Bombon

This fragrance was quite the journey for me! I’d heard such good things about this fragrance on social media. Everyone said how delicious and sweet it was and that’s exactly what I was expecting. I went into Neiman Marcus to smell it and upon first spray I HATED it! It was super floral and green. The lily-of-the-valley note is STRONG at first and this scent projects. I don’t love green notes or strong florals so I immediately regretted spraying on myself. Then after about a half hour or so of shopping I smelled my arm again and it smelled INCREDIBLE! all of that sweetness had come out and I couldn’t stop smelling my arm! I literally went back in the store and sprayed it all over me because I needed to make sure this was what I smelling. Again the first 20 minutes or so I wasn’t a fan but after that it was sooo good! You definitely start the get the caramel and the marshmallow. It doesn’t smell edible necessarily but it’s a really gorgeous sweet floral gourmand and it makes the first 20 minutes totally worth it! I will 100% be getting a full bottle of this because I’m completely obsessed!

House of Bo is super hyped. And rightly so, I say. All of their fragrances are ultralux, sumptuous, sophisticated, and special; smooth, while also intricate and nuanced. I’ve tested them all and - move over Casa Blanca - Bombón may be my favorite. It got me to appreciate lychee. Lychee is easier to isolate when it’s not competing with rose for the spotlight. (Not a fan of PDM Delina, nor Mugler Angel Nova; both are lychee-rose forward.) Lychee and lily of the valley, on the other hand, are an exceptionally gorgeous pairing here. On my skin, Bombón smells like an intoxicating blend of equal parts: florals, juicy citrus, spice, and powder. The tart, creamy citrus-floral facet is addicting. A scent as sweet as the taste of Jolly Ranchers. The booze and smoke are slight. There’s softnesss and warmth. It’s slightly reminiscent of much-more-affordable Chloe Nomade Jasmine Naturel Intense; similarly tart and creamy, with a hint of phantom tobacco. I’ll reach for that Nomade flanker to scratch the itch when my Bombón sample runs out. MASTERPIECE!

From the House of Bo, BomBon is my favourite hands down. The florals, and bright citrus are warmed and softened with lychee, caramel and marshmallow. It’s sweet while not being cloying, as the scent profile leans bright and fresh over sweet. The saffron and pink pepper anchor the sweetness with a leathery, earthy facet, creating even more balance. I don’t consider this a traditional gourmand where an edible aspect is leading the journey. Rather a strategic use of gourmand elements to move you along an exciting journey. The fresh sweetness is perfectly blended on top of ambergris (a personal favourite of mine) and woods. As the dry down continues the fresh, green and bright facets are now sitting with cognac to deepen the experience making it a scent journey that starts bright and sparkly to one that trails off into refined, sensual beauty. BomBon is beautiful, the bottles from Bo are artwork themselves alone. I am grateful to have found this house because what they offer is unique and special.

I was going to blind buy this in a 10ml with my purchase of La Mar, but then the comments here made me nervous and I went with Rosario and Ave Maria instead while choosing BomBon as my free sample. Well, it’s funny how noses work because I can’t imagine how anyone couldn’t immediately fall in love with this! My skin picks this up as a cocoa-marshmallow Choco Musk like base with way more complex notes for grown ups. It’s quite beautiful and sensuous. This will probably be my next full sized bottle along with Ave Maria and Rosario. I don’t know, I really like this brand’s fragrances. Not a single miss, of yet, for me. Edit: Ok so immediately after writing this review I went and bought the discovery travel set and chose this, El Sireno, and Agua de Santos as my trio and got an additional 10ml at check out and chose Espirutu.

Like everyone else, upon first spritz I wasn’t in love. It was nice, but it wasn’t an immediate love. I decided to wear it yesterday as I would any normal perfume and oh my gosh - it enveloped me. I would get whiffs of it throughout the day and it changed into something different everytime I smelled it. It’s a gorgeous green, sweet, saffron floral in the dry down. I sprayed it at 4pm yesterday and it’s now 7:50am the next day and it is still going strong! I immediately purchased both the 40ml bottle and the 75ml bottle, as I just know this is going to be my next signature fragrance (and I need one to travel with!)

