Quelques Fleurs L'Original Collection Privee

Love at first sniff! ❤ I don't know the original... well... Original, so I cannot compare, but everything in this has won me over. It smells classic, but not outdated. Maybe a bit mature, albeit in the best possible way. I couldn't recognize, or even distinguish the individual notes, but the whole is a bright, warm, all enveloping cloud of honeyed bliss, that only gets better the longer it stays on my skin. Update: I have finally managed to get the original Original and I have to say that I like this version more. Although the notes are supposed to be largely similar, the other one smells more soapy, the jasmine, that might be my dreaded sambac, is stronger and the opening reeks of cigarettes. I don't know exactly what note that is, but, although it is present in both versions and it doesn't last very long in either, it is way more in your face there, while barely noticeable here. So, all in all, yes, I like this version better AND it is my absolute favorite perfume from everything I have tried so far.

I left a review of this on the quelque fleur l’original perfume, but realised it’s wrong. The one I have a sample of is this one and it’s so much better. There really is a difference, it’s not the intensity (I would say that’s about the same) . I feel this has more depth and character than the other one, the other one is more linear. It’s absolutely in the dry down where there is most difference, this one is softer, creamier, more well rounded and you can detect the lovely violets. The original original is a bit more screechy. I bought a full bottle of the other one so it’s going to have to go on eBay, I NEED this one!

I thought this was very expensive as a blind buy, but I am so happy that I did it. It’s a classic and is eternal. No regrets even with the price tag.

Quelques Fleurs L'Original Collection Privee is not the same as the original on the pure and deep floral register that envelops you with the strongest flower shop smell. No. It is different. Better? I can not say because I am not an expert perfumer, although I really want to be one. The reality is worth buying it, blind or not, though a bit expensive. The cap is made of glass and the box is very elegant. It is a perfume with a classy package that has a visible elegance. The scent, still on the floral track, has an absolutely wonderful clove note that lingers even after the day after. Enjoy it!

My sister purchased Quelquel Fleurs in France in the early 90's and I think they had to reformulate it because of all the restrictions now and it's just not the same. Sigh. I think this perfume needs real oakmoss and real civet to make it work and without all those special notes it feels watered down and missing something.
