The Moon Shadow

Ohhhhhhhhh NOW I'm in love with it. First impression was yuck, and expensive and heavy unusable scent. Well, shouldn't have tried it in the heat. It was so hot and humid, yuck the weather. Now it's cooler. A month later and I finally get it. Yes, it's strong, complex and top notes are a bit unwelcoming but drydown is super sexy, dark, boss lady, sophisticated. I love it the people around me adore it too.

Maybe I should give it more time but first impression: yuck. A complete and utter mess blended to extreme. Unisex in the worst possible way, i.e, fits no one. I don't know FM's The Moon and perhaps I'm mot artistic enough to appreciate either creation, but tbh all I want is a usable scent. I don't pay hundreds of $$ to flaunt my sophistication. Do not blind buy.

Another strong long lasting gem..no more than 2 sprays in the summer. I may try something else from this house cause this one is a winner for me.

Enormous fruity rose - like a masculine riff on Delina. Great value for money and huge performance

A more wearable version of FM the moon ( rose/ fruit is a bit dominant for the first half an hour ) Edit : some could consider it as a fruitier version of Oud satin mood , definitely very well blended I’m getting both feeling at the same time

Could have been a nice airy scent but there's a prominent funky note throughout that ruins it for me.

there is a persistent nasty fruit tree flower fantasy note that makes me incredibly uncomfortable. it explodes off the skin due to an inexplicable amount of Amber Xtreme. I scrubbed it off my arm and could still smell it through a hoodie and a jacket; there was still sillage! ack. Ropion also did Yes I can for this brand, which is a masterpiece. hmph.

Currently wearing the sample from their Prima Collezione set. I know what the what the note breakdown says, but it is not indicative of what I’m smelling. I’m not going to try to dissect each note, but I do smell something similar to Oud Satin Mood, with less sweetness (I don’t detect vanilla here). There is a slight funkiness/spiciness (cumin like) in the opening of The Moon Shadow that I don’t get in Oud Satin Mood. This aspect tones down considerably as the fragrance dries, but it never really leaves. Overall, The Moon Shadow is quite a nice fragrance with solid performance. I have yet to try FM The Moon, so I cannot compare the two, but if you enjoy Oud Satin Mood, you’ll likely enjoy Noya’s The Moon Shadow.

I could ramble on for hours about how good this fragrance is. The notes are somewhat deceptive. This (from memory) is a take on fm the moon. It opens with a red berry fruitiness supplemented with woods and slight smoke. The fruitiness is front and centre. This fragrance is not too sweet, but so intoxicating. The next phase brings more woods and ever so balances out the fruitiness. For all the thousands of pounds I have spent hunting fragrances, this has smashed its way into one of the best buys if not best buy of 2023. Basically if you like the moon but want something more wearable that's totally unisex then buy it, you will not be disappointed Edit: credited perfumer is the great Dominique Ropion

Must have been completely reformulated. Original bottles were red berries, sandalwood but amongst a lot of other notes. I have 2 bottles and it’s definitely not the notes described by mariyka below. Very reminiscent of oud satin mood and the moon Frederic Malle with a prominent violet note running through.
