Incredible value for money... a definite must-have for patchouli lovers

A patch bomb for52€/100ml. Refill is newly launched, 100 ML bottle < 20€. Do we need to know more? Yummy yummy candy noses will bark. Patch heads will enjoy. Less is more because I can guarantee You'll suffocate. No office politeness here.

Enfin, this masterpiece appears on Fragrantica. With Santa Maria Novella, Farmacia SS. Annunziata and others abandoning their patchoulis to vapid and tragic reformulations or just discontinuing them altogether, this is a beacon for true gutsy but sensuous patchouli. If you've ever heard people wax lyrical about how the original Les Néréides Patchouli Antique is just so wonderful, then this is the grandfather of that fragrance. HP made all Les Néréides fragrances for a while and this is original 19th century formula of that patchouli with an extra long extraction of the patchouli leaves. Their Patchouli Original is the identical fragrance to that old Les Néréides, but this 1854 version intensifies the camphorous, darker, earthy notes even more. There's a bit of courmarin/tonka, and some real oakmoss, and added cinnamon spice notes, but the patchouli is the star. It's all not dressed up in vanilla and sweet resins, but it doesn't hit with quite the full medicinal blast of the old SMN Patchouli, it takes its time to reveal itself, but when it does those facets are fully there . One of the last great patch solifleurs you can get your hands on but at such a reasonable price that many will find hard to believe.

This is incredible. I’m a novice at perfumery but from my collection of patchouli essential oils, Jovoy’s Psychedelique, and the Honore Payan offerings (other than the XO), this is my favorite patchouli. Payan’s Patchouli Antique is so versatile for me that I rarely hesitate putting it on. I love Jovoy but I tend to reserve it for special occasions. Maybe even for more special occasions, specialer lol, I reach for 1854. It’s everything Patchouli Amtique is but better; richer, creamier, darker. I dislike the atomizer and don’t trust that it will properly seal so I usually dab. This fragrance, like the others, blend well with other essential oils, soliflores etc. Will be expanding my patchouli knowledge and report back otherwise this is top tier for me.

without a doubt my favorite patchouli. The depth is eternal just as the length - this stays on me for more than 24H. Also just ordered their XO which is aged for three months - this one is “only” 2 months
