Paloma y Raices

I was the lucky buyer of bottle # 1 of this beautiful perfume. I was already very impressed with the two earlier releases from Homoelegans; Quality of Flesh and Tadzio and bought this Paloma y Raices blind and picked it up at Exsence in Milan 2017. I confess it was not instant love, as was also the case with Homoelegans ́ two first releases. However, but when I got to know them better, it grew into deep love. This was also the case with Paloma y Raices, actually even more with this one. It remained in my closet for a long time and I would try it from time to time, without really getting it.Then suddenly it just CLICKED! The tuberose combined so masterfully with the coffee note is not only successful, it ́s original and bold. Creamy and very sensual. Spraying it on my wrist this dark December evening made me realize again how much I love this fragrance, it speaks to me on a more profound level, it is so well done. One of Homoelegans ́ new releases Ivre de Vie is just the same, not instant love, but when it clicks after some time, you "see" and understand its olfactory image very clearly. I have finally come to appreciate this aspect in perfumery as I have done a long time ago when it comes to arts; a really good piece of art may be appreciated more over time as it takes longer to get to the core of it. It may get very boring if you figure out what the object is all about at once, instead of pondering and getting there over time. We tend to crave instant gratification and this robs us of some pleasant experiences. I have done a lot of blind purchases online as I live in Norway where we don ́t have access to many of the great exclusive labels in perfumery. But buying blind has taught me not to dismiss a fragrance after just one try. I believe many buyers are far too quick in their approval or dismissal simply because they don ́t take enough time when buying fragrance.

Candied, waxy orange peel and orange blossom in a thick, warm, orientalized vein as opposed to the fresh and light context those notes are usually found in. There is a celery note which adds a peculiar savory accent, but it's more of a twist than something Avante Garde. Overall, it's a warm and friendly floriental with tart and ambery facets. This has an uncanny similarity to Mandarine Mandarin, so if you like that fragrance, you'll definitely enjoy Paloma Y Raices.

This is vanilla with a cardboard edge to it, a bit of citrus to keep it fresh, and something spicy. I find it pleasantly beneficant. Oh and I smell cocoa too. In Histoires de Parfums Fidelis and Carthusia’s Terra Maria it plays a lead role, here it has a supporting role. Beware. Don’t spray this fragrance on a white shirt, because you’ll end up with a red stain.

This is a wonderfully rounded and golden fragrance. It gleams and glows for hours. A good choice for Summer.

Extremely sharp spicy sweet tuberose.. The combination of heaven! It's indeed sharp like a knife with that tuberose, tolu, & peru balsam, it's like an overdose balsamic with hints of coffee beans then comes the harsh grape fruit and mint mix. It's the shape yet sweet blend with white floral as the base. You can sense the sourness within the sweet balsamic white floral. Not specifically but generally i attached this all along with "Tubereuse Criminelle" by Serge Lutens & "Flos Mortis" which is the latest creation of Rogue Perfumery (not in the DB yet). Very complex, great new creative approach, risky, edgy, and quite challenging. I just wish this will remain linear and not making the mint & grapefruit conquers after the cooldown somehow! Please GOD :) I hear this " watch?v=BYkA4gt0wUc " when i smill "Paloma y Raices".

I like It... White flowers wirh coffee and sweet notes...and with a very good performance...good frag! Smell: 8 Longevity: 10 Sillage: 8 Quality price: 7 Versatility: 8 Global: 8.5

I and my man smell a lot of celery above some bubblegum tuberose. I almost like it... The juice is red and stains dresses and skin
