London Fog

I’ve been obsessed with the idea of smelling like London Fog tea for almost a year. Finally threw down for a travel size of this perfume because it was too expensive for a blind buy. I am not a fan of the opening. Really sharp bergamot, smells like Lemon Pledge. The rest, however, is absolutely divine. Honey and lavender come out in the heart, and vanilla is present throughout. It’s mature without being old. This may be full bottle worthy once I make it through my travel. EDIT: I did it. I bought a full bottle within a month of getting my travel. This girl moved from being a like to a love FAST. Here’s a slightly longer review: I bought a travel of this last month to test it out and almost instantly put it on my wish list. My full bottle arrived today. The opening is a very strong bergamot which turned me off initially. But what smelled like Lemon Pledge upon first blush has developed into a bright and complex citrus. The tea and smoke in the top are overpowered by the bergamot but make their appearance later. The magic, however, starts in the heart notes. The milk, lavender and honey add a delicate sweetness (I don’t get as much milk as I would like, to be fair). When I first got it, putting my nose to my wrist I couldn’t smell the heart notes for a while, but every once in a while I’d catch of whiff of myself and fall in love. Over time as the bergamot became less prominent I was able to smell more of the lactonic and sweet notes. It finishes with vanilla absolute, ambergris, sandalwood and white musk — a base that lingers as a skin scent. This is a unique and complex perfume, overpriced but still a must-have for my collection. I have maybe 6 London fog-themed scents at this point and while this may not be the most faithful to the tea inspiration, it is by far my favorite perfume of the kind (the lotion from Isle Fever being a close second — they’re great for layering). Projection and longevity leave something to be desired — especially considering the price point. Still, this is my favorite fragrance discovery I’ve made this season.

did not get the full bottle, but I'm going to. it's just so beautiful. it starts off very herbal (someone else said like chance eau fraiche and its definitely true) but mellows into this milk and honey scent with just a touch of tea and lavender. then of course it has an incredible warm comforting smell as it goes further into its life, probably from the sandalwood and musk. if you want an actual tea scent you will be gravely disappointed. it is initially quite a photo-realistic tea but it fades quite quickly (I think for me it was ~10 minutes?). if you want a sugary sweet scent you will also be disappointed because it's sweet but not incredibly sweet. for me it's the perfect mix, since I dislike a lot of popular gourmands for being too sweet. so only try this if you're looking for a comforting milky tea scent, not an actual strong black tea. (it also isn't overly loud so I understand not wanting to pay the price for what it is, but in my eyes it is worth it! I'll see how it is in fall since it seems like a fall-winter scent and I'm trying it in the middle of summer)

I tried a sample and I plan on buying a bottle. It starts off with a fresh unisex vibe, like Chance Eau Fraiche. I guess thats the bergamot and Earl grey. I love the light hint of smoke, it enhances everything but doesn't stand out. The scent isn't overpowering to people around you but it does have a good lasting aroma. I noticed that it become sweeter in the dry down. I like how gentle it is because I get headaches when perfumes are too strong. I kept sniffing my arm all night. It's very comforting and gentle. I plan to wear this for the rest of summer. I have no idea how it will change in cold weather, but I think it works as an all year wear. I like that they have multiple sizes/prices for every budget. I don't usually spend more than $120 on a single perfume unless it's a particular favorite. Also, I don't use up perfumes that often except for Matin Blanc and Elizabeth Arden Green Tea.

When I first sprayed the sample of this I also thought it smelled like Lemon Pledge, but I trusted the process of the dry down. The fragrance transformed into this calming steamy milk, earl grey, honey and vanilla goodness. I got the hint of lavender later. I have worn this the last three days and haven’t sprayed much (trying to use my sample sparingly as it appears to be on back order everywhere). It is an intimate fragrance much like L’eau Papier, which I also love. It is a gentle fragrance that I have fallen in love with. I drink a London Fog almost every morning and to me this is a beautiful creation that is as calming and cozy as my favorite drink. The bottle is also beautiful. I will be asking for a full bottle when I replenish my perfume budget!

This is lovely! Very scrumptious and cozy and comforting. This is Earl Grey Tea with some whipped cream in top. It is bright citrus-bergamot with rich, creamy vanilla-lactonic note. The tea note is subtle but tea notes usually are. I don't notice much smoke or ambergris, these notes are very subtle and soft and I don't even detect them until the end of the wear when this perfume is fully in the dry-down. This is a vanilla, creamy, bergamot/citrus scent. I think fans of creamy citrus scents like Kerosene Unknown Pleasures, Lira etc. would enjoy trying this. This scent is too heavy, creamy for very hot weather imo. But it is perfect for winter/spring/fall and any cooler days.

