Quelques Fleurs Jardin Secret Collection Privee

I am trying out six different miniatures in the Houbigant Collection Privée to find out whether I will want to purchase a larger bottle of any of them. This one is the first one I have tried after the famous Original, which I have discarded as it has a bitterness that is not to my taste. I haven’t reviewed the Original separately as it would be pointless adding further comments to something so well known. This Secret Garden variant is very pleasant indeed, being more delicate and rounded than the Original. It does indeed evoke a walk through a herbaceous border in a secret garden containing a thousand different flowers teeming with butterflies. The initial lemony lime greenness of the top notes in this colourful concoction is slightly jarring and even unpleasant, but it disappears within a minute or two, leaving a well balanced fresh and light aroma very suitable to wear in the summer daytime or even on a bright winter morning. It does feel quite weak, though, and more like an EDT than a high-concentration EDP. UPDATE: Of the six Collection Privée miniatures, this was the only one that I was tempted to buy a full bottle of, although I did snap up a boxless Essence Rare, which I found heavily reduced on eBay. I also found a reduced, boxless Jardin Secret on eBay, but at much closer to full price. Now having a full bottle. I can confirm that it is indeed much closer to an EDT. Six sprays of this are definitely not overkill and I’d say it lasts a shorter time than the other members of the Quelques Fleurs family. Put this on in the early morning, and you will definitely need to top up by lunchtime. Its delicate freshness that does not spoil or distort on contact with skin is worth the investment.

Oh my God this is soooooo modern in the drydown! I was not expecting to get hooked after wearing it once!!! Now I have to have this and I am seriously thinking of making it my signature scent and possibly only scent! Maybe I can sell all my perfumes and live with this for the rest of my life. I do not like laundry clean nuances normally but this is the scent of an elegant woman. The opening is fresh and green and then turns a bit more clean and soapy. But the dry down is flowery powder and smooth and fresh and rich and creamy all at once. As previously mentioned, this is highly addictive!!!