Ok I am changing my review. Initially I perceived this as very weirdly mixed and it gave me a visceral reaction immediately. However! I don’t know if because now I am not ill anymore, or if the perfume macerated more ... but I quite like this now! From previously a very syrupy awkward concoction now I can smell the cozy cognac + marshmallow combo, the floral aspect, the pepper and also the woody notes, which initially I did not smell at all. This is a perfect perfume for autumn, it is a sweet feminine pleasant floral. I actually keep smelling my wrist. It also has a vintage feel to it.

Bombón is nothing like I have ever smelled before. The top notes together are so fresh and inviting. Starts to get sweet, but not candy sweet, it is a gorgeous boozy, creamy sweet. Stay power is awesome, don’t know so much in its sillage, but I smell on myself a lot, makes me feel feminine and sexy. This one is delicious perfection. This is beautiful. Not a gourmand and it does not smell like you might think based on the notes. The opening is a bit sharp probably from the lily of the valley and litchi. But then it mellows down and you get some creaminess and sweetness. It’s more of a floral fragrance but so elegant and posh smelling. After smelling almost all fragrances from House of Bo- my favorites are Bombon, Ave Maria and Espiritu. In that order.

For the first hour, I couldn’t stop smelling myself. It was strange, because although I loved the scent, I wasn’t sure if I liked smelling like it—if that makes sense. After a bit longer, it mellowed to the point where some of the deeper, more boozy notes weren’t as prominent. I don’t know if this will be a full bottle purchase, but I would love to be enveloped in this scent in a hotel or upscale shop.

Luxe from the packaging, to the scent! It’s a whole luxe experience to have this perfume. Job well done, founder 👏. The scent is lily of the valley dipped in a smooth lichee cognac. It feels like I’m wearing a satin dress when I’m wearing this perfume. It elevates the mood, adding class to the presence. I would wear it on all occasions, all seasons, signature worthy scent.

Sweet, aquatic floral w strong litchi note. There's a decadent aspect to this in the background I think from the cognac, caramel and marshmallow but those are supporting to the aquatic floral-litchi main notes. It's fresh fruity in the front pungent in the back. Pleasant but the litchi note can become quite candied and sharp. But cravable scent undeniably.

I just love House of Bo fragrances. They all just smell so special and expensive to me. This one isn't really a true gourmand in the traditional sense. I have to actually think about it being a gourmand to focus on the middle sweet notes. Nice floral with some sweetness but light not syrupy. Edit: this is not similar to BR540 for me at all.

So after I received my two bottle (Ave Maria & Rosario ) I received a sample of this and OMG!! I NEED this !! To me it’s a boozy, gourmand-ish light floral. But it’s not thick it’s super wearable and I can see myself wearing this in the fall! I’m going to wait a bit to order but I’m in love ! This house is truly amazing !

I only get the caramel-marshmallow-litchi with a backup of white floral when I wear this. I despise lily of the valley and I hardly detect it. I love this blend. It has fast become a favorite in my repertoire. Longevity is 6-8 hours and projection is well beyond arm’s length. Definitely a beholder’s fragrance.

It's amazing how everyone nose can smell something different. I am so glad this is a love for me. It smells like nothing I've smelled before. Totally one of my fav fragrances. It's so beautiful. Smells luxurious. I got a discovery set and loved it so much that I had to get myself a big bottle.

The first time I smelled this I loved it, sharp and a little sweet. Unique. I bought a bottle and my mind completely changed. All I’m getting is a saffron and lily of the valley. I hate saffron. Where are all the other notes? I’m wondering if there are strong variations between batches..

Bought a sample of this perfume, and I fell in love. I get the Lilly of valley very strong in the opening which might other people don't like about this perfume, but I don't mind it. The dry down is gorgeous! The sweet and spicy notes go well together. Definitely not a blind buy.

