness and a powedry setting.

A nice tropical freshy. Not sure why floral is listed as second as this is a sweet fruity tropical and fresh scent but fresh in a way that a melted lollipop is, as it is primarily sweet but not too cloying. Not sure about the solar notes but most likely it is the warmness of the amber and invigoration of cassis. When you smell close to the skin then, yes, some floral sharpness is there and the dry down is kind of powdery, which I don't really understand and like for tropical scents, but seems this is the way they are made regardless of the price point. Not to over-spray as it can get cloying in the summer, last for about 3h before going all out skin scent. Sillage is fine, can feel it hovering around with a hint of quince and hibiscus here and there. Conclusion: Yes - if you are looking for a tropical freshy with interesting notes that you can wear on a summer night-out talking with the girls over some cocktails NO - if you are looking for a floral forward, tart scent or light everyday scent. The quince here is candied at best, also the dry down has amber and sandalwood so, yes, powdery vibes.

Light and fresh and perfect for Summer. All of the notes in this smell soft and vague and I get a bit of salt with the sweet which doesn't take away from the feel. I feel a bit too old to wear this youthful fragrance, but it's certainly uplifting and fun. For me, the florals, especially the poppy, is the main attraction, but I can definitely detect fruit as well. I don't get a strong sense of the base notes dry. Overall vibe is tropical without going overboard. The Silage and longevity is what I'd expect from an EDT rather than this EDP. To me it dries down more shimmery and soft than powdery. If you're looking for dark and sultry, I'd say to pass on this one. This is fun, flirty, and casual. I'd even go as far to call it extroverted.

This is a cute tropical freshy. I definitely get the star fruit and quince. Apparently the solar not is supposed to be perceived as sparkling and uplifting, and I do kind of get that from this fragrance. It has something of a fizzy sweet tropical drink vibe. It's perfect for a casual hot summer setting. I've also tried Free Wave, and for anyone curious, they smell nothing alike. Free Wave is much sweeter and softer, this has a bit of a sharp edge to it that's smoothened out by the amber in the dry down. I prefer the original (this one) because Free Wave has something a bit sweaty about it - kind of like you're wearing a sweet deoderant that wasn't that effective at keeping the sweat at bay lol.

Initially quite strong on me but not overpowering. Soft floral and something that smells like freshly cut cucumbers which might not sound as good as it is. It's a safe all-round fragrance on me. My skin doesn't bring out the citrusy notes others describe. I wish I'd bought it earlier in Spring/Summer because it lasts a quite a bit longer than Canyon Escape (which I prefer but it has no longevity), so I look forward to wearing Wave next year from mid Spring or when we begin to have temperatures over 15C here in Denmark. I just wish the sweetness didn't start out so synthetical. The sweetness fades to something softer and warmer, on me within 10 mins.

So fruity, like a fresh fruity smell, and sweet yet also slightly sour. Really like nothing I already own. Successful blind buy. Can’t wait to wear this in summer. Edit: my boyfriend loves this one. Sadly it doesn’t last longer than maybe an hour.... The top notes are so luscious and fresh and fruity..... but then when they’re gone that’s it, that’s all you were getting. I will keep it and wear it as a freshener, or a body spray, or to cool down is summer (although it’s very fruity it doesn’t last so no worries about the heat).

This is very much in the same style as Ariana Grande - Sweet like candy or Ralph Lauren - Big pony 2. Airy sweet - not cloying, refreshing, synthetic (in a good way, if it makes sense), easy reach, and better lasting than the two I already mentioned. A scent to use if you don't want to bother anyone. Surprisingly long lasting on clothes - I can smell it for days!!!

Carambola and solar notes were both smells that I was very unfamiliar with until this perfume. For those who want to know, they both smell like a very fruity drink from vacation. I like that myself, Wave 1 is very light, like a body spray, good for the summer, but it will need topping up regularly as the staying power isn't as good as the scent.

bought this randomly. thought it would be a daisy-missdior-lveb overly sweet kinda parfume, but surprisingly doesnt smell too sugary and sharp, but instead has a weird soft freshness that is very unique. cant really place it, but definitely very summer-y, very fresh, very feminine, very teenage-y and very fruity. im a fan.