Its nice. Heavy on the bergamot in hot water with tea undertones. The rest of the notes I am not sophisticated enough to smell. It’s pleasant though. I like that it isn't overly sweet or loud. Just a reserved cup of tea. Maybe slightly milky but that’s about it. Unfortunately my skin eats fragrances so after about ten minutes have to really strain to get any kind of scent. All these people talking about this wonderful dry down I can’t smell. Update I take all that back I am now obsessed with this fragrance. It’s my new go to and signature. Give this one a second chance if it doesn’t impress you much the first time. It’s as good as having a nice cup of tea.

It's a lavender, vanilla tea of the best sort. I don't know much about tea (and have never had a "london fog") but it feels kind of Earl Greyish. This is a lovely, cozy, comforting type of fragrance. I've had others ask if it has cucumber in it but I don't smell that. I've worn in on rainy summer days and overcast, damp winter days so far. It calls to me in that type of weather. I started with a sample, moved on to a 5 ml decant then to a 10 ml travel. Last step was putting it on my xmas list for a full bottle! Worth sampling if you like that dna. Also the fact the Brandt makes 10ml travel sizes available gives them an extra star from me.

I'm not sure what others are smelling, but I'm a daily London Fog drinker. Hell I even named my cat Earl Gray. To me this smells like the most perfectly blended, steepened, slightly sweetened mug of Earl Gray London Fog. It's so beautiful and comforting, it's a memory forward perfume. I think that's what you need to be seeking with this blend. The perfect warm hot tea and bergamot. The light touch of lavender and citrus sweetened with a bit of milk and honey. While you sit in a coffee shop on a foggy day with a book. This perfume is a mug of comfort in a bottle and for all my Earl Gray London Fog aficionados.

Beautiful impression of a London Fog- starts off with a good dose of bergamot and some lactonic and spicy notes. I definitely get sandalwood throughout the lifetime of the fragrance- the lavender and honey start off pretty prominent and then fade away to a white musk as it wears. I think the level of smokiness is perfect for this type of fragrance, but I would've liked the tea note to even be a bit stronger. Longevity is a decent few hours. I think I might like this better than BDK Gris Charnel! I've never tried Monday by Arielle Shoshana but that's for sure next on my list.

The bergamot opening in this is really intense, verging on lemon verbena cleaner. I feel like this needs to be better advertised to manage people's expectations with this one. I found that opening pretty off-putting and disappointing as I was fully expecting a delicious, creamy London Fog. BUT! As it developed on skin the citrus mellowed and I was able to get hints of creamy tea, vanilla and sandalwood. It's a more citrusy interpretation of a London Fog and now that I know that I really do enjoy it. Anyone trying to sell their bottle?

This starts off on the skin with a strong citrus, bergamot, and lavender scent I don't care for--it reminds me almost of an overpriced "Lemon Verbena" cleaning product you'd get at in one of those resort town boutiques that sells monogrammed dish towels. But wow is it worth waiting for it to dry down! That harshness fades down into a beautiful, creamy, honeyed earl gray that really does remind me of a london fog. I wish it had more longevity, but a little goes a long way, so I don't mind reapplying throughout the day.

This is so pretty - a word I don’t usually use for perfumes, but it suits this one. On first spray, you get the citrus and tea, and the vanilla/sandalwood/smokiness evolves as you wear. It lasts surprisingly well for its delicate notes. I tried this in the dead of summer and was worried that the vanilla would be overbearing on a hot day, but it was very wearable. I never get compliments on my perfume but two coworkers mentioned that they liked this and asked what it was!

I purchased a 10mL travel spray from Brandt in a discovery set. This is divine. Blended so well. Do NOT let the smoke note scare you off, as it is not to my nose the most notable part of this fragrance—the smoke note gives it more of a hot tea effect than anything. This is a gorgeous perfume. It lasts on my skin for 12+ hours and longer on clothes, with a quiet projection. My only wish is better sillage. Already signed up to be notified when it restocks!

This is a lovely fragrance, and smells exactly like what it is supposed to evoke: a London Fog, which is a kind of latté made with Earl Grey tea instead of espresso and sweetened with vanilla and honey. The sweetness here is blessedly light, so you won't feel like you're attacking people with it, and the ingredients are first-rate. If this weren't so ridiculously expensive I would buy a bottle, but it's just too pricey for me.