Smells exactly like the notes listed. Not gourmand. A fruity floral.. nice! Nothing groundbreaking just nice Edit: I find myself craving to wear this! It's a sweet goey while floral . I might get a fb.

It's not like Greenwich village for the person asking. It has a similarity but theyre not even cousins. Maybe they dance in a duet but they're not related.

For me... when Bombon by House of BŌ is layered with Spikenard Magdalena it’s.... It’s..... WOW! Why? 🤷♀️ I don’t know !

The notes that I get the most from this are the litchi, lily of the valley, and saffron. I’m missing the marshmallow, caramel, and cognac, and admittedly I was more looking forward to those gourmand notes than the fruity florals. I don’t really even get the ambergris, birch, or pink pepper. This is a fun, bright, pretty fruity floral, but it’s not groundbreaking and it certainly isn’t worth the bottle’s price tag. I was hoping from more complexity from this fragrance and I’m a bit let down. If you’re interested in this as a gourmand, know that you will very likely be disappointed. If you’re interested in a fruity, white floral with a prominent saffron, you’ll probably like this! Edit: Upon my second wear of this, I am noticing a lot more of the marshmallow in the drydown, after about 45 minutes-an hour of wear. It is still overwhelmingly a fruity floral, but I am picking up on more fluffy marshmallow quality in the second wear than I was initially. It is still not blowing my socks off, but I find myself constantly sniffing my wrist for another whiff of this so I think I can safely say I like it! Still not convinced that it's full bottle worthy, but maybe a 40mL bottle worthy... ;) Edit edit: Third wear and it turns out I might just love this. Bummer for my wallet! I do maintain that this is far and away a fruity floral over a gourmand, but the gourmand notes bring this to the edge of the gourmand category and add nuance and complexity to it. It really shines at the 1-2 hour mark, and just has such an addicting quality. An incredibly gorgeous and grown up fruity floral gourmand.

Testing this for the first time today and I’m loving it. Although I’m not a big floral person I absolutely love lily of the valley and was intrigued to see a contemporary fragrance with LOTV as a top note. I found the list of notes to be a bizarre combination but I’m a huge devotee to Xerjoff Dama Bianca and was hoping to capitalize on similarities of another seemingly discordant mix that also combines LOTV (in both fragrances) with something gourmand (vanilla in the case of DB and marshmallow in Bombon). For the record it smells nothing like DB but they’re both complex and a bit unusual, which I like. An opulent fruity floral that reimagines LOTV as if it were a tropical bloom. Sweet and vivacious but I would not describe Bombon as gourmand at all. Both classically “pretty” and a bit quirky, it may not be for everyone but it’s worth a sniff!

I feel like this house's whole concept is just to be contrarian. I have desperately tried to get into their selection, but every single fragrance feels like it's trying too hard - to be different, unique, pushing the envelope, and I'm just not convinced that they ever really pull it off. Bombon is definitely my favorite from House of Bo that I've tried so far. But I'm still left a little dazed and confused. I don't understand what this perfume is trying to be - a gourmand? a white floral? It almost smells like a PDM reject. I think it's generally a fine fragrance, but not good enough for the price. Performance and bottle design are obvious positives. I want to own a House of Bo frag just for their artistic bottles alone! Hopefully one day I can find one that actually aligns with my taste. Rating: 6.5/10

Lily of the Valley, Bergamot and Cognac. An ultra wealthy woman dressed all in white having drinks at the Country Club tennis court. Probably my favorite scent featuring LOTV; here it’s made modern and interesting. I love the birch in the base; it’s woody but still slightly sweet and doesn’t feel too dry. If you want a fresh, green floral that doesn’t pull soapy or vintage, this is for you. I can understand why so many people would be disappointed by this fragrance after only looking at the notes. The lychee, caramel and marshmallow are almost nonexistent. They only serve to round out the cognac and soften the freshness. I get about 3 hours of wear, followed by 3 more hours of a sweet, woody skin scent.