Tart/bitter and salty on my skin, but still fresh. Not the generic perfume that some say so I can't call this a boring fruity floral because to me it isn't. The name really fits the smell since I can easily imagine watching a salty wave with some seagrass and driftwood while I sip on a gin and tonic at the beach.

I had a sample and it was so good I had to buy a full bottle. On my skin it's like sunshine. I can imagine this on young men too, because it's nothing but sunshine and quince on my skin. My husband says it's fruity and a bit floral, but all I can smell is quince and solar notes. Totally love it!

A clean, fruity floral scent. Perfume is great for work, outings, running errands, job interviews, attending school, college, TAFE and uni. Personally, I used to have this fragrance mist as I got tempted by this beautiful scent. But actually, I'm parting ways with that scent.

Soft, mellow, lovely scent. At first it's tropical, juicy, fresh and playful. Then it grows up a bit and it's truly creamy. It makes me think of holiday. Update: Sexy, beach scent. Unfortunately, some note irritates my nose.

This is a clean/fresh scent. I don’t typically go for fresh scents but I really like how it smells. I ended up giving it to my man and I enjoy him wearing it. This is definitely a unisex scent!

It reminds me a lot of Moschino Glamour, discontinued long time ago. Very light and soft femenine. Unfortunately it only last like one hour.

The new one - Free wave - is a typical teenage fragrance, sweet, fresh, joyful. Softer than the first Wave.

I have to agree. It's the generic fruity floral. I'd probably love it if I was fourteen.

Very pretty and simple scent. Super sweet and bright, fruits and flowers.

I have a 2.5ml tester. This perfume surprised me. I don't like it on me so much, only for the fact that I had an air-freshener I used in the bathroom that has some similarities. Even more stunning- this fragrance closely resembles Valentino Donna: Born in Roma. The only noticeable difference is that the powdery note is not here. I am sure you could layer this fragrance: Wave (for her) by Hollister with Coach Dreams sunset- and get a very good dupe of Valentino Donna: Born in Roma. This fragrance is easy to love if you don't already have an air-freshener that smells like this. Those who find this new in their collection may love it. It is safe, unoffensive, memorable. Nothing too special. A good summer day at the beach, or vacation day at the spa: that is what this smell brings to mind. I can't say I'd buy the full bottle. I recommend this for early 20's, younger girls may like it as well.

A kinda failed blind buy unfortunately. I wanted to try this because of the star fruit. I used to have a body wash with star fruit that was sooo nice, so I was hoping to find a scent with that. Well this is not my taste at all. It is rather cloying and not as fresh as I hoped. It also remind me of a male scent to a certain degree. But I wouldnt wanna smell it on a man either though.. I blind bought this together with another hollister scent, the canyon sky one, and both give a toilet refresher vibe. I cant really see myself wear it, but its not horrible, just cloying in a sour kind of way. Like sour as in eating a fruit thats not yet ready to eat yet. My skin dont like hollister i think lol. Not gonna give any more of those any chances. Good thing they were cheap :)

At the beginning it is juicy, fruity, light and fresh - perfect for a hot summer day. Definitely feminine-smelling. However, when it dries down it becomes a bit powdery I find, which I dislike. It's a matter of taste, I'm not a fan of sweet and powdery dry-downs.

Smells like wearing sunscreen on a windy beach. Sort of interesting and fun. A little too screechy with the citrus for my tastes, but not unwearable. The bottle looks plain and nice to me as well.