I like this. The only hesitation is that I don’t want a 100ml bottle. Why do fragrance houses insist on only releasing 100ml. It’s ridiculous! I feel like they’re hurting their own sales... I know I’m not the only one that’s like “mmm nice, but a 50ml or 30ml bottle would do me” especially if you tend to blind buy! It’s like they don’t understand their market! 😤 ... So, to sum up... I’ll be getting a full bottle of this 👀

I got a sample of this from a friend who didn’t like it, and was extremely surprised at how much I LOVED it on my skin! Initially a fresh citrus, it dries down to a smoky, creamy vanilla. Love the earl grey note here, my favourite type of black tea, I also pick up the lavender note a tiny bit too. Feels mysterious but also calming, I used up the sample super quickly... extremely desperate for a full bottle of it now!!!

London Fog is a perfect beginner niche fragrance that's both aromatic and smoky. It starts with a bright and fresh bergamot opening that quickly dissipates as the creamy warmth from the milk and black tea takes over. This is the perfect comfort fragrance for a rainy day. It wears close to the skin but lasts for quite a while, at least 8 hours on skin and even longer on clothes. Highly recommend this beauty.

I am addicted to this fragrance. A very milky, honeyed earl grey tea. Super sophisticated, photorealistic, creamy, lactonic, just enough smoke to make it mysterious but not burnt. My husband said if I like this fragrance so much I could just wash myself with earl grey tea lol. I see why people say this is overpriced. I agree. I still love it and might get a travel size as my guilty pleasure.

This is such a hidden gem. A warm, cozy, mildly spicy earl grey tea with a hint of milk and vanilla. It reminds me of the rainy day I spent in Cardiff, Wales with my daughter. We ducked out of the downpour into this beautiful cafe that was like an old victorian living room. We ordered London Fog tea and watched the people walk past. I'll always remember that day when I smell this fragrance.

This is the most gourmand tea fragrance I’ve tried. I can smell all the notes and it’s as if I am deeply inhaling a London Fog latte. I think I will reach for this during the fall and winter, because as I am trying it now, it isn’t the spring scent I’m looking for. It smells like Dear Polly and Choux Choux had a lovely baby.

A truly photorealistic perfume that smells exactly like sticking your nose in a London fog latte: a slightly citrus open that turns creamy and a bit smoky with just a touch of sweetness. The dry down is a very nice skin scent. A perfect autumn & winter fragrance that could be worn daily!

That’s a nice and dry woody scent with some clean citruses and slightly powdery and green undertones. It does actually smell like an Earl Grey tea, because of the big amount of bergamot and a touch of smokiness. Love it! My ig: scent.guide

This is a very cozy vanilla tea fragrance. Smooth and well blended. I reach for this on a rainy day and for bedtime. Brandt is quickly becoming one of my favorite houses.

I love London Fog! Great tea fragrance.

I love a good cup of tea, a warm Earl Grey with warm milk and a tiny tiny drizzle of honey, and this is it. ‘London Fog’ is exactly what it promises to be, and more than that as well. This is a delicious bergamot with some light spices and a slight smokiness that almost makes it smell like inhaling the steamy aroma of an actual cup of tea. The lavender is sweet and makes for a nice herbal contrast to the acidic citrus and calming milk, but the vanilla falls between the cracks and I don’t get the ambergris on my skin at all. But I am fine with the ambergris not showing up on my skin because it felt a bit misplaced on the paper strip. This fragrance offers a mash of deliciousness; Creamy with a fresh citrus. It is actually 1:1 of the smell of a cup of my favourite tea. And even though I tend to associate that with autumn this gives an all-year-round-vibe. Though, the deep velvety vanillic smoke could be read as a winter fragrance. The scent itself is way lighter than I thought it would be, but at the same time it is deep and dark as well. The drydown gets slightly sweeter, a bit creamier vanilla than what I would want. The honey turns into one sugar cube too many and the frothy warm milk is more like vanilla custard. Still, it is a great tea fragrance with nice contrasting notes and super longevity. I have gotten up to 12 hours every time I have tested it on skin!