As others have said, if you're searching for a sweet or gourmand fragrance, this isn't the one. This scent is a captivating blend of spice, a touch of leather, and an abundance of lily. While it may sound intense, it is surprisingly airy and smooth. The prominent notes to my nose are lily (obviously), saffron, pink pepper, and cognac, with a hint of sweetness from litchi that lingers subtly in the background. I don't detect caramel or marshmallow, but perhaps they contribute to its velvety texture. This is undoubtedly a unique take on a lily perfume. For me, it's a like rather than a love, but I can certainly understand its appeal.

Tart lychee combined with heady white florals. It smells like glamorous feminine white florals of loud perfumes of the 80s and 90s mixed with sour candy. I’ll admit this doesn’t sound good but I actually like it. This might be divisive and I think you must like white florals to appreciate this. It definitely does not lean as gourmand as the caramel, marshmallow and cognac notes lead me to expect. It’s actually not that sweet. An acquired taste but I enjoy it 8/10

Sugary, fruity, green, floral ~ Along the lines of Bond No 9 Greenwich Village. Very similar scent profile. Sweet gourmand notes (caramel & marshmallow vs praline), juicy litchi, and fresh white florals. Had both, ultimately enjoyed Bombon more and gave Greenwich away. Bombon feels smoother, and while it’s just as strong and bold, it’s less dense and oppressive. INCREDIBLE lasting power and strength. Love it!

Totally dreamy on paper––I could really smell the marshmallow and caramel mingling with the lily. On my skin, it's almost impossible to distinguish any of those sweet gourmand notes, and the fragrance becomes a sharper, almost tart white floral with the litchi citrus. The longer I've worn it, the more it's softened, but it's still too bad it's so different from what I loved on paper

This is a beautiful fragrance. So complex and rich. I would not describe this as a sweet fragrance despite the notes given. To my nose I smell a fresh, green, floral combo. It’s gorgeous and morphs as you keep smelling it. I would categorize this into like not a love. Super long lasting 💕

This is an ode to lily of the valley! On my skin, lily is the prominent note for the majority of the wear time. I like the marshmallow, slightly boozy base. It may be my nose, but I find this to last longer than Rosario and Casa Blanca.

This is not my typical scent profile, but something about this especially on my skin and clothes is so captivating! I am using a dramatic word because it’s that good! I do think more appropriate for spring but that’s ok.

I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to get behind the way House of Bo does florals... the lily of the valley in the beginning is just...a lot. It's giving funeral home :(. I don't think I ever really got the lychee or the saffron, just a really green in your face lily of the valley. It took a while for the drydown to come, and for the lily of the valley to fade out. The gourmand notes, though, what I was most excited for, is absolutely beautiful. I really enjoy it even with the lily of the valley in the background!! If these middle notes were the entire fragrance all the way through... wow, I would be buying a full bottle right now. Even the cognac and birch coming through are bringing this rich and unique depth to these sweet notes that I realllly love. I can't believe how much I really dislike the opening, versus how much I LOVE the middle and base notes :/... I mean do people often buy fragrances they have to tough out the top notes for?? Definitely a unique fragrance. It's beautiful overall. Maybe I can fake out my gourmand-hating family when I use this, lol.

This is a wearable white floral (for someone who doesn't like white florals), but I don't pick up any other listed notes which is disappointing because I'd love to smell more of the middle and base notes. It dries down very powdery, so I'm surprised that it's not listed as an accord. Nevertheless, it's still a pretty fragrance. Although BR540 and Greenwich Village smell similar to me, neither smells like this. But I think I understand what people are getting. There's a saffrony scent that both BR and GV share and I think that's what's being picked up here. This fragrance is more "white floral" to my nose than it is saffron. This is not a safe blind buy. Update. Just tested all three side-by-side. They have similar bases, but here are the differentiators: BR540 - the most saffrony, GV - the most bright, Bombon - the most white floral. BR540 and GV could be 1st cousins. Bombon is a 2nd cousin.

This fragrance is very unique. It’s smooth and tart. There’s something metallic about it. I get no lychee. I expected this to be slightly sweet due to the caramel, marshmallow & rum notes but there’s no sweetness. It’s kind of tart actually. This one is hard to describe. It’s not the sensual fragrance I was expecting to smell after reading the perfumers description. It’s a bit elegant but also strange. This isn’t full bottle worthy imo.