I found a a 1 oz bottle for a song at TJ Maxx, so I scooped it up as a blind buy and have no regrets. Wave is totally inoffensive, and a great everyday frag. At first spray, you almost wonder if it's going to be another fruity candy bomb like so many other frags are these days....but it surprises. I have no idea what quince smells like but star fruit is super subtle and kinda mineral-like in taste and smell IMHO, so I'm thinking it balances the blackcurrant (cassis) enough to keep it sparkly, rather than syrupy. After a couple of hours, I smell all the flowers listed in the heart - clean and fresh and newly spritzed. There's a salty/mineral note that creeps up that I love in perfumes that's not QUITE ocean aquatic, but definitely NEAR a body of water, as best I can describe it....maybe calone (watermelon ketone)? Then the "solar" notes burst on the scene - as I understand it, this is amyl salicylate and used to approximate jasmine, ylang ylang, gardenia, and frangipani. This note blooms on top of that salty note for hours. The sandalwood wafts in there too. I found it be long lasting (so far 6 hours and still going today) with just a couple spritzes and I got lots of compliments. Incidentally, Womanity is one of my favorite fragrances and Wave is NOTHING like Womanity, IMHO, as another reviewer suggested. I have a bottle currently and could compare them side-by-side. Womanity is not nearly as juicy/sparkly sweet, but is rather more dried (but not candied) citrus sweet, and has a 'caviar' aquatic note that quickly drowns that sweetness deep in the nearby brackish swamp and twists it into something that's entirely in it's own category (and just one of the many reasons I love it so!). Wave is simply a fine example of fruity floral done well, and with so many of the notes I prefer I will probably reach for it on a regular basis.

I'm not a big fan of floral fruity family but of all the perfumes that i have sniffed of this category this is the best to me so far. This perfume is usual and unusual at the same time. Usual because it may seem like the ordinary pink juice, floral fruity fragrance for young girls and there are tons of perfumes that are part of this prolific category. But no, don't let yourselves be fooled. This one is beyond better because first of all no note is prominent and in consecuence disturbing to your nose. I have experience with perfumes that have a fruity note that immediately attacks your nostrils heartlessly, but that is not the case in this frag thankfully. I can tell that there is something mouth-watering in it and also sparkling, like you are opening a fresh bottle of soda or sprite. It's delicious and refreshing made for a lively soul but also for someone that loves being alone and comfortable with herself. As I think about summer I can depict a young girl wearing this perfume that loves to spend her time watching the sunset near the sea or the ocean. She waits for the magical moment when the sun starts hiding below the mountains and the horizon is coloured with an orange-pink nuance in the magnificent clear blue sky, the waves hit the shore with such a vigor that they create white foams. And she just gazes at the astonishing and extraordinary view in front of her glad that she is part of that scene and of this world. This the feeling that this perfume evokes in me and I love it for this fact.

There is something green and leafy alongside the sweet-but-fresh citrus based fruits, and it's annoying me that I can't place it. Underneath the freshness is a note that reminds me a bit of not-to-sweet powdery marshmallow-type accord sometimes used in other fragrances [the herb & marshmallow mix in Christina Aguilera Royal Desire was my first thought], that comes and goes throughout Wave's wear. The floral notes are clean to the point that I'd almost describe them as being soapy; other perfumes that I have/had/tested which contain hibiscus have also been clean, but there is no orchid or poppy on me. My favourite part of Wave is the solar accords that develop with the floral notes. I'm not sure how best to describe the 'solar' accords; it's like when clothes come out of a dryer and the fibers are all warm, it's more of a feeling of mild heat than a distinguishable scent. A simple blend of musk and sandalwood accompanies the solar accords for the final drydown. I'm not sure about Wave - I'll wear it happily enough, but I don't think this is something that I'll re-buy without a gwp or an attractive discount offer, as there isn't that mysterious x factor to keep my interest. I don't know why Wave doesn't hold my attention; I don't dislike anything about it and the solar accord is interesting, the longevity is decent for the price and it is an easy fragrance to find.