That citrus opening is ...INTENSE. Thankfully it calms down and becomes less of a focus and more a bright point that lifts the rest of this perfume. This is a beautiful representation of a tea fragrance. It really does hit the Earl Grey scent on the nose. As it dries down the tea and milk come together very smoothly and the lavender brings in a fluffy herbal note. There is underlying sweetness from the honey but if you don’t care for honey ...I don’t actually smell a strong honey note here. A musky sandalwood backbone grounds everything while vanilla smooths the base out. Also I see smoke listed. This is not a campfire smoke, but more of a soft incense smoke and it’s very mild. Has fairly significant throw the for the first couple hours and decent longevity. I got a good 5 hours. If you like tea in your perfume...this is one to you get your nose on. (EDIT TO ADD: I just read some of the prior reviews and I get it. My first impression of this wasn’t great. The citrus was abrasive and it did lean masculine. I wore it a few more times and my opinion was changed. I get a lot of tea and it’s quite soft although that opening is still a bit much. Dabber sample)

Very lovely tea scent. Bright bergamot opening (short lived) with lactonic tea notes. For me, this has arms-length projection for about 20 minutes then becomes a milky vanilla-ish personal scent bubble. Nice sillage with movement, but it does not linger in the room. It does better in heat and spraying it on clothes helps. Makes a great cozy, contemplative scent for meditation. As a guy, I will wear this for more intimate moments because I feel the lavender is totally masculine. Winter Palace from Memo Paris, though not identical, lasts a while longer. I think London Fog’s nature is to be subdued. It is more subtle especially with its lactonic quality whereas Winter Palace sings more brightly wanting to be noticed. If you smell London Fog on one hand and Winter Palace on the other, you can pick out a similar tea profile with Winter Palace feeling more lively.

All the ingredients in this cup of tea sort of stand apart in different corners for the first hour. There’s a dominant note of bright and intense lemony citrus; a mysterious deep and dark smoky note that to my nose has a tinge of gunpowder; a creamy dense lactonic aspect that adds an almost chewy texture, like evaporated milk; and a sweet tea note. This stage of the perfume is so interesting; you smell each of these notes separately and they don’t seem to be working together but there’s a promise that something good will come if they do. And... after about an hour they do blend together and the result is a heavenly serving of tangy tea that is at once comforting and energizing, similar to a real cup. So it smells like brewed tea with lemon and milk and also recreates the feeling you get from drinking that cup. Genius. Lasts 5-6 hours on skin.

It smells somewhat like tea, but still fails to capture what it's like to sniff inside a tea canister or from a cup of fresh brew. Bergamot front and center in the opening, with an unfortunate citronella bug repellant aspect. It does have resemblance to Madeline cookies though, next to a steaming cup of tea. I do wish it was more milky and tea-like. London fog does indeed have bergamot in it (from the earl gray), but I don't get enough black tea from this composition to understand the name choice. It's closer to lemon cookies or muffins than a drink. That said it's not too sweet and not artificial at all. Very nice gourmand. After a few hours, it becomes much softer, smokier, and tea like. Still light and green instead of rich and dark. But pretty good! 8/10

A lovely earl grey fragrance, albeit quite expensive for what you get imo. The opening is quite heavy on the bergamot; very citrusy and the projections is quite significant. After a few minutes, I find that it transforms into more of a black milk tea fragrance. The projection becomes more intimate at this point. Towards the end, the remaining notes on me is just milky and powdery. Powdery in a soft way. It would make for a lovely everyday fragrance but this costs $300 for the full size and... yeah... that's a no from me. Otherwise it's a nice fragrance. But not $300 nice.

This is a nice milk tea fragrance with a citrus twist. Just as the name suggests. Calming and enjoyable. The problem is the price. I have Liam which is a dupe of Gris Charnel (still have yet to try). To me the woods in that profile are more enjoyable. Especially for the price. This didn't move the needle on me with finding a Rockstar tea scent. Not a bad scent at all. For the price, it doesn't stand out. I look forward to finding a better tea scent if it is out there. So much to experience!! I have African Rooibos from Chris Collins on my radar. Maybe that will be it.

I think maybe my skin just reacts strangely with this one because I get vanilla and brown sugar more than I get black tea. It's not unpleasant, but it's not what I was hoping for (been looking for a strong tea scent that's not too sweet, so this one is my own fault). Instead of a London Fog, I think it smells more like a brown sugar bubble milk tea; still sweet and creamy, but lacking any of the complexity of bergamot and lavender. It's very easy to wear and pleasant, but as I am not a gourmand person, I will probably pawn it off on my sister.

This smells like the perfect early gray tea but only in the first 10min, afterwards it significantly dries down to a more muted London fog (the vanilla and honey gets more noticeable) absolutely love it on paper the slight honey vanilla appears way stronger on it but more muted on my skin. I'd say of the top notes would last longer, maybe an hour and then the dry down it would be the perfect perfume. It also only stays 5h max on my skin so for the price point it's not all to good but such a beautiful fragrance.

