Probably my favourite fragrance ever. A rarely good lavender - no soapy or dried notes, just authentic fresh lavender. The tobacco does carry a distinctive cigarette note which goes surprisingly well with lavender. The galbanum rounds off the fragrance with a memorable, dusty finish and makes it strangely addictive. I only wish the projection and duration was better. Shame it's limited edition, will probably buy several of these bottles because I can't find any truly similar fragrances and would be surprised if this ever gets duped. From an abstract/conceptual standpoint it evokes themes of suits, avant-garde, well groomed but slightly effeminate male postures. Unapologetically French, certainly a worthy homage to it's namesake fashion magazine. For it's sillage and quantity the price could be a little better however knowing it's limited edition and the quality of fragrance I can just about bear it.

This is quite nice. Fairly fresh with soft lavender remaining throughout the day. Not a big projector but I can still smell this after 6hrs or more so, for me at least, this has very good performance.

I really enjoyed this, yes it's true that it isn't a beast mode fragrance but I don't think it was designed to be that. The smell is amazing and has a slight bit of the original dna but is more fresh. Glad I got it while I could. Side note: The new release which isn't on here yet is absolutely fantastic. Vetiver primevera and is by far the best vetiver I have ever smelled.

The marketing for this fragrance totally worked on me. The idea of combining classic lavender with tobacco and a cigarette accord did sound fantastic to me. The fragrance also smells amazing while it lasts (~ 1h). Projection is also good for about 30 min. After that the scent pretty much disappears. I really like the idea of combining a classic barber shop scent with a ashy cigarette vibe. If anyone knows another fragrance with a similar idea let me know. This fragrance is really disappointing in terms of performance. It might get better with maturation but I doubt it.

I've tried to give l'Etiquette a chance -- Horace really hyped it up -- but I just can't like it. It smells like citrus and plastic, and that plastic smell just ruins it. Worse, it's a linear scent, so that's all you'll smell for its entire lifespan. Someone below mentioned that the lavender note was unpleasant. That's likely what I'm smelling. It's not a clean lavender. Unfortunately, this was an unsuccessful blind buy for me.

I had high hopes for this. It smells great, sublime, for all of the 60 seconds it lasts! Longevity is shocking. I’ve done farts that have lingered longer.

A very weak unpleasant lavender smell, a totally linear perfume with no projection or sillage, even some shower gel or soap have better performance, the worst blind buy ever, for half that price you can have a 500ml/ 17oz lavender eau de Cologne with much better performance, so unsatisfied that I wrote my first review..

Ça a été reformuler, ils ont ajouté de la puissance au parfum et de la tenue et de l onctuosité ils sont vendus avec une boîte noire. Les anciens étaient vendus avec boîte blanche. C’était la première version c’était très léger pratiquement inexistant. Donc réessayer la nouvelle version si vous avez été déçu par la première avec la boîte blanche. C’est ainsi pour tous les autres Parfums de la gamme.

a beautiful fragrance let down only by the fact that it is surprisingly short lived..