WOW. I really love this! Definitely just added it to my top 6 and I have tried a lot of perfumes. I’m actually a sucker for Hollister perfumes. I reminisce about going into the stores when I was a teen and being suffocated by the amazing aroma. But the notes they use are actually really unique! Star fruit, quince, cassis, poppy, and solar notes? Omg this is an amazing combination. I don’t even know how to describe this. It’s like beautifully natural. Sparkly, airy and very feminine. People are saying this is super sweet but I don’t agree. To me it leans more floral freshie with the perfect touch of sweetness. It’s something I could smell every day and never get sick of. This is a safe blind buy, office safe, would make a great gift, etc. it’s youthful but could be worn at any age (I’m in my 30s). This will literally be a daily grab and I will be keeping it in my collection! It has great sillage, projection, and performance. If I had to describe this in one word, I would say it smells like sunshine! ☀️ PS: I read that cassis is suppose to smell like cat piss? Well I love cats so is this why I’m obsessed with this perfume? Dunno 🤷🏻♀️😽

I purchased Wave for Her with the recommendation that it smelled like Thierry Mugler's WOMANITY. It doesn't smell like Womanity, unfortunately. However, Wave is a very well constructed fragrance that is rather unisex. Wave opens with sweet, mouthwatering fruits and bursting of sunny salicylates. The feeling is like a refreshing "fruity" breeze on a warm weather day. The florals are present but well behaved. The entire fragrance is unbelievable smooth with no harsh chemicals present. The most detectable notes are the "solar" notes, starfruit, and quince. This honestly would make a very nice gift to anyone of any age or gender.

I was looking for scent that has starfruit like my discontinued VS such a flirt body spray. This was in the list on here for similar scents so I blind bought it. Its not as fruity and tart as I was hoping but I do love this. The best way I can describe this is the air after a girl showers with a fruity red shampoo. Clean, floaty, fruity, a little tartness. Such an easy reach without smelling super generic clean floral to me, love it during warm months. The bottle is surprisingly nice as well. Its light and doesn’t last super long but its earned its space in my collection, affordable, great spring and summer girly scent!

This smells like it shares DNA with Victoria's Secret Tease Sugar Fleur. They both have the same crystal amber and sandalwood base, a floral note and a fruity top note. Sugar Fleur has a distinctive apple note that isn't present here, but this still has a bright fruitiness from the quince and the star fruit. Wave is refreshing and clean. It's reminiscent of a nice body wash or herbal essence shampoo. I can't see myself wearing this on a date or to cozy up in, but if I wanted to stay smelling ultra clean and fresh after a shower on a sunny summer day, this would be nice.

Wave is a playful, girly floral. The way I'd describe it is as if you were sipping a cherry milkshake while sitting on a clean cotton towel watching the sunset on a warm beach... Initially I get creamy but not overly sweet cherry blossom, then beautiful sandalwood. It's fruity, fresh and a little cheeky but in a sexy way. Lovely summer fragrance. It lasts approximately 6h on me and it's rather close to the skin. Overall 8/10

I just blind bought this at Burlington for a deal. It’s easily inoffensive everyday reach for me. This fragrance at first comes off fruity for me. But then it changes to a super nice floral breezy beach warm but not sunscreen beach at all. I’ll have to update on the longevity of this fragrance but as far as I can tell it’s almost the end of the day I can still smell it on my clothes.

It is one of those amazing perfume that you fall in love with the first spray. Had been suggested by one of my friend and yes since then it has been one of my favourite. It is fresh vibrant, tropical, juicy, fresh, musky. just a spray transports me to a beautiful summer evening in a tropical beach with white sands, palm trees and light breeze. it is so fresh and vibrant and so good.

After spraying : candied orange peel note (quince) + vinyl / rubber / new converse sneakers! After half an hour: synthetic note I know good from Salvador Dali's Laguna - coconut + "dill-y" burning plastic + vanilla (gross combination, maybe it's hibiscus seed). It's a sad perfume. I felt like closed in a plastic cube.

Since I got a sample of it, i felt in love with it’s weird yet desired fragrance. I got a full bottle of this summer and I’m not regretting it at all. Very refreshing in hot days, smells clean and uplifting. The solar notes is what makes it special I guess. Highly recommended for summer time. .