I put this on my wishlist after seeing a post online about perfumes popular in the goth community. It doesn't really fit that vibe at all, but I can completely understand why it's popular in any community. On paper it doesn't have a very strong smell, but on my skin the bergamot and tea notes are bold and beautiful. On the dry down it's an equally pleasant creamy vanilla and lavender. Not necessarily my vibe, but something I might wear to a job interview to make a good impression.

London Fog unfolds like a quiet, steamy cup of Earl Grey. The bergamot hits first, bright and assertive, but soon softens, giving way to a creamy warmth that lingers. It evokes something of Remember Me by Jovoy- less sweet, less milky, but with that same serene, almost meditative quality. Unisex and intimate, it wears close to the skin, making it the perfect companion for a rainy day or anytime you crave the gentle embrace of a true tea scent.

Excellent smooth niche fragrance. Open bright with distinct lemony earl grey tea notes, smoothly transitions into a milky honey then finally lands in aromatic lavender. Definitely a cool rainy london day kind of cozy scent. I like it but don't love it enough for a full bottle though. The lavender a little powdery on me. Really well made and every transition was smooth and dreamy. Definitely give this one a try!

This is Light Blue Pour Homme. Spicy citrus, unisex but leans heavily masculine to my nose. I don't get anything milky, or honeyed, or vanilla. Definitely not a 'cozy' smell, like I would expect of a London Fog. But, if a Darcy-esque man walked towards me through the morning fog roughly twenty miles north of London, and he smelled like this? I certainly wouldn't complain.

To my nose this is primarily a creamy lactonic fragrance. What sets it apart is the brightness from the citrus and tea which are more present in the opening. On my skin, the tea note remains in the dry down but only subtly. The lasting scent is primarily milk, vanilla, honey, and musk. It's a very warm and cozy dry down that I really enjoy for colder weather.

tea the way my mother likes it. sitting at the table, candles freshly lit, with our glasses in подстаканник's. the green you smell when opening a fresh tin of mariage freres' french blue. a careful dash of milk; sweetness emanating from the leaves themselves, holding the sugar. the sort of softness as with a well-worn wool sweater.

Definitely a realistic London Fog. Milky tea and bergamot are prominent, but there is a light herbal soapy/powdery element underneath too. Similar to other tea based perfumes it’s cozy, accentuated by the lactonic elements, and not loud. It’s also not overly sweet or thick so I could see this working year round.

I must have a sensitive nose for lavender and bergamot because I get such a nice projection of both, with nice compliments of vanilla and honey. I get subtle tea notes, so for me, it smells like a true london fog. I don't "love" it because I'm in a low sweet perfume mood right now, but this might change later.

Okay I wrote this off way too quickly. Disliked on paper, love on skin. Creamy + cozy but clean. Like a perfectly soft, worn-in sweater on a crisp day. Different than anything else I have! I love it in the same way I love Liis' Ethereal Wave, but London Fog has its own funky charms. True unisex!

Stand by my initial review. Yes the opening is in your face screechy and very harsh citrus...but it does settle into a beautiful tea fragrance. It’s a little tart, a little peppery, a little lactonic all around the tea. Beautiful perfume if you give it a chance to settle.

I bought this as a sample. It's very fragrant and melts into a milky, smoky smell. Longevity I would say is about a couple hours. It's not what I normally wear, so I don't think I would buy a full bottle, but I still really like it!

I get super strong citrus with a little lavender and milk. I can’t say I really get tea. However I do like this because I typically love a strong citrus. Not sure it’s full bottle worthy though.

It's a nice tea scent that would be someones' holy grail, but not for me. I would still stick to Wulong Cha, but nevertheless, try it for yourself if you like tea scents.

Starts off with strong, bright bergamot and quickly settles into warm vanilla and honey reminiscent of steamed milk. It’s nice but doesn’t have the punchy tea I’d like.

This is a very comforting fragrance. Smells like a cozy night in a cabin with hot milk tea and a fireplace roaring :)

cup of double bergamot earl grey tea, with splashes of lavender syrup & milk...and something is burning in the distance. the bergamot is honestly the main thing I smell; I know that's kinda the point of earl grey, but here it's a little too much. the smoke note isn't incense-y, just...smoky. generic smoke smell, not unpleasant. the lavender isn't as prominent as I would like, but it's working in the background. it takes a minute for the bergamot and smoke to fade, but the drydown is where the magic happens. it's a woody, slightly lactonic vanilla, with slight hints of tea and citrus. if the whole wear could be like the drydown, this would be perfect. the smoke makes this interesting and more mysterious, luxurious-feeling imo. not my perfect London fog fragrance, but I think it's a unique take on a concept that is usually presented more gourmand-ly. try before you buy!
