Mother Of All Roses

A rose that is unapologetic, tall, and lined with thorns. It is a garden that carries the very aura of rose in the air: sweety, heady, nurturing, soft, earthy and tender. Petals plump, ripe, and absolutely exquisite. I consider this scent as my signature, as I fell in love with it upon first sniff when I received a sample with another HoM order last year. If I could only wear 3 scents for the rest of my life, Mother of All Roses would be present on that list. I adore it so much that I may even wear it on my wedding day, when that time comes. I am my most divine & feminine self when wearing this one, and although the rose has been my favorite flower since I was a child, I am grateful to have fallen in love with it all over again.

Finally a rose soliflore with no geranium! Thank you! It’s not that I don’t like geranium, but it is Not rose. This is a true blue rose, green, fresh, dewy, and authentic. Nothing synthetic in this and it shows. The addition of bakhoor is gentle and balanced and just brings that perfect touch of woodsy resins that boosts the strength of the rose leaf and stem assuring a true soliflore blend. Longevity and sillage is both great. This house is stunning and their heart is in it. Bravo!!

Rose, like real rose. The bud, petals, stem - cut yesterday- it has just a tinge of age to it. It is more complex rose then the notes might suggest. I love it!!! But I am a rose lover anyway. There is not any of that fake sweetness that turns rose into “old lady” Scent. For me this is a 10/10. But I would recommend sampling over blind buying. It is more expensive but HOUSE OF MATRIARCH has a great shoppers program - lets you know when items are on special .

It is a spicy and dry crusted rose petal. You can imagine holding a withered full bloomed rose and crush it in hand making petals crumble down. There is woody incense peeking through in the middle and base note but it does not overpower the rose. It is a regal and mystic experience. 7 hour longevity on my skin.

A strange, unexpected rose fragrance. I thought it would be a humid, warm, spicy kind of rose. It actually smells more like a fruity cool-toned rose, and sweet incense, with something salty and even sour in the mid or base. It's green too. This feels almost aquatic, light-bodied, like a body spray. It's not quite for me. However it is nice for summer and very light.

Wow! One of the best roses I’ve ever smelled. It’s bright and rich without godawful geranium or an overpowering woody/patchouli base. I only wish it lasted longer than a few hours but I think this is due to the natural materials. Definitely smells different and superior to all rose-centric scents out there because while it vividly and accurately describes roses, it does so in a romantic, idealized way. These roses are perfectly sweetened with a tiny touch of raspberry preserve and the petals glow in every shade of blue-based red and hot pink. My husband and I cannot get over how great the quality of HOM fragrances are but how much they’d benefit from a revamp on packaging and branding. All four of my tester vials were dysfunctional and needed switched to empties I had on hand. And the images on the website are giving me teen fantasy fiction cover art. At least they aren’t trying to be another Byredo/minimalist thing. I give them props for infusing the branding with color and drama. But this top notch perfume deserves the best. This one and Violet Flame are my dream splurges. 5 out of 5.