I bought a 5ml decant of this and am wearing it today, I can definitely smell the similarities to Baccarat, and I am not a fan of Baccarat at all so I had a hard time convincing myself to like this one. Upon first spray I only somewhat kinda liked it, then it dried down and I didn't like it at all. It smelled sour to my nose almost like someone who had become sweaty and hot while wearing men’s deodorant.

So I grabbed this in my scent box. The notes on paper sounded sooo up my alley. This frag is so basic and the floral becomes overpowering against the the notes. I’ve very disappointed because I had high hopes. I wanted so bad for the leather note to come out stronger. will I continue to wear the sample I got? Yes. Will I buy a bottle of it? No.

I can barely perceive this fragrance, unfortunately. There must be synthetic skin molecules in this bc I can't smell them usually. Keep that in mind if you have trouble with ISO E Super or Ambroxan. Gorgeous bottle.

It looks like I am in the minority here. I personally like the initial blast of lily-of-the-valley, but as it dries down it becomes a more sharp sweet scent that is almost headache inducing for me.

It’s an ok perfume for me, I like the opening but not the dry down. My favorite is casa Blanca from this house.

So I tried this on 3 different occasions, and even though They say 3rd times a charm, it didn’t work out with House of Bo BomBon for me! I still can’t understand this fragrance. But I will tell you what it smells like to me , when I was younger and we would horseback ride, we would have to tend to our horses. They would need to be shampooed and brushed, That is it! That smell of the horse, the shampoo, and the leather reins are EXACTLY what Bombón IS!!! I personally don’t like it at all. Not that I didn’t like horseback riding or adore my horses , I just absolutely do not want to smell like them lol

I wish I could smell what everyone else is smelling. I yearn for the litchi, the marshmallow and caramel, the cognac. I long for the soft, sugary sweetness curling through the floral greenery. But no matter how many times I’ve tried it, no matter how I’ve tried to train my nose to smell these facets everyone else is describing, it smells so sharp and unpleasant to me. Someone below mentioned that it smelled like the stables to them, and the second I read that it connected with me — it’s just a weirdly animatic, astringent smell that lacks all the sweet nuance I’m looking for.

Strong lily of the valley opening that stays throughout the wear. I never picked up the base notes after 12h+, and only lychee and lily of the valley were present. Excellent longevity- I had to wash it off my arm the next day because I was so sick of the smell. Strong 90’s fruity florals vibe. It reminded me of spending the night at my grandmothers house as a child when I was homesick and couldn’t fall asleep. This was the first fragrance I tried from House of Bo so I’m really excited to try some others.

I love so many of the notes in this, but all I get is a weird clinical smell. It smells too similar to BR540 which also has that same smell on me. WHAT IS THAT?? Is it saffron?? I always thought it was ambroxan but I don't see that listed. Does anyone know? I find that so many fragrances have that same smell and I can't stand it but I don't know how to avoid it because I don't know what it is.

The lily of the valley overpowered the gourmand notes. 2-3 sprays was overpowering green. I felt like I did when I had the mumps. 1 spray was tolerable ,and allowed some of the gourmand notes to come through, but I felt like I was forcing myself to like and understand this fragrance. With the high price and overwhelming green note, a definite no!

Was expecting a more gourmand scent, I adore the opening, but after a few minutes it becomes a skin scent on me. After 15 minutes, I really only get the lily of the valley. Was hoping for more, but maybe it’s just my skin chemistry.

This is a no. The beginning, middle and end. It is nauseating between the lily of the valley and the sweetness coming through. It also has a very odd background that is not pleasant, I can't even describe it. It's a scrubber

All I get is Lilly of the Valley and Bergamot, the entire wear. Not the worst scent but it’s super linear and unremarkable. Super disappointed.

Truly vile, just Lilly of the Valley scented. Headache inducing and absolutely beast mode in a bad way
